Official Expansion Draft Day Thread

Today marks a historical day.  Eight teams will look a little different after today, and the last one will start forming some shape.  Should be interesting.

TSN's coverage is not official as they are not capitalizing REDBLACKS.

  • disappointed to lose miles, he showed some real potential last year but on the other hand receivers are pretty straightforward to find.

  • If you trust a guy, and you trust that he'll go along with a side-deal that says "...Listen, we want you, but we can't protect everyone. You're a FA, so we're going to leave you unprotected and hopefu

Feb 15 will be in same spot quarterback wise.

highly doubt it.

even if a bigger name isn't brought in via FA (and i think that one will), you won't have Buck blocking the progress of the prospects.

Interestingly, this Ottawa Redblacks team is much better than the 2013 Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Only if you're in some kind of bizzaro world.  They have one starting quality NI in Shologan.  Almost all of their OL are damaged goods or failed prospects, a couple are still prospects.

Hage and Eppele would stroll into the Bomber O-Line.

Hage is done with the knee injury.  Eppele will have a long career in a 9 team league, but is he anything more than an average guard.  Not yet.  You could put Morley in Eppele's jersey and Eppelle in Morley's and you wouldn't know the difference aside from Morley's gut.

The same spot as Ottawa is what I meant

Hage (when available) is better than anything NI Wpg has on the line. So is Eppele and he's still improving. Equating him with Morley is baffling. Total disservice to Eppele.

to wit: a guy who was behind Eppele on our O-Line depth chart (Parenteau) strolled into your line... and you think Eppele wouldn't??

bluto over rating argo players? say it ain't so!

Eppele I'd get on board with. Hage? Fat chance.

Video of Kevin Glenn watching the draft. Seems really excited to finally be the clear cut guy in a place and not be the second or third choice.

Morley and Swiston were injured when Parenteau dressed as our 6th OL in Edmonton.

Losing Lavoie was a kick in the nuts for MTL - guy was a monster on STs. Overall CAL takes it in the arse the worst, imo.

Word of the day….stroll.

Awfully close to another word I know.

Didn't he miss most of the season with PCS?

Ottawa didn't get many guys who are without pretty major question marks, although the talent level isn't bad.

Wow the volume of gay imagery being tossed around in this thread is like listening to Rod Black watch a Sam Giguere highlight reel.

Which I find ironic, as the TSN panel was touting them as all guys with a long way to go on their careers and no injury history..

Hage isn't done. If there was an injury concern then Ottawa would never have taken him. He'll be the starting center in Ottawa for the nest 3 or 4 years.

TOR leaving Pottinger unprotected was a moderate surprise.

No way in hell.

Another guy with a checkered injury history though.

That's an awfully bold prediction considering he's been quoted as saying he's not even sure he'd report to them. That situation aside, there's no way Hage has 3 years of starters mileage left in him.

Not even sure he'd even be starting one year even if he did report.

In Ottawa he's also a lot closer to home and all of his Tim Horton's franchises.
