  4. ahhh include #31 Rick House into the tier 2 grouping. Him and Joe Pop were a great duo. Iโ€™d probably add Eugene Goodlow as well into the mix.

  6. I wouldn't. QB depth is pretty thin around the league
  7. Today
  8. Bombers drop Wilson from the suspended list, making him a FA. I'd be shocked if he gets picked up by another CFL.
  9. It is a lot, but % of SMS it's about the equivalent of the 275k we paid him. The 333k number shocks us all but we all need to remember the massive SMS jumps last year and again this year. I dont think we, as fans, are used to the new SMS reality now.
  10. Except that's not true. Lawler left money on the table to come back to us. He and his 1500 yds receiving yards last year kind of make an actual fact counter to your opinion. Kenny is the best and most impactful receiver in the CFL. That is a fact. Everything you are saying is either speculation or opinion. Would I have paid him 333k last year..nope. This year, with the big SMS jump, yep. He is a guy that instantly makes any offence far more harder to defend.
  11. Yesterday
  12. Tier 1-Milt Tier 2-James Murphy and Joe Popp
  13. It's so funny but I had the exact same comp in mind... AB3... Not in terms of their abilities, but in terms of "tiers" of receivers... That's exactly who is out Kenny with.
  14. I doubt it. I mean. Iโ€™m sure it will play a role but I donโ€™t think dudes necessarily make teams based just on a pre season game or 2. I think coaches generally have a good idea going into game 2 who is and isnโ€™t making it and I think the game either confirms their original thoughts or maybe makes them think a bit but in the end if dude sucks all week at practice but goes off game time well, thatโ€™s a decision isnโ€™t it. Just seems from a fan perspective game 2 is more starters get the first half then its guys who will make the team playing with lots of guys who wonโ€™t and then finally in the 4th itโ€™s those guys that prob stood out the most that you want another look at but by then your opponent is playing their cuts also. Logically tho the Canadian QB who has never played a pro game before except nfl pre season is likely gonna need some time to develop over a guy who was league mvp of the UFL recently but I mean until or if Zach gets hurt, who is QB 2 and 3 donโ€™t matter cuz itโ€™s Zach Taylor and BP regardless like those are the 3 QBs and until Zach gets hurt it donโ€™t matter who 2 or 3 is The RB last year was the pre season star. Cut weeks later now working for the man.
  15. Thing is when talking bomber receivers you need to bring up Milton cuz he is the true gold standard on and off the field. Kenny maybe more in the Arland Bruce III group tho. A tier below Milton. So who is in that group? Geroy? Not as a bomber. Robert Gordon? Possibly. I mean. I dunno. Schoen probably ranks higher than Kenny as Schoen was the man from game 2 or 3 on. Where would Kenny rank I wonder.
  16. He's the league's best ever and it's not close... I don't even like discussing his name among other receivers because it makes no sense.
  17. I donโ€™t disagree about Ayers but in the bombers view it appears versatility and special teams play is important. Could be a stud LB tho so if Iโ€™m being serious about change itโ€™s Kyrie or Tony who Iโ€™m sitting. 6 game Tony and give Ayers and Shay chances in the middle. Why not. Tony isnโ€™t Bighill. What does JY value really. Extra DL? Extra LB. Or maybe guys who are tweener types who maybe arenโ€™t the best at one thing but pretty good at something else like Ayers cuz dude is the sp teams demon, maybe that is more valued to the coaches than a guy who maybe isnโ€™t the sp teams dynamo but for 3 or 4 snaps a game, I mean honestly outside of Dixon and Jenkins, nobody really stood out on the d line. Reese did but heโ€™s prob the ideal pr guy. None of the extra DT did.
  18. Pretty much is tho. Bombers didnโ€™t want to pay him as much as Hamilton did. Hereโ€™s reality. The bombers could have offered 300,000 dollars per. Hamilton would offer 301,000. Lawler takes the 301. Thatโ€™s the guy he is. Heโ€™s a great player for 1/3 of the season. Heโ€™s just not for the other 2/3rds. The spectacular catches donโ€™t happen every game. But good for him. Wonder how much is guaranteed cuz almost 400 on a 34 yr old in 3 years might not age well.
  19. Iโ€™m not a Habs fan at all but looked like they were the team to beat. Not anymore. Things change quickly. I donโ€™t care who wins at all. Jets gone means no horse in race. Montreal was looking unstoppable. Like a team of destiny. Didnโ€™t know MacKinnon was hurt and didnโ€™t know Colorado is non playoff team bad without him.
  20. No one can match the turtle man.
  21. But that's not what happened
  22. (Paraphrased) When asked which would be worse, finding out his wife was cheating on him, or coaching a 9 win NHL team. Tom McVie replied: The team...At least I could tell my wife to stop.
  23. as per ratio...Its my understanding that 21 Canadians are required on game day....One of which is the nationalized American, so technically whatever American you use, be it WJ...T.White..or whever....doesn't actually have their spot count on roster as one of the 19 American spots ....correct?
  24. agreed...assess the roster, put it to task in TC and pick the 12 best on each side within ratio....then evaluate of you have sufficient coverage for injury at a Canadian position, and or ability to fill with an American back-up/DA and again have capable Canadian back-up that can slide in elsewhere, and not degrading the on field product in game to a pityful level We have seemed to have gotten away from that and filled roster with guys not capable of developing or stepping in...and were to rigid in where we played Canadians and have kept status quo and let a better American go, and played a lesser Canadian where we could have Americanized the spot and upgraded substantially and played a Canadian at a different spot and prob seen minimal to no drop off....and that assbackward way we did things eroded our roster, and has affected how we draft and recruit, tho it seems to maybe have switched a bit this yr....maybe....have to see how the first 3rd of season plays out
  25. In 6 seasons, he's only played 18 games once. He played 12/18 in Edmonton and 22/36 in his second stint here. He also had 5 games under 50 yards in those 12 he played with Edmonton. He lights the world on fire for 5-ish games in a year. Misses 1/3 of the games, and tends to be average in the remaining 1/3 ish. In Dalton's first 2 years here, he had 8 games under 50, only 1 was under 30, though, and only 1 was a single catch game. He still gave us the 5-ish games a season of pure dominance, but in the remaining nearly half a season, he was a strong, steady producer.
  26. Kenny is a one of a kind talent...You can't question his ability BUT a few years ago the Esks paid him a bundle to toil for them...As I remember he didn't finish the season because of injury....That's always a worry for every player but every player isn't being paid 333,000 ducats plus to perform...I hope I haven't hexed Kenny ...really like the guy and hope he fills the bill for them BUT that's a lot of cash to tie up in one player...Good luck Lawler ...except when he's trying to carve- up our db's
  27. Looks like your ride on the Habs bandwagon didn't last long. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  28. 4th ranked? Weird. Best nine win team ever.
  29. Jim Henson was not a billionaire. Also what does ghouls who donate to American politics have to do with anything? Usually genetics and general healthy lifestyles factor in longer lives. Billionaires also make a very small % of the total population so a comparison really isn't fair.
  30. With all great respect to our Zach and Strev men, itโ€™s a wrinkle we have been lacking for some time now. Would be fantastic to have it back.
  31. In the same way that anyone could go line up at DE... just because they put him there doesn't mean he's any good at it. As a linebacker and special teamer he's good, to very good... but he's not a DE and that's a horrible justification for keeping him around. My opinion on building a roster: start with your best Canadians in starting positions and fill in everything else around them ensuring that you have sufficient depth at all positions to account for rotations and the event of in game injuries.
