iHeart Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 well after two straight days of baking I'll take a break from it and it's going to get colder the rest of the week (but a Thunderstorm is expected tomorrow....thank god it kind of smells out there)
Noeller Posted May 14 Report Posted May 14 Hope you guys get endless rain and snow... My backyard is burning to a crisp right now. Prayers for EastMan. rebusrankin 1
Mark H. Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 48 mm forecast for Thursday / Friday. The one silver lining in this drought that it has provided top notch planting weather. A shot of rain would kill the fires and get the crop growing. Noeller and Piggy 1 1 1

SpeedFlex27 Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 I remember the end of April or early May 1972 when I was in Grade 11. My father bought a used boat as we used to do a lot of fishing. Our other boat was just too small. It was pretty sweet with a 70 hp engine so I was excited. I volunteered to clean the boat inside & out as he wanted it ready to go Opening Day. I just about died in the heat cleaning the boat as temps were in the high 20's & low 30's.
Goalie Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 No snow in the forecast anymore. Rain tho. Rained 3 times now today. From 2 till about 3. From 830 to 850 and from about 930 to 950. Still smells like smoke to me. 11 hours ago, SpeedFlex27 said: I remember the end of April or early May 1972 when I was in Grade 11. My father bought a used boat as we used to do a lot of fishing. Cuz holy smokes that was a hot one. That one killed me a little bit. Felt it more than I would in July or August when it’s “normal” ish.
TrueBlue4ever Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Just got evacuated from the Whiteshell last night. Hopefully my home is still standing when I return. We need a solid steady downpour for a couple of days. Noeller and bigg jay 2
Noeller Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Brutal... I was just in/on Falcon last Saturday. Hard to comprehend everything that's happened.
Mark H. Posted May 15 Report Posted May 15 Rain is coming hard now. My app said it would come this evening, so we did a 3K run for Phys. Ed. - monsoon started on the back half. What doesn't kill you... It's amazing, the human resources and tech that go into monitoring and fighting forest fires. Then the whole situation is resolved by something as old as the planet...rain.

Outdoor pools aren't open. People haven't opened thir cottages. Plus that kind of heat just isn't normal. Things will get back into the swing of things this long weekend.
