  1. Past hour
  2. JT was out in the waiting area when OW came out with his new contract and asked OW, am I up with a smile on his face? Awkward. Sorry It’s going to be a long off season with me hanging around here especially with how the Jets are playing these days.
  3. So we have our first player signing (well extension) in Pokey Wilson. This is exciting as its locking up a good, young player, not a old boys club member.
  4. Wonder how much Cody got.
  5. Looks like there are no crazy short weeks (4 days) for any team this year but in July, we have consecutive 5 days weeks with travel in between. Wouldn't be so bad if one of the short weeks was home & home but they aren't. Losing extra days for travel isn't ideal and we end up playing 5 games in 27 days that month. We have a bye right after though which is good because they'll need it!
  6. Yes, after he died. But I don't recall a word being said about him after he stopped appearing on the broadcasts, same as for Dunigan. Maybe I'm wrong. Broadcasters don't typically pay tribute to people they part ways with. If the individual retires and wants it announced as such, I could see it. But if the departure is at the behest of the network (as might have been the case with Dunigan and Schultz, for all we know), the network is simply going to move on without comment.
  7. Today
  8. I used to love the Thursday games too.
  9. I am in agreement on Walters performance. He has overseen a massive talent decline since 2021. I wanted him gone this offseason as well and am not particlularly happy he is back. That being said, he's who we got, and from 2013-2020 he did a pretty decent job. He needs to get back to that and I will be happy. If he repeats the same failures as the past few years we are in trouble. I am hoping the Canadian mafia got a big dose of reality this season and enter this offseason understanding that the work needs to be put in, and that we must utilize all potential advantages in order to win. Walters can't sit back and not be active this offseason, must make tough decisions on players even if it pisses MOS off, and MOS must be willing to utilize the naturalized import rule, and say goodbye to some of the guys he has favored for too long. If we do that we can start climbing up the hill again....maybe even rapidly. It seems to me that they got too comfortable and forgot that winning is more than running it back.
  10. Yeah Schultz gotta plenty of thank yous and was honored pretty heavily.
  11. AND thank gawd we are not the Riders. What a constant relief that is.
  12. Nice to hear about Pokey! One of our young talented game breakers. This was a must. Really happy with the schedule as well. Not sure why it was so difficult to put out a balanced schedule, but I’ll give the credit when it’s due.
  13. Thank god we don’t play the Riders five times again.
  14. Not for me. I don't want to be stuck in the city on a Friday - I want to be at the lake.
  15. Excerpt from my man JM taken from the Winnipeg Free Press: “Part of being a great team is handling that schedule. You might not feel your best and you might not be snapping around like you do when you’re on your A-game, but you’ve got to find ways to stay in hockey games, push games to OT and obviously get those greasy ones. I don’t think that was something we’ve done a good job here of late.” It's as simple as that to all the 'but the schedule'.

  17. As far as competitive balance on that schedule, just for us, I really like that schedule. No stupid short weeks, no home and away back-to-back series (other than LDC/BJB), good spread out balance of bye weeks, and we aren't ending a season series super early in the season again. Best competitive balance schedule (For us) in many years. Personally, only 3 weekday games all on Thursdays, which is great.
  18. Yup. Lovey's was pretty good. I used to really like Famous Daves but its turned into overpriced dogs**t over the last few years.
  19. Okay so how many NFL teams left to work out with? Just do your rounds TE and we'll have your contract ready to sign when you're done.
  20. Canadian QB Taylor Elgersma works out for Chicago Bears: sources - 3DownNation
  21. I hope so too. At one point, Rob kicked tires on what is now Belle's Kitchen so he's definitely wanted to come to this way for a while. Fingers crossed that he can find a place that works but either way, anywhere it the city will be better than driving out to Steinbach.
  22. Eh sometimes their food truck finds their way to that end
  23. I sure hope it is near Transcona. Famous Dave's has gone from good to really bad over the last several years and the Belle's place is not our cup of tea. I really miss the days of Loveys
