  3. And all it took for the Blues to take out one of our top offensive players was an illegal dirty hit that cost them a 2 minute interference penalty.
  4. I'm not liking our chances if 55 can't play...

  6. https://3downnation.com/2025/05/04/blue-bombers-gm-kyle-walters-cfls-tweaked-roster-rule-stinks-for-late-round-draft-picks/ TLDR, not a rule change just enforcement change. 1/3 if guys sent back make an ar for 1 game, 1 notable impact player recently. For us, this years pick Iwinosa Uwubanmwen won’t be in camp this year and will be a none counter next year. Also last years picks Kalra and Vlahogiannis won’t be in camp.
  7. Thought I’d throw out the remaining schedule till kick off May 7th, rookie camp. May 10th cut down to 85 players excluding none counters May 11th TC opens May 13th cut down to 75 players May 24th first pre season game, at home vs ssk 4pm est kick off May 30th 2nd pre season game in ssk 9pm est kick off May 31st training camps close June 12th week 2 our first game at home vs bc 730 cst kick off. We will have a bit of extra time to finalize our game day roster, practice and be under the sms to start the season with the week 1 bye.
  8. I mean, surely he can punt really poorly at worst. Just like our current punter.
  9. Three guys I thought would be CFL assistants & then head coaches that never happened. Tom Clements. I think he'd have made a very fine qb coach, then OC & HC. The other who I always thought would come back was Danny Barrett. They found their niche in the NFL & college football. Finally, will Hank Burris ever leave the NFL & come back to the CFL?
  10. What a great last 10 minutes of the Stars Avs 7th game. Go Jets Go. I like your confidence dear sir.
  11. We are playing DAL in round 2. 4 straight for them in the 3rd to beat COL 4-2.

  13. I mean, I never wanted to like blm or see him in the cfl post career but he sure made me do it.
  14. A small win it was our best 10 minute start to the game of the series thus far. We dictated the game. Just have to keep it up for another 50 minutes. Another reminder the playoffs is a completely different breed, just have to make sure you make it, doesn’t matter by how much.
  15. It's odd... throughout the season at no point did anyone write we were lucky that we won a game by 4 goals... most games that had such a vast lead we were jubilant about how much we kicked butt and how great it was. Yet when it happens to us... bad luck / it doesn't count. I'd feel way more confident for game 7 and further on if our losses were by a single goal + empty netter or something where the score was close. Nobody can be confident when you get blasted three times in a row on the road and outscored 17 - 5. The delusional fans who think that this stat is misleading are in fantasy land. Very concerning and not the showing of a #1 team.
  16. I’d say 12 minutes span but agreed. lol. How are you alive bro. You be jumping off bridges every goal.
  17. Yet certain narcissists will argue otherwise.
  18. Yesterday
  19. Yup. People forget he was a db in the NFL for 4 years. He played special teams for ott. He had like 150 tackles in the NFL. Guy was a blood n guts gritty tough football player. And to meet him as a person, humble down to earth smart and classy. lol we can hate the player and love the guy. Just like blm.
  20. How I feel about the last game. But good vibes for tomorrow. Win or lose, we riot!
  21. There was a two minute span where things were ugly. Outside of that, it wasn't a bad game.
  22. The Jets had no chance to win, for a good portion of that game. Various semantics could be applied.
  23. Yeah..the fact they basically made a spot to retain him speaks volumes...it's pretty rare actually From all accounts his character and respect has followed him into coaching ranks.. he'd be a good get as a coach back in tge CFL
  24. Lakusiak wasn't a linebacker that 1970 season. He was a DB along with Corners Doug Strong & Paul Brule & Safety Ed Ulmer. At the other DB position, they had an assortment of players that year in & out like Dana Stevenson, Bob LaRose, Ward Smith & Tom Deacon. Even the late season addition of Rick Shaw to do the kicking & receiving as Spavital finally had enough of Lakusiak, he was a former all star DB with the Stamps. Shaw played a little bit in the secondary as well. The Bombers had more raw talent than we remember. The OL already had Bill Frank, Larry Slagle, Bob Lueck, Chuck Liebrock & Chuck Harrison. They had All Star Paul Desjardins at Center from 1965-70 but traded him to the Argos for Bob Swift before the 1971 season. He was doing a medical internship & could not play in Winnipeg anymore. hence the Center swap with the Argos. With Swift anchoring that OL, they would go on to become the best in the CFL over the next decade & more & block for qbs Wally Gabler, Don Jonas & Dieter Brock. On Defense in 1970, they had Mickey Doyle, Joe Critchlow, Rob McLaren, Doug Strong, Paul Brule, Gene Lakusiak. They'd bring in Grady Cavness to replace Ulmer in 1971. DB Tom Oberg solidified the one secondary spot where it was a merry go round of defensive backs the year previous in 1970. They were also strengthened in 1972 when former All Canadian linebacker Phil Minnick rejoined the Bombers after a 2 year absence due to a serious knee injury. In a great off season in 1971, they replaced FB Bob Houmard with Ed Williams. HB Mack Herron replaced Amos van Pelt. QB Don Jonas replaced Wally Gabler & Benji Dial as well as Lakusiak as Kicker. They brought in Paul Markle in to replace Lou Andrus at TE. The new Flanker was Jim Thorpe & SE Bob LaRose. They both replaced the wideouts they had in 1970. ROTY Split End John Senst was traded to the Stampeders prior to 1971. Defensively, they strengthened their DL with the additions of Jim Duke & Jim Sullivan, a long time NFL player. Lunsford drafted wisely & brought in two blue chippers in Bob Kraemer from the U of M who settled in at Wingback as well as Pter Ribbins who could play a number of positions on offense or defense very well. In 1972, he led the Bombers with 9 interceptions. They went from 2-14 & the joke of the CFL in 1970 to 7-8-1. We were the highest scoring team in the CFL in 1971 & 72. We finished third in the West & made the playoffs for the first time since 1966. Don Jonas won the Schenley Award as the CFL's MOP after the 1971 season. But they had a core of young & talented players that hadn't yet matured or jelled in 1970. Yes, they lacked the maturity & talent in 1970. However, these players grew up fast in 1971 & 72. However, I believe that 1970 team wasn't as bad as we thought. Even at 2-14. There's at least half a dozen players who stayed with the Bombers from 1970 to experience the success. However short it was. Just my take.
