Free agency predictions?

May as well ...

As for the Bombers, I'm predicting three notable signings.

Rory Kohlert, Swayze Waters and one of the big four non-imports (Laurent, Butler, Bourke and Emry) with my money being on Bourke.

  • That's true. With all this Free Agency talk, I actually had to look up what Free Agency actually meant and was surprised to learn that it was an annual event.

  • Refreshing that our new management might actually dive into free agency, and make some offers.... instead of just re-signing everyone from the previous season and thinking that is good enough.

    Big disappointment

Looks like it's 2 - 3rd rounders.

#Stampeders ship NI DL Justin Phillips to #RedBlacks for two third-round draft picks. Phillips reunited with Rick Campbell. #CFL

That is a really bad trade for Ottawa.

They dealt swapped 3rds this year and handed Calgary a 3rd in 2015 (a good draft) for a guy at the end of his career who has never been more than a rotational DE and struggled to stay healthy for much of his career.  They'll get less for Glenn.  If this is how Desjardins is valuing picks, Ottawa is screwed.

Apparently Phillips asked for a trade to Ottawa.

Well then Desjardins had no choice.

Apparently Phillips asked for a trade to Ottawa.

Which makes it even worse for Ottawa.  They should have got him for basically nothing.

An imminent announcement expected about Bourke re-signing with the Larks. A swing and a miss (again). Sad, but not surprising.

The announcement is already official. He re-signed before FA started. Nothing anyone could have done.

I guess once Popp knew Emery was leaving he had more $$ to sign Bourke.

I expect Montreal to go all out and try to sign Muamba if he returns.

Could be, but I'm pretty certain Winnipeg will get him back.

There are certain things teams can do to position themselves well to bring back a guy if he comes back from the NFL. Winnipeg has done all of them.

Muamba is never coming back

Muamba is never coming back

I feel like you're probably right.

Good for him though, he deserves it.

Verdict from Riderfans is in .......

Losing Butler is really no big deal because they already have great CDNs that can play LB and safety and, really, 150 thousand is too much, Taman was smart not to cave in to demands.

Carry on...

Muamba is never coming back

Agreed, knowing our luck we'll cut Cauchy the day before the Colts cut Henoc.
