2026 Bombers Season
well it prob moreso the guys who left knowing the were in a bad spot...as opposed to anything nefarious going on, or issues with coaching....this yr...I could of seen guys quiting on numbnutz OC last yr Thorne was just being realistic...he wasnt really faring well and knew he had no chance here...with ZC the starter....a 3 yr vet ahead of him....knowing with all the hype...and the performance of Elgersma that he wasnt going anywhere, and Perkins who is experienced, and finding his way and was well ahead of Thorne in performance Wilson not so sure....maybe he was told they were gonna give Elgersma and Perkins most the reps after ZC as they kinda know what Wilson has/os and that rubbed him wrong way and he just said eff it....possible, or he as well saw the same thing Thorne saw and realized he wasn't out performing Perkins, and that Perkins is likely to get better as he gets more use to the Canadian game...so wanted to walk away, thinking/hoping he's be released and able to latch on elsewhere before camps winded up?...Possible...but we suspended instead, so maybe there is more to it and some personal stuff going on...as we could have just released him if he asked for it, and cant see why we wouldn't...I sure the real story will emerge after this 1st pre-season game and its spoken to next week...Its not like the guy is useless and has zero to offer...If Dom Davis could have the amount of yrs up here running short yardage, Then Wilson surely can as he is damn good at it, and actually in right situ has more to offer....but his future here was likely not happening with ZC here and Elgersma...Especially if ZC pulls a BLM and becomes injury free all yr...and shoots the lights out, he could conceivably wanna play another yr and mentor Elgersma...or even back him up if the kid is legit and wins the job...be a pretty good backup and set of eyes on the sidelines for a young QB

as much as the pest is..well a pest...He has to be in the convo of top 3 QB's in league. He been inactive for 2 yrs now so interesting to see what he has this yr when he is playing, but based on what we saw prior....and if he has actually matured and become a legit quality pro...in personality and demeanor....He likely is at the top this yr

I agree. I’m not a Bo Levi fan, but you have to show you’re capable of being successful over a full season before you can be ranked ahead of the proven all stars.

I'd rank BLM, Vernon Adams & Trevor Harris over him easily at this point. Depends on how this season goes Dru Brown & ZC may also rank higher. The sample size of Alexander is much too small at this point. Lots of potential... needs to prove it on the field for more then 2 - 3 games at a time.

2026 Bombers Season
I think it’s two very different situations. Every year there are guys who don’t even show up to camp, or come and leave in the first couple of days. Thorne was a PR candidate and seems to have made a career decision. Wilson was told the depth chart - which in any other year he’d be listed as #2 based simply on tenure - but was pushed down the depth chart and is seemingly blaming the organization for not giving him a chance.

Watched Thorne interview shortly after he signed here and he sounded pretty ready to move into coaching. Like wasn't counting on having a pro career. Wilson maybe not seeing progress for himself in working up the depth chart but also the game is the chance to win a job. Could be something personal too.

I'm not sure if Thorne had playing time coming... I'm not sure how you give 5 QBs playing time in a game. For Wilson... maybe I'm a bit cynical but is it that hard to think Wilson who has attempted 39 passes through 4 season of pro football and coming into this 3rd season on a team being told that he'll be battling for the 3rd QB spot finally deciding before live bullets start going that maybe this is the end of the line? Can I vote for the option of poor roster management? Why bring a guy back for his third year to compete to hold a clipboard all year? I'm guessing for a little bit of continuity but you know what you have in him after 2 full seasons.

One guy leaving that's not weird... two guys leaving early. I can't remember ever having 2 qbs quit before even getting a chance in a pre season game. Are we recruiting bad character players? Are the guys being treated like ****? Do we just have bad luck? Condell pissing people off? It would be nice to have a reporter speak with the guys and get their side on why they left.

With his career 16 TD over 4 seasons you are declaring him the best QB in the league with Rourke?
-

The one time I agree with you. Both knew they had playing time coming. So, go out & show how good they are. To quit a day or 2 before that game makes no sense. From a business sense.

VGK wins both games in COL. Loved the fan at the end yelling “You guys are a disgrace!” 🤣

You don't find the timing even a little bit odd... The day before a game?

2026 Bombers Season
SFU didn't deserve players like Tyler & the others who stuck it out & gave thir blood & sweat for a program that didn't care about them. He should have transferred out but he didn't. I give him credit for sticking it out but but the cost was very high emotionally & physically for the guy. Anyway, I can see where this conversation is going. I'm being pidgeon holed by some here & every time I give an answer the hole is getting smaller. So, for any of you who think my opinion is invalid or romantic, good on you. I have my beliefs & you have yours. Never the twain shall meet. My conversation on this topic s over.

