A few things worry me. He’s 27 with plenty of nfl window left. If he has another year like 25 this coming season i could see him being a clipboard qb down south for a long time. I also worry about durability, not because of him but because his legs are a key part of what he does. His 24 half season up here still bothers me. He came in took over and made that b.c. team worse. I haven’t seen that adapt and come back, over come adversity, elevate his team, carry in the clutch type stuff that top tier qbs need. He also had a tremendous supporting cast this year in bc on offence, and their D was soo bad most of the year he got a ton of time/drives to put up stats. I want to see him over come some adversity on that offence, come up clutch and repeat his performance from 25 in 26. (just not against us) It’s not his skill set, or even his mental tool kit I wonder about. It’s really his ability to turn it up at will when he needs it most, that Goat type ability to separate him self from the rest of the league. It’s how he will produce when times are rough. I always worry about qbs with early success. It’s all about over coming adversity.

Why the doubts about his staying power?

same. I do like his talent too. I have doubts about his staying power and that contract is wild, but i respect the guy.

100% same boat. When he stepped up and pasted the rule changes he made a new fan in me.

I admit to hating on the Rourke hype as much as anyone. When he tore into the new commish and the dumb rule changes… I liked Rourke the player quite a bit more.

Well, Captain Canada didn't sound impressed about having to play in the CFL his first round. Having sand thrown in his face by NFL head coaches & general managers seemed to have humbled Rourke. This is still the second best pro football league in the world. The competition is very difficult for some divas who fail. They come up here from US colleges & they find out fast that they better buckle up their chinstrap cuz it ain't as easy as thry thought.

I just hope we have a team to rise with. Other cities sellout win or lose. Winnipeggers start pouting, point fingers & stay home.

and yet because of that pain that year we got Dale Hawerchuk. As a wise person once told me - there is no great loss without some small gain. You have to look at the long game. We've ridden this core group for a long time with the Jets and had some good times. Just like the Bombers have ridden a core group for a long time. Now comes the pain. It always does. But some day, we will rise again.

As always, hopefully our scouting is good AND we play some young guys. For example, I like the upside and Potential of Woodby, J.Smith, Shay and the two DEs who played the last game.

Fans get numbed by theie team's continued poor performances. I can remember suffering through some very bad Bomber seasons & just sitting staring at the tv screen. Or in myseat at Winnipeg Stadium or the Arena. Also, I was a STH the first 3 seasons the Jets 1.0 were in the NHL. Not many wins those years. When the novelty of seeing teams like Chicago, Montreal, New York Rangers & Islanders, St. Louis, Boston & Detroit wore off, the hockey was brutal. I gave up my seat in the group I was with. I just stopped caring. Going winless in 30 games in 1980-81 did it for me.
