  2. Or even signing guys to future deals would be nice. Ottawa, for example, signed a QB a couple weeks ago so they could kick tires a bit, saw something they liked so they signed him to a futures deal for next season. They released him from the PR so now they can bring someone else in to take a look at - maybe for this year or maybe for next year. Either way, they aren't standing pat.
  3. In my memory, and in all pro sports, it is extremely rare for a new GM to retain the existing HC. I cannot see that working for the Bombers, nor can I see O'Shea as GM- that would set the team back 15 years.
  4. No GM worth a damn wants to be saddled with a head coach not of his choosing.
  5. I'd be worried if you get rid of Walters and not O'Shea, the only people who would be interested in the GM position would mean that O'Shea should be the defacto GM (if he doesn't get named that anyways). It seems like a lot of times, a GM gets brought in and he will want to do his hiring, and if you don't also get a new Coach you end up with a weird lame-duck period waiting for the incumbent coach to get fired and replaced.
  6. The Last Castle was one of the best movies ever made imo.
  7. There is absolutely no excuse for not trying to improve this lot. None.
  8. Adding some guys to our practice roster would be nice. Frustrating to see Walters sitting on his ass seemingly doing nothing.
  9. Today
  10. Osh as GM is a scary thought. What a disaster that would be. We'll be back in the dark 2013-15 era fast... dark times. But now that you said it, it is a considration I never thought would happen. Now, I can be prepared (shiver) if that happens. https://giphy.com/gifs/want-tjwzClJM6fyEw
  11. Robert Redford is gone at 89. Great actor. Just by watching his films he seemed like a geniunely nice guy & was the kind of actor who appealed to everyone. My favourite was All The President's Men. May Robert now Rest In Peace. https://media.tenor.com/X4H0T0VxgokAAAA1/robert-redford-robert.webp
  12. So explain why guys who were in camp are doing better than the departed Bridges.... that right there blows your entire argument out of the water.... cause those guys outperformed Bridges in camp too. You just refuse to admit that the coaches are fallible. It's OK. You know 2018ish I too was of the opinion that walters was more of an issue that Oshea, but Kyle Walters showed himself to be a proactive gm who could build a damn good roster whereas Oshea maintained his at times bonkers roster building and usage mindset. Given that we've also heard lots of rumors about walters leaving and Oshea being gm, is it a stretch to think oshea has a large say in players brought in these days? I dunno, I just know our roster usage is subpar and because of that issue it's really hard to judge what this team actually does have.
  13. Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, and Saskatchewan all signing players in the last couple of days trying to get better, BC brought in a few new bodies last week as well. Winnipeg is all status quo! 3-7 in our last 10 games and hosting the grey cup and zero sense of urgency to try something different when things aren’t working. At this point we’re a threat to not even make the playoffs in any capacity.
  14. Thank God, Strev completed the pass. Could you imagine if he one hopped it?
  15. Well, yes and no. All our starters are getting a free ride because they aren't getting their ass kicked by coaches, Hoiwever, the coaches are in a bad place because our depth sucks and the best motivator is playing time and we have garbage sitting behind almost every position on the field and all the players know it and are not fearing losing their jobs. Anyone who has coached this game knows that players without competition are hard to keep on track. If this wasn't a GC hosting year about the best thing that could happen is we just put the guys out there that will go the extra mile despite talent level, but that would likely result in worse losses than what we have. Backups are backups for a reason and there isn't enough talent behind some of our gross underperformers for heart and will to make up the difference. If we had the quality of depth that we should have guys could have/should have been sat down and made to earn their starting positions back by refocusing and winning it back. RIght now we have many starters that are in by default.
  16. Doesn't look planned but it looks like both the coaches and players recognized what was happening. This video (11:20 mark) shows one Hamilton defender briefly stop near Wheatfall and then keeps going towards the sideline (maybe thinking the other Ticat right behind him will be covering the receiver?). Once both guys are going past him, Wheatfall starts waving to Strevy, who also saw that Wheatfall was wide open. At the 11:30 mark, there's a sideline view showing Osh also trying to get Strevy's attention.
  17. In summary, all our depth sucks worse than all our starters so starters get a free ride for underperforming cuz of Walters.
  18. Fair enough. I just think that bringing back your marquee receiver when medically cleared is kind of a really odd thing to criticize. Walters and our AGMs/scouts did a terrible job of evaluating FA talent for sure.
  19. We tried to make up talent difference in receivers signing Mtchell (130k), Sterns and white 105k, and adding Logan. On defense we added Vaughtner to strength the dline and Jones for Lbs, none of which worked out because once again we went for the perceived bargains. Which was my point we didnt really strengthen anything
  20. Walters did a terrible job this offseason and our depth is crap. You are out to lunch if you think anyone currently on our roster in a backup role or camp cut was a difference maker. It was a garbage year for recruitment and offseason signings and yea when that happens guys get pencilled in fast. Your shining examples above don't have anything notable behind them. Wilson is better than Woodby or Ayers, Tony Jones is better than J.Jones, Kolo sucks and so does Eli, Grousing about what we are starting without acknowledging there is crap behind them is a little misleading and it is absolute nonsense to think that any coach, MOS included, said we good don't sign any good players for camp competition. Just a historically bad take there. Every coach ever wants every position hotly contested in camp. Had we cut a bunch of talent you might have a point but we didn't.
  21. I find when someone posts statements like this and similar ones on the worldwide web such an odd thing to postulate.
  22. He was our 2nd best receiver in that game. Osh works off the advice of his medical team. If he wasn't good to go our athletic therapist would have shut him down. It sucks he got reinjured but it is complete nonsense to put that on anyone. The HC works off of what the medical team is telling him, and what the player is telling him. I'm done with this argument because you guys are just like puritans looking for a witch to burn on this. There is lots of stuff to complain about with MOS and the rest of the coaching staff, but this entire forum is getting far out there with the scope and reach of the complaints. It's a brutal season this year for sure, but we are starting to really reach now.
  23. The only way things change after camp is if someone gets hurt. The stark difference in the preseason game between the #1s and #2s should have been eye opening.
  24. ?? encouraging MOS to act like a lunatic? I've seen some suggest a bit more emotion but I haven't seen anyone suggest he needs to act like a lunatic? But hey I don't read every post and see every back and forth here.
