Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I learned to be skeptical of any young qb who came to the Bombers since Jim Krahn out of the University of Arizona. A supposed blue chip prospect he had it all physically. He was tall, athletic with a strong arm who could tuck it away & run if the pocket collapsed around him. Fans like me were excited. is this guy Dieter brock's heir apparent? I got caught up in the hype & was more excited to hopefully see Krohn get some playing time over Brock. Krohn's big problem as it is with a lot of American qbs was that he couldn't adjust to the Canadian game. He failed miserably. Krohn played part of one game in 1980. he attempted 17 passes & completed 10 & tossed one td pass. The problem was he threw 4 picks the other way. During the game, I remember he looked lost at times on the field. he'd be sacked, fumble or throw a pick at the worst possible time. Head Coach Ray Jauch never played Krohn again & was released after the season ended. The guy wound up playing in the USFL with Philadelphia & never distinguished himself there, either. After that disappointment & ever since I just yawn now when they bring in these young guys as 95% of them can't play in the CFL. We all know the Bombers record the past 30 seasons developing legit CFL starting qbs. Not very good.

Told ya, these guys are totally replaceable. Every year they come & go. The only thing is the money wasted on their so called development & a roster spot. I learned a long time ago following the Bombers & the CFL that if they're unknowns signed for third string or PR roster positions then there's a good reason why no one's ever heard of them. They're replaceable as changing yesterday's dirty underwear. Artoepus got a job coaching high school qbs in his hometown & good for him. He was never going to see the field here & was probably the first qb who would have been cut. And we had posters here thinking he may be the next great one. Hopefully, Artoepus becomes a successful head coach & his time with the Bombers will be a footnote in his future career.

I really like masoli, Id love him as an IR hide QB coach type. I don't think he has any thing left in real action. I thought zach was toast too though. Id happily bet my house on him being done though.

Game 63 : All Your Ducks In A Row
I think that they could sneak in and get wooped by colorabi round 1 but at this point and looking at schedule after rangers game, lots of in division but also good teams. We struggle against good teams. Tough schedule. Hopefully finish bottom 10 and win a top 3 pick. All 3 of stenburg McKenna and verhoff would help eventually.

Masoli would be the last guy I'd have out of that list. MBT would be my first choice. I'd also be good with Adams/Evans/Patterson... somebody with at least some CFL experience. Could also wait for someone getting cut in TC.

What would be a reasonable expectation of fans toward Bomber Management and Scouting in having a serviceable QB2 in case ZC can’t ’get back out there’? I’m asking cuz I don’t know the answer, key word in the question being reasonable.

Pull Dane Evans out of retirement. At least he knows our D. (He doesn’t like it…but he knows it.)

Evans is a particularly sad case- talented, athletic but too often unable to cope.

Masoli looked like he'd aged out really badly -- was a step behind everyone else on the field last year. Too bad because I think the guy's got guts and he gave us a game to remember in the 2021 Grey Cup, but Father Time is undefeated. When I saw Tyree Adams play, both before his injury and after, it didn't look like he was running the offence, it looked like he was running around. I am definitely not a QB coach, though.

barring some unseen signing....I totally expect it to be ZC...Wilson and Perkins....how they manage the short yardage and who actually comes in with QB2 type packages/plays....yet to be determined, but i'd be shocked if it Is different QB's behind ZC

Ya my initial thought on Masoli is the exact same as wbbfan... Love him "around" but not sure if ever want to see him on the field. He's been cooked and done for years now... But I love who he was back in the day and feel like maybe he has something to teach younger QBs. I don't remember Tyrie at all... But honestly at this point I think they're letting Wilson and the UFL guy battle it out for 2.

Adams and Evans are the only two that make sense really. Decent enough with some potential to unlock still.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I might have interest in Masoli as a qb coach. I don’t think as a player. I think he’s cooked beyond cooked as a player.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Masoli wouldn't be my choice but if someone had to come in off the bench and run a CFL offense I think I he could still make plays. But given we still have Wilson I don't think it's that critical. I agree with Tyree Adams being the better fit at this time. If only just to bring him as a camp arm and see if he's recovered.

Masoli looked cooked 2 years ago. Dude was deep fried last season. No interest there. Better sign a vet crappy old backup cuz a dude mainly on the pr last year retired. Why. Now is time to start developing our future QB and we can develop another for another team. Ppl go on about there are no future QBs, and that’s cuz teams bring in washed up vets to take spots of guys who could have potential to be more than just a washed up vet. It’s time to develop a qb and that means letting him play when Zach can’t go. There is no future with Masoli or mbt. I’m not even sure they are stop gaps or band aid solutions even anymore.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I'd say you could do a lot worse than having Masoli as a vet backup. He'd be the poor man's Collaros at this point given he can't run much anymore. But theoretically our line would do a lot better to protect both of them.

Game 63 : All Your Ducks In A Row
Damn near tripled in shots. We are quicker but couple guys noticeably slower are Toews and Nyquist and Arniel plays them way 2 much. Also Iafallo in the top 6 is ridiculous. Lowry 2 center is ridiculous. Rosen looks good but he is too fast for his line mates. Honestly. Just poor roster management by Arniel. Lambert on the 4th. Rosen with 2 slow guys and Iafallo in the top 6 are all stupid coaching decisions. Lowry as 2 center also. Call up Yager. Perfetti Yager Rosen. Just do it you slow vet loving fool.

Thing is, cutting at the end of camp is a lot harder to get on with a team like that. Especially with very few nfl snaps. I wonder if the lions look to flip him for a late pick, or as a part of a pick swap. It's an ugly list. Masoli would be a great guy to have around, if he never had to see the field. Tyrie would be a solid pick up. Evans would be servicable for camp. At this point I expect the fa pick up qb to be an ugly move. Unless we manage to work some strange trade before the draft.

Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Tyrie Adams would be the only one I'd kick tires on....pre-injury actually was showing serious potential...2 yrs removed from it now, he could be a under radar kinda signing....and has some experience playing, and looked decent in his start... albeit minimal but he knows a heck a lot more than a fresh faced rookie to the league...and for a QB his age is right in the area where they either figure it out and get pretty good, so a real no risk situation there

He will most certainly get a few looks from other NFL teams if he's cut. I think as of last week, Bengals had like 3 OL on the roster lol.

Maybe he finally got the message that he would never have a chance to unseat Collaros.

Weird timing by Chase. On Manu, if he gets cut in camp, I bet he tries to latch on elsewhere before looking at the CFL.
