  • Zach had played well this season when coming back froM injury (at least for a half). Dru looks great off the bench. The solution is easy. Zach starts, plays the first half, gets hurt. Dru comes on in

Does anybody actually think changes would have came if we miss the playoffs?

You make a fair point.

What are the expectations, mantra of this club’s management and coaching staff with this season and the seasons to come in a nine team league?

Win now, win it all or we need to get better each game and stay the course? Two different approaches that impact culture and accountability in two different ways.

If we're one & done then making a playoff spot will just be an extra game on the schedule. We could go on a playoff run & win the Grey Cup but really the chances of that are probably astronomical. Look at the path ahead in the West & in the East. Some of these teams like the Lions (with Rourke & his receivers), Elks & Alouettes are just on another level from us.

I see that you're finally coming around... Changes are needed but as long as the Bombers finish no worse than 9-9 it'll be more of the same in 2027 with Osh & Walters. The great coaches & GMs like Buono, Hufnagel & Murphy accepted nothing less than the best from their players. Expectations were high. If players didn't play at a high level consistently on the field then they were replaced. They coached & managed using fear as a motivator. They weren't the players friends. They weren't their surrogate fathers. You had to produce or else.

I heard many stories about Don Matthews. He was considered a player's coach. Supposedly players loved playing for him as he was a winner. Until such time as they made too many mistakes. Or didn't play well. Then he was cut throat. He had no problems cutting a veteran that he may have a shared a drink or two with the night before.

To me, there's too much favouritism on the Bombers. The players are too comfortable. Osh has his favourites. He's slow to adapt to change. We have to change but we're a playoff team now so what changes, if any, will happen? Probably not a lot.

It was Don Matthews. It was a drink or ten...

Tbh, If we didnt fix the ol and tc earlier, I think we would've just hurt brown. Now if we had made the multiple changes needed at OC, Wr, and OL and brown, then we for sure would've been in a much better position.

And to be clear I'm not trying to put blame on brown, but at the same time not going to credit him as why we made the playoffs. The team had a lot of problems

Nothing changed for me despite the win. bombers were losing to a scrub team because, I think, that the team has lost confidence in Collaros. Brown may not be the second coming of Doug Flutie, but to me, with a decent OC and O-line in front of him PLUS good receivers, he would have done a helluva lot better than he has. This team can only will in spite . of the coaches/coordinators. No matter what happens next weekend, , it is still time for heads to roll.

There’s a few positives at least I’ll say. Major Williams is an absolute dog. Tested often, nearly ever gives up a big play. Infact he’s top 5 in the league in pass knock downs; joining Willie and Holm. I know our defense has had its fair share of issues this season but they ended up finishing with the second least amount of yards given through the air. Williams and Holm were outstanding this year. Major is a weird one because I’m not sure if it’s a case of him not quite being quick enough or if it’s on purpose so he can break on the ball to make a play but he often initially looks beat and then he comes in last second to break up the play. Like I don’t think I’ve ever seen a great DB be targeted that often but the thing is he almost never ends up allowing the receiver to catch the ball despite looking open until the very last moment

Doug Brown or Dru Brown, either of them would have been an upgrade over Collaros.
