  8. Today
  9. I see rotational piece quality in both, this year, for sure. Idk about that. IF we are going for a run, stopping base, we would want Lawson and Ceresna on the field. Not really Nuer. He's undersized and has struggled to disengage blocks to get into the run game. If anything, that is a time I'd flip Ceresna to the edge, beside a tweener big like Fletcher/Young in camp right now. Even though he's undersized a bit, KMB is much better vs the run than you'd expect. I'd also look to the 30 front in that case, with 3 big bulls you completely shut the interior gaps and force the run off tackle to one of our many Wil type bodies. In 1 year, Smith caught Ayers in terms of playmaking. Which is no small feat. Smith's intangibles are off the chart, which, combined with top-tier athleticism and the right passport, should be a first-class ticket to major reps.

  12. 100% He floated some deep balls that went for long completions when they should've been TDs, but he played his best in the play offs and put us in a position to win each time. He was really the anti zach. If zach played in the post season like nichols, we'd have won 4 in a row with ease. I mean, they said the same thing in edmonton. Lapo and Nichols was the most extreme dink and dunk combo ever. If you had 1 with some one to help offset their weaknesses you'd be ok. But together, it was a recipe for a massive work load on Medlock. Idk, wasn't his last game played here when he got booed off the field at home and whined about it in the interview after? I think that stuff impacted Nichols more than most qbs, but his wife did do a great job of helping him try to spin it. Ring of honour for high-quality people in blue n gold. The village of Walbys Warriors.
  13. He got a ring and rode in the parade. That’s plenty of recognition.
  14. Now there's a man with a sense of humour not taking himself too seriously. Respect. We should have a ring of honour just for that especially in this day in age of look at me, like my video, follow me, hit on my bio so I can make gobs of money on things I don't even necessarily believe in.

  16. Nothing wrong with being a game manager at all. I wish ZC would lean into it at this stage of his career.
  17. Jesus christ with the you have to earn it ****... what more could Smith have done last year to earn reps? By the end of the season guy was very noticeable every time he was on the field (pretty much only special teams). It's great to say osh will start a Canadian over an American but I don't believe that's universal. Osh loves veterans and guys who are established. He won't take reps away from them unless something forces his hand.

  19. I think fans took that more seriously than he did. His wife came up with the idea of making hats that said Game Manager on them so he leaned into it.
  20. BC and Edmonton....that Edmonton game in particular...I think he had over 400yrds in that one.
  21. oh misinterpreted the joke. Whoops. :)
  22. Also, all that game manager stuff that people hang on Nichols is unfair because his OC was always Lapo, and Lapo would turn Doug Flutie into a game manager if he got the chance.
  23. I was at that game. Matty Ice was red-hot, we were up and down the field all game. Classic CFL playoff game except it ended sad for us. 100% Matty deserves recognition and fan love but he's not an all-timer.
  24. Armchair QB certificate as a bonus?
  25. Sadly after the past couple years everyone probably has one.
  26. Matty Ice had a couple great showings in the playoffs. Like you said, just wasn't a team that was ready to win yet.
  27. I can't speak for these other guys, but strippers do love me. If these guys can't buy a stripper's love then they need to rethink their banking strategy when going to the peelers.
  28. I agree! Get Smith some reps at SLB. The Bomber's finally have a legit backup for Kramdi there.
  29. I agree with both of you guys on the head scratchers of the past. However, I was speaking generally. MOS may have a different take, but as I mentioned earlier he LOVES NATs to a flaw. So, I think it is safe to assume that if a NAT is as good, or represents little drop off, to an IMP he will go with the NAT. We've seen that a zillion times under his coaching. NAT vs NAT, or IMP vs IMP different story. What's keeping Shay and Smith off the field right now is that we have really good IMPs ahead of them on the depth chart. JSK going down may have opened up a crap load of reps for them now though.
  30. Only way to earn them is in live game reps and proving it...Practice isnt gonna get it for you...film study....hustling around....nope U need to earn it and gain that trust and development with live action play...And Osh is very reluctant todo it...will ride guys ride into the dirt even when they are underperforming or flat out not good enough but he likes them...to the point which we have seen and discussed here would rather play a disabled player with no business being on the roster over giving a guy a shot...hopefully that has changed and is a thing of the past and it was spoken about internally....we shall see
  31. You are clearly jealous of me and Charity.
  32. That makes sense with Smith and Shay but honestly I think they could take some reps on D and we'd be fine. As for you have to earn it, we started Kolo for multiple years and each week you could watch the film and see him get blown up multiple times. We played Kornelson reps last year and he was invisible. Damian Jackson got reps and he was limited at best. Ditto Corcoran. So yeah I get earning reps but don't tell me MOS applies this to everybody.
  33. AND in all honesty...he played well in playoffs and if not for a seive defence vs..was it BC??...He would have pulled off a playoff win...we lost but not from his play. I bet his playoff stats are much better than ZC's in his time here
  34. I see him as a rotational piece this year that could play his way into more meaningful reps if he performs well. Nuer is about our best shot at 2 IMP DTs on occasion so I think he will get regular rotation and if that drops off it's because of performance, not a love of Schmekel. I see Nuer being used more when opposing offences are more likely to run so that we can clog up the middle with Ceresna, and whichever other IMP DT makes the cut.
