maybe next season will be the last, it has kind of ran it's course and the fact that CBS cannot find a place on the schedule is a sign that maybe it should end

Every time I watch a new episode of Westworld, I start to think its not as good as last season (it's very, very different).  By the end of the episode, my mind is blown again.  Amazing show.

Also, I dont think anyone mentioned the return of Trading Spaces, including with original host Paige Davis (damn, she's still gorgeous and so cheery).  I didnt want to like it but the gf loves it and I have to admit, its a fun show.  Useless trivia, Paige Davis used to be married to Patrick Page.  So, if she changed her name, she was Paige Page for awhile.

Every  IT person must be watching Silicon Valley.... the show is absolutely hilarious.

I've only watched one episode so far.  It was ok.  Haven't gotten around to watching more yet.

I said Roseanne sucked last week.  It was a lot better this week.  Really funny and had a serious topic (painkiller addiction).

Finished the Docuseries Evil Genius on Netflix.  Really good.  Its about the famous Pizza Bomb case where a guy robbed a bank with a bomb attached to his neck,  He was stopped by the cops who handcuffed him and as they waited for the Bomb squad, he claimed he had been attacked and forced to wear the Bomb...it went off and killed him.  And thus began a wild investigation.  It was great.  4 episodes, easy to watch.

Westworld Season 2

Spoiler

I'm well into the second episode of Season 2. What a bizarre season this will be.

I'm not sure I like the idea of the showdown between the hosts and humans.

I liked seeing Delores in the "big, modern, city".

I didn't care for the William story arc until we learned the back story. Now I'm really curious to see where it goes.

I have to say, I'm always cautious about these types of shows after following the muddled mess that was Lost. I'm hopeful that there will be a good payoff.

I assumed that Westworld was in US, until Season 2 tells me it's not.

I'm not exactly sure how Bernard is able to dupe everyone into believing he is human and not a host.

Last ep was great but still over the place. I'm like whose this chick that Bernard came upon.

Ill answer in Spoiler so as not to spoil it for people who arent up to date on Season 2

Spoiler

Elsie?  She was in Season 1.  I believe she worked for Quality Assurance or was a Programmer, cant recall.  But she was investigating why the Hosts were acting strangely.  She disappeared after uncovering the fact a host had been outfitted with info that was being off-loaded via sattelite to...somewhere.  She re-appeared when Bernard found her.

You referenced Lost.  Interestingly, JJ Abrams produced both.  But Lost was badly damaged by the writers' lack of planning.  They admitted to creating mysteries that they didnt know the resolution to.  With Westworld, I believe the writers know exactly where they're going with everything.  Its a lot more focused than Lost was.

I'm not sure what WIlliam's long play is.

Spoiler

At the beginning of the season they seemed to indicate they were capturing DNA from the guests which led me into thinking maybe they were cloning and replacing certain business guests for a Delos advantage.

In the last ep though it was about putting human memories in a robot body.

Either way there's no indication the process lasts past a month after 40 years of trying.

And what of William? Real or clone? Was he not shot twice?

Spoiler

The first gun shot was the more serious, in the season one finale, so we were left wondering about his fate.  He "cheated" and retrieved a modern first aid kit from one of the old west locations.  The second gun shot was a glancing blow.  He's a tough SOB.

I think Delos' idea was to create immortality.  Its possible Mr Delos' and William had divergent motives.  We saw how William was affected by Delores in the past and then sort of had that realization she wasn't real (when he went back and saw her loop start over and realized her feelings for him werent real).  Mr Delos was obviously sick.  William convinced him to buy Westworld so its possible William convinced him off the benefit (personal AND financial) of creating immortality, either to sell to people or for nefarious purposes.  But William might have had a more altruistic motive.  We were sort of led to believe he felt for the hosts.  That obviously changed over the years.

Mr Delos was in on it, as his host thought he was real (had the original's memories) and said "I didnt recover" so he knew what the plan was.

Im thinking Ford might have secretly perfected the ability to put a human mind into the Hosts, probably to screw with William and Delos.  But recall, Bernard said last episode that Ford sent him to retrieve a...whatever he called it, a control device for a new host.  WHO will that turn out to be?
