Lots of guys going to get chopped from all 8 rosters by midnight tonight... looks like the Stamps went first:

The Calgary Stampeders have released the following players:

·Importoffensive lineman Leonardo Bates
·Importreceiver Josue Paul
·Importreceiver Shaky Smithson
·Importreceiver Terence Jeffers-Harris
·Importdefensive lineman Aronde Stanton
·Importlinebacker Rod Davis
·Importdefensive back Jerett Sanderson
·Importdefensive back Jalil Johnson

i guess Rod Davis couldn't stay healthy and TJH was made expendable by young guys...

The Argos have also released the lone remaining DB veteran on the roster Pacino Horne allegedly to allow him to pursue NFL interests... don't know about that, but he was seen in the parking lot at practice yesterday complaining loudly about needing to get paid. Some wonder if he tried to use the lack of returning vets in our secondary as leverage for a raise.

wow having an entirely green secondary is something else.

Jalil Carter covered for Watkins in the final 2 playoff games and did well. Watkins' "personal issues" hopefully are resolved soon, he's a big-play guy.

but yeah... i hate replacing an entire secondary 2 seasons in a row. hopefully Jones can pull another rabbit out of his hat.

Pacino Horn sounds rather douchey.  You wonder why he would want to leave the douchiest team in the CFL.  He must fit them like a glove.

not a great attitude to have. it will be very telling to me if we do not pursue Hefney. if we don't, i can only conclude that Jones is happy with what we have.

For a lot of reasons, I hope Jones gets his comeuppance. At some point... His defense get their collective asses handed to them over a season. Lost all respect for him the way he bailed on the Stamps & the way he went about it. Karma's a *****.

Argo cut list

K/P Anthony Alix, NIP, St. Francis Xavier
WR Tyler Beiler, IMP, Bridgewater College
DL Jeremy Geathers, IMP, UNLV
WR Quincy Hurst, NIP, Manitoba
DB Djems Kouame, NIP, Montreal
DL Antonio Leak, IMP, Henderson State
FB Mike Montoya, NIP, Wilfrid Laurier
RB Quinn Porter, IMP, Stillman College
LB Jake Reinhart, NIP, Guelph
LB Paul Spencer, NIP, Concordia
CB Pacino Horne, IMP, Central Michigan

Geathers is a bit of a surprise... many of us thought that he and Donte Paige-Moss (another, early surprise cut) would be our import DEs

Quincy Hurst looked good and drew praise but apparently got hurt in the Bomber game... no details on that that i can find

Alix may stick on the practice roster

Horne was the big surprise yesterday

Kouame was switched to DB (he was drafted as a receiver) but maybe was made expendable by Gabriel?

Reggie Williams still hanging in...
