Jets Prospects

Kyle Connor has 48 point in 27 games an average of 1.7787 points per game .

Dylan Larkin had 47 points in 35 games for the same team last year for an average of 1.343 points per game .

Jack Eichel had 71 points in 40 games in his last year of college for  an average of 1.775 points per game .

I see Connor making the team in the fall and actually signing in March and getting a couple of weeks on the Jets roster at the end of the season.

I am hoping to see Connor on one wing with Wheeler or Ehlers or Armia on the other wing with Scheif or Matthews at center.

Going forward... Connor Scheif Wheeler Armia Ehlers and Matthews/Laine/Puljujärvi look like a pretty solid top 6 for a few years.

Lemieux, Roslovic, Petan, Copp, Lowry, Harkins, De Leo,  Lipon, and Spacek will be fighting for roster spots sooner or later.

We have Comrie and Helle and Phillips for depth in goal and look to be set for some time.

Our D, on the other hand, needs some help on the depth. Besides Morrissey, there isn't much coming up the pike on the left hand side and I fully expect the Jets to take some LHD at this draft or trade for one by this time next year. There is Sami Niku and not much else. The RHD right now is very good but not a great deal coming up the pike. Hopefully Kostalek makes the team in at least a 3rd pairing position and hopefully Glover and/or Poolman and/or Nogier turn out.

Laine, Veslainen, Niku, Armia (am I forgetting anyone?) ...if they are all in the line up for the Jets trip to Finland next season, that should be a lot of fun.  Maybe they can find a reason to honor Teemu at that game as well!

Time to start calling us the Finnipeg Jets. :)

Putting the Laine in Vesalainen (I stole that line)

Never thought about the name coincidence.

The Two Laine's :D

Well this is exciting...

#NHLJets 17 yr Laine's last year in Liiga. 46GP, 17G, 16A, 33PTS.
18 yr Vesalainen this year in Liiga. 44GP, 19G, 20A, 39PTS.

I wonder what Laine would have done in the Finnish league as an 18 year old.

What about a year in junior? Wow.

7th round pick in 2017. LW

Too bad he is fun-sized but if there was ever a time that a munchkin could make the NHL, it's now.

Just look at what Yanni Gourde is doing in Tampa.

Yup. Even if he caps out as a good player for the moose it helps others develop.  Good to see talent all over though.

I believe that was Arjei Franklin.

Nic Petan had better stats with the Winterhawks... I'm not excited about his size.

Hes actually better than Petan. Petans issue is his lack of speed... Hes slow... McKenzie is not and likes to go to the dirty areas.. Nic avoids those.

Similar to Brendan Gallagher in Montreal in my opinion.

Ha, didn't you just finish bashing wbbfan for voicing an opinion on AJ Coney... but now you're an expert on Skyler McKenzie

I heard of McKenzie 4 years ago. Cuz i follow the W and hockey in general. This is not based on a 5 minute clip.
