No it's not the same. Wolitarsky was still a guy producing as expected from his role. Thomas is a guy playing more than his ability dictates which is the issue. -

To me that read tongue-in-cheek... People complain about O'Shea's unwillingness to move on from Thomas but when the team does move on from a veteran (Wolitarsky) people complain, so damned if you do damned if you don't even though if we had a straw poll about if we had to pick one it would be 100% to Wolitarsky. And with Wolitarsky... it does take two to tango. It's clear to us all here that he would have been the #3 Canadian Receiver behind Demski and Clercius so how often would he be getting on the field? Bombers are having issues with depth right now but you don't necessarily expect that and I can see why he would want to be in a position where he is on the field more often than not. Obviously hasn't played out the way he wanted with picking up a hamstring issue and BOO looking more or less competent -

However we want to characterize Makonzo's role as a key player in historically bad Chris Jones D...the guy hasn't suited up for a football game in 22 months. He's not going to play more than 35-40 snaps in a whole game including special teams. -

If the three-year recovery is accurate for Shoen, then we should not be expecting great things this season and by the time the three year period is over, he will not be a spring chicken any more. As far as Mitchell is concerned, IMO he has shown very little in either catches or ability to separate himself from defenders, so it ought not be too hard to find a better replacement. He may yet have a breakout game, but right now he looks like a bust. We got troubles in River City.

Not at all injury related, his wife went into labour. Congrats to his family.

Makes sense for sure but it sucks that we don’t have a single young receiver in the pipeline that we can continue to develop over the season. -
Schoen will replace Sterns who was moved to 1 game IR. So Mitchell stays for this week. He may get bumped next week by Moore or Echols. Houston coming on will probably mean Lawson gets bumped to PR.

Look at our receiving corps in 2022 and try to find a spot for him. Yeah we could use that player today. He would have had a hard time getting on the field in 2022. -

The study on NFL players is anyone coming off ACL isn't close to previous production until 3 years later. Reinjury rate also crazy high (for everything hip down) and most pro football players don't make it to 3 years post ACL. So yeah, I don't expect him to be anything like he was his first couple years and he'll have to keep working to adapt his game to the reality of where his body is. I get that Mitchell is better than those Canadians, but also kind of a red herring because it's picking whether to dress a borderline useless American or borderline useless Canadian. Mitchell is like a grenade they forgot to install the charge in. We pulled the pin and there was no explosion. -

Makes sense with the Moore and Echols additions. -
Yeah you're both right but I still think they're going to do what I said

So if you take Mitchell off, you're going Schoen/Demski/Wheatfall/Clercius/Corcoran at WR with Cobb as the back up? I'd take Mitchell over Cobb or Corcoran. Schoen for Sterns, Cobb for Weitz, Houston for Lawson seems better to me. -
So a healthy Wheatfall and Clercius...Iffy Demski....Just back from an injury he shouldn't have been playing with already Schoen and Corcoran and Cobb?...good good what a flop and failure that group is if that the case Id say hopefully since we basically are relegated to it see Schoen for Mitchell....Echols for Sterns, Bailey for Weitz, Cobb for Thomas, Makonzo for Kramdi...Woods for Ayers..Houston for Lawson
-
God I hope this is successful, Zellers deserves to make a full comeback
-
I think Weitz will come off for Cobb. Schoen, Cobb, Houston ON Sterns, Weitz, Mitchell OFF
-
Oh I agree...Makonzo is legit..and a better SAM than Kramdi Griffin tho is our best and is doing great there Weitz i agree is a pointless add...offers nothing but ST play and isnt exceptional at that either
-
No we don't need a Canadian @ SAM but Makonzo when healthy could be a very good addition. It also allows Griffin to play multiple rotational roles that he is currently doing very well. If it's up to me I'm sending Weitz back to the PR in order to add a Canadian to the AR. However we added Cobb already but that may have been a paper shuffle to keep PR roster within limits. I won't be surprised either way. If either of Kramdi or Demski don't play then there is room for those 2 changes on the AR regarding Canadians added. I believe Cobb was added just on the premise that Demski was a possible GTD but I expect him to play.
-
Guy who already did...Griffin....on roster tho possibly Makonzo We don't need SAM as a Canadian spot to meet ratio...never have really
-
This will always be the case, but I'm more worried about them doing it to Demski this week...

Anybody else hear that McLeod was released from the PR? Never mind, it's official now. -
Griffin could but I'd guess Makonzo comes off the 6 game IR after missing 10 games this season. He could be listed as the starter but fall into more of a rotational SAM initially.
-
Is Kramdi out, if so whos replacing him?

Anybody else worried that Schoen is going to come back but he's been rushed and isn't quite right physically which is just going to cause more issues?
