  6. say what you will about Kelly, the Fred Reid game in BC will always live in my memory ... watched it on a cheap little laptop from a hotel balcony in istanbul, drinking raki. Poor Javier Glatt. I was astonished he still had a career after chasing fast Freddie around all day. Mike used to have a great avvy of Phil Hunt about to obliterate Kevin Glenn. Wonder if one could make a similar one for Jones vs Brock
  7. I'd like to see what a different GM would do. Preferably from outside the organization but we never get the chance to find out.
  8. Just a few more days of peace & goodwill. I was dancing the rest of the game once the Bombers wiped out that Ti Cat lead.
  9. Unfortunately while very valid and rational, none of the things you just mentioned apparently seem to matter to Chevy, or the ownership, or perhaps too many Jets fans themselves. This whole organization seems to have turned into or perhaps always was, some sort of demented, malfunctional, vexing, affront to hockey fandom, and it’s too bad because Winnipeg Jets faithful deserves so much more than the “just be happy you have a team” approach this franchise seems to emanate any time someone questions the direction or lack or direction its management is going.
  10. Yesterday
  11. We got all of our anger against Dieter out of our system watching Tyrone Jones destroy him in the 1984 Grey Cup.
  12. Fair enough. I guess I don't see how getting the news on Jan. 2 makes it that much different.
  13. You can thank Noeller for that nickname. He can't spell Kolankowski. Lol. In 2 plus years.
  14. I got a job transfer to Calgary in 1990. Let me tell you that it was one of the most stressful things our family ever went thru. It took months to get settled plus my wife was pregnant & due in three months.
  15. That's not the same thing. He still has a job and TC is still several months away.
  16. That name cracks me up everytime. Kola in our dialect means something like 'just' or 'merely'
  17. Kola, Logan and Gauthier are good choices. Corcoran is likely going into year 2 of a rookie deal so they keep him, although I hope he's a 2026 camp cut.
  18. Guys I'd not re-sign. Stephan Logan, Chase Artoepus, Cody Case, Shayne Gauthier, Gavin Cobb, Joey Corcoran & Chris "Koaaala" Kolankowski.
  19. How many of these underperforming pets of O'Shea return will determine the fate of the 2026 Bombers, O'Shea and Walters.
  20. Like being fired at Xmas by your boss. It just isn't done. Till the first or 2nd week of january. Let players, like employees have Xmas with their families.
  21. Yeah, there's a few veterans getting long in the tooth which means they're expensive & don't contribute like they used to who should go.
  22. Morgan was almost certainly home with his loved ones, so the disruption would be minimal, if at all. Yes, we all make mistakes, but if someone repeats the same mistakes over a long period in defiance of negative consequences for self or others, it is a core personality facet and unlikely to change.
  23. Well if it means clipping some returnee's and or not resigning some currently unsigned guys from last yr..so be it...
  24. I didn’t read the article. Is Chevy fed up as well? If so what’s he going to do about it other than say it’s within them to correct this? How long does he wait to see if they correct this before making changes or does he remain status quo and trot out his previous accomplishments? How high is his expectations at this point of the current season?
  25. Another CFL great said some bad things about Winnipeg when he was traded to the Argos from the Bombers. D i c k Thornton was angry that he never got a chance to compete for the starting qb position with Ken Ploen (as he thought he was much better) & was an All Canadian Safety with the Bombers. He once paid a bunch of kids to carry signs around Winnipeg Stadium during a game saying, "We Want Thornton!" His blow ups on the practice field & Coaches office with Bud Grant were well known. Grant grew tired of the guy's antics & traded him to the Argos who were the worst team in the CFL at the time to teach him a lesson during the 1966 season. Thornton said to the Winnipeg media when he left, "The best thing about Winnipeg are the roads leading out of it." Interestingly enough, after Grant left Winnipeg at the end of 1966, he contacted Thornton & offered him a SS position on the MInnesota Vikings. The team he took over from Norm Van Brocklin. No offer to try to unseat Joe Kapp was forthcoming from Grant. Thornton declined & stayed with the Argos feeling his chances to make more $$ in the CFL was better than the Vikings as he was established. Thornton, I believe, never had another thing more to do with the Blue Bombers even as an Alumni.
  26. Looks good, expensive as heck most likely but good.
