Drew Freakin Willy

The Best QB this organization has had since my namesake Mr. Jones back 10 years ago. If these are just his first few learning curve games and he stays healthy (we need to build an oline to protect this asset) we are in for a good period here in Bomberland! Love it, "The Legend Of Drew Willy!" as TSN coined ;) OK I shouldn't drink so much ...

    6 touches for Grisgby?  Absurd...

A game that normally we lose.......but a QB that wins it for us.   Clutch plays under duress.  2 games now where Willy comes through in the last 2 minutes....

The defense kept a lot of points off the board and put 13 up themselves.   Willy led the miraculous drive to win, but Montreal wins easy if the Bombers give up a TD on one of the short fields afford

Washington should only be used for kickoffs not punts. That was the case last year as well!

It looked like Dinwiddie was getting the better of Marcel in the second half until that game winning drive, that was just clutch.

If we would use Cotton more on offence it would be worth it to bench Woods.... I think We need to bench Unamba for Stoudermire and let Stoudermire do Punts.

That's actually a pretty good idea, if the coaching staff is set on getting Cotton into the game. I still really like Woods, but he is a bit of a one trick pony and that might limit his chances of staying in the lineup on a consistent basis.

We should take the kickers off the roster too...one-trick ponies.

Dinwiddie wasn't afraid to mix it up and run reverses to the sides and getting the ball in the hands of Whitaker and Stafford while they were in full stride.

It felt like we had no plays where we utilized our speed.

I'd really love to be in film review this week just to learn some new curse words....

There were a few times last night where I thought Crowton had snuck back into the booth...

That's a terrible comparison

If we can get a reliable returner that could back up and provide depth on defence why wouldn't we try it? Stoudermire could also fill Unambas role on coverage teams as well... It's a no brainer IMO. He'd be much more valuable to the roster than Woods is, who can't do anything but return.

First time game plan looked questionable. ...OL looked like 2013....

That's just an ignorant comment. Comparing apples to oranges. Surprised someone with your knowledge would make that comment. I love Woods, but the smaller rosters in the CFL sometimes make getting guys like him on the roster.

Special teams specialists.  All apples.  Woods is a receiver too.  Have we used any DI's on offence?  Didn't see Cotton out there last night.  Is Unamba playing defense anymore?  He was terrible in the first two games when he saw some snaps.  He's basically a specialist now too.  There are 4 DI's.  A guy who does all returns should be pretty easy to fit on the roster, especially if special teams are a priority, which they should be.

First and foremost, we need somebody who is going to make positive plays for us, first step in that regard is to secure the ball.  It's too important to play around with.

Calling Woods a one-trick pony was ignorant, completely disregarding the importance of special teams.  Especially ignorant the day after a 1 point game in which 6 opposition points (which could have pretty easily been 14 given where the drives started) came directly as a result of flubbed punt returns.

Seemed like MB really drifted away from his gameplan early... we had a great call on a sweep to Nick Moore that was called on I believe a Howard procedure penalty...

After that, MB called slants and hooks and ran up the middle for the WHOLE game...  Real insight into how playcalling can make an OL look decent or absolutely terrible...

Unamba is an American who's only good at special teams coverage, which is more of an example of why we should get him off the roster.

Stoudermire is a good returner, and is capable of filling in for Unamba as well as being a back up DB.

Why would we need to back up receiver with a DI when we have good Canadian receivers? We have zero good Canadian RB's and frankly, Cotton looked a hell of a lot better than Woods on KR's anyway.

Why waste a DI spot on woods when we can have just as good returning and add better depth to the roster as well?

Let me know when we have just as good returning with someone else.  Haven't seen it yet.  Cotton and Ford can't handle punts.  Washington can catch punts sometimes, careless with the ball.  Stoudermire wasn't a punt returner in college.  Can he catch punts?  Catching punts is a skill in itself.  We can't have two turnovers a game just so we have a guy who can stand on the sidelines and wait for someone to get hurt to play O or D.

You obviously weren't at training camp and have no idea what you're talking about in relation to Woods! He caught everything thrown to him in TC! What an ignorant comment!

If Grigsby gets hurt first quarter, our offence will be screwed if we don't have a decent back up.... Would be a good way to get Willy hurt with the opposing defence teeing off on him

DI'ing Woods just to catch punts seems like a waste. We really should see if Stoudermire can do it first. (Doesn't have to be in a game)

Washington and Cotton are both better at returning kick offs

We benched Woods for no reason - he hadn't dropped anything, Washington had one great return and everyone (including the CFL) fell back in love with him...

Rookie coaching mistake - put Woods back in, stop 'tinkering'... no big deal

Classic bomber fans - we're all swooning for backups/prospects... Cotton, Goossen, Stoudemire, Peach, etc etc

Because catching passes in practice against a bunch of DBS who aren't even in the league is just a phenomenal accomplishment. And he was also far from consistent from what I heard correctly.. Were you at every single practice?

I'm swooning for Cotton...but over Grigsby.

It's a conundrum for sure.

Woods, for as much as he gets criticized, was just short of being terrific on returns.

How much worth do we put into reliability?

The price we paid to get Cotton into the lineup was the removal of Woods and his reliability…and it almost cost us.

But we do have to figure how to get Cotton into the lineup without disturbing the Blue Force to any extreme.

It's nice to have that kind of problem instead of worrying who to plug in because we have to.

Everyone agrees it was a mistake to have Washington doing the punt returning. What I disagree with is taking Cotton off the roster before seeing if Stoudermire or Cotton can do punt returns

JBR nailed it, inability to catch punts almost cost us a game. Need somebody more reliable there. If its Woods, great. If its Stoudemire, great. Just need to fix it.

I don't even feel I need to defend it because I see it as total truth. You really think woods would be of any use to us at receiver in a real game against starting caliber defensive backs in this league?

Just because he caught a few balls against some no name DBS that I can't even remember there names in PRACTICE, does not mean he is a good receiver... Sorry to burst your bubble