Dunigan had injury problems the longer his career went on. Not at the beginning. Mostly concussions.

If it's such a bad thing to be the 4th or 5th qb then why even come to training camp? You say it's a waste of time so no big deal if they leave. Well, I don't buy what your selling. There are guys who would play on a broken leg if they could. Or never would consider quitting even if they were behind the 8 ball. Yes, it's a business you get paid to win. However, giving up on yourself is also a business decision. They made it. Good luck to them.

We are talking about the 4th and 5th QB on the depth chart who are (or were I guess) current making less than you could be making on EI right? It's nice to have a romantic view of a team and comradery but at the end of the day it's a business. No one really knows what's being said inside the locker room. You hope that guys are being accurately appraised of their situation. I don't think you can begrudge these guys from seeing the writing on the wall and deciding to go home.

I sincerely believe he's 1a/1b with Rourke for beat QB in the league..... When healthy. But man that guy is like Dunigan... No luck at all- 2026 Bombers Season
No, I don't. Getting cut is one thing. But walking away from your teammates? How is that leadership or character at the position that requires the most of both? To me, it's the ultimate in selfishness. Things get tough & you quit? Wilson probably felt that he didn't get a fair shake & maybe he didn't. Well then, the only one who can change that perception of Wilson is Wilson himself. Work harder. Study harder. Be the most prepared. Leave everything on the table. No stone unturned. Be the smartest qb in meetings. If he still gets cut ast least then he can say he gave it his all & it just wasn't meant to be. If it's not a mental thing then it's physical. From all the stories I read here of fans watching Wilson practice he didn't do that. His passing was missing the mark. For a third year pro, he should be stepping up & not taking a step back. In Thorne's situation, he probably was overwhelmed & decided to get out. I can imagine players like Brock, Dunigan, Clements, etc all felt that at some point but put their head down & powered thru it. Okay, Thorne's not the first rookie to quit. It happens. If he came back & O'Shea agreed to take him back then I'd be okay with that. Being a rookie he deserves a second chance if he wants it in the future. I can say this about my son Tyler since you brought him up. He never quit any team that he played for. He went thru 3 head coaches, 3 OC's, 3 playbooks, three different sets of terminology & 3 QB Coaches in the three seasons he played at SFU. Some very talented players transferred out. They couldn't recruit during the 3 years he played at SFU because they'd take 3-4 months to hire an new HC so the team couldn't commit to players. And beside, who would sign with SFU when they didn't know who the head coach was going to be? So, recruitment was absolutely dead. This just made the team worse every season he was there. Tyler could have went into the transfer portal every year but each time he said no. He felt he owed it to his "brothers" to stay & not run out on them. So he didn't leave. All his loyalty did was to continue playing football for the worst NCAA program anywhere. His final season under Head Coach Kelly Bates was the worst. They didn't win a game. Bates never played 4 down football. He was never a head coach before. Bates was so far in over his head he was 200 feet underwater & sinking fast yet his huge ego was the problem. He thought he knew all the answers to none of the questions & coached like it. He treated Tyler like ****. Took away his captaincy. Made him the third string qb. All because Tyler came into his office after he was hired to talk about some of the grievances the players had with all the changes every year. The players hated Bates because he treated most of the veterans he never recruited like dirt. Dude went 0-39 as a head coach before the AD put him out of his misery but the damege was done. The players had long stopped playing for him. The football program was cooked. The administration's one goal was to kill the football program & the hiring of Bates sure did it. They hired a couple of head coaches after Bates but only won 2 or 3 more football games after that. All of BC's best football players went to UBC instead. The football team was discontinued. Some of these guys at the pro level think they're so hard done by really aren't.- The TV Thread

The way you talk about players is so weird, especially for a guy who has been fairly open about how they don’t think their son got a fair shot during their collegiate career. You don’t think these men exhibit character or leadership? Why? Because they appear to have made a personal choice based on how they want to run their life? I don’t understand why you choose to continually project your wants and desires as a fan of a sports franchise onto these guys who are literally just quitting a job. That’s all it is for them. This doesn’t have to be “they don’t have the character to persevere through a rough patch”, this literally could (and likely is) as simple as “they don’t wanna get paid a low salary to be far away from their families when they could earn equivalent or better back home” (PS not too torn up Wilson left, I think he was option number 4 at this point anyways and I like that it forces the team’s hand to NOT go with the established player)- 2026 Bombers Season
Condell demands a lot out of his QBs, and maybe Thorne and Wilson just weren't getting the new system. - 2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
