I get the point you’re trying to make, but that’s pretty creative math. If you start from the 2023 Grey Cup, we’re 16-13 playoffs inclusive.

You still missing the point... previously the D would been carved up to the tune of 50 points. Yeah they still got some kinks to figure out but they're better. We're looking at steps here, not instant 180.

he's had the last 2 yrs at minimum to adapt....and thats giving him some benefit of the doubt and some rope from past success But he has shown either no ability...or no desire to unless forced to...be it injury or a lil gentle suggestion from above....to me that says you get what you see, and an old stubborn war horse such as that...at this juncture in his career isn't gonna change....so it's time to say thanks for all the good things...being a huge part of the resurrection here....but time to say goodbye and we will honor you accordingly in the near future based on last 3 grey cups....and 2024 and this season to date...we are a .500 ball club....and we aint currently trending up...we trending down.... and save for that 2024 Montreal miracle fluke of biblical proportions...we sub .500 Thats 30 games

And are still that bad. Keeping teams to a scoring average under 24 points a game is a must to be successful in this league. Teams are piling points on us and we do not have the offence to run and gun. Last year we held teams to an average of 19 pts a game I believe. Year before was even better. Our offence took us to a 17 point first Q lead. That was erased shortly into the 3rd Q. That's not good defence. I understand that our offence didn't help, but you gotta have a D that can keep a team from coming back that quickly.

Well to be fair, a marked improvement doesn't mean good... they were THAT bad previously.

No

Richie Hall era D was also all time great at turning ball over.
-
And at pivotal times of the game. It's very concerning.
-
I agree with you... and I don't know the answer to that question... but I think we need to start seeing some changes before the rope should be extended too much...
-
the identity of our defense used to be "we don't give up big plays"... you can dunk and dunk all game but we'll keep it short and hold you to FGs... now we seem to be giving up big plays regularly...

we had no o.c as well into FA....Another huge factor in where a guy may wanna go.....and we yreated that as no big deal....more stellar work with the ho-hum off-season hahah....dont be so weak lol
-
That's a fair assessment. At every level from management down to players, we are underperforming.. No team can win like that. Too many big plays surrendered to be suggesting our D is playing good
-
there was Lawler...Coxie...Lewis...Rhymes among others....even Hollins...all gonna be available....but we targeted a back from brutal injury White Jr....back from injury Schoen...and a never was really in Sterns....who mind you would been a good cheap compliment to 2 studs...and to further add to the pile of meh Cobb....and heralded Mitchell as some huge steal...and paid handsomely...then sat and ate his salary until finally last week...then targeted him 3 times and didnt implement anything for him to show what he is capable of....stellar work if I say so lol
-
I respectfully decline, wbb it's all yours. Lol It was a very baffling offseason for sure.
-
we could have got him for 275k...and be money well spent....we just cheaped out...again....recurring theme....But have no issue in wasting money on sub par guys....basically just cause they were here in the glory 2 yrs
-
It may be a non-issue but for free agents looking to sign somewhere, a coaching staff & management regime not under contract isn't the most attractive place to land.
-
BO....He's due
-
I swear to god some people are so far down their own rabbit holes they've forgotten how to get out and are just digging deeper and deeper hoping they find a carrot.
-
And even now, seeing what he's done, I still couldn't justify paying $300K to a non-quarterback. The bigger issue is how we struck out on every other receiver we brought into camp and mortgaged the future on a (great) receiver coming back off injury and the hope that Ontaria Wilson wouldn't make it to / through camp. You can't bleed talent and expect to compete well. Truthfully, it doesn't matter who we have behind centre right now. There are so many issues on this team (from coaching, to receivers to offensive line) that nobody has a real chance to be successful.
