Jefferson and Jake C....did what we should have done in 25'....put pressure on their over hyped qb

Vaval .....a few more games like he had last night and I'll finally get over missing Grant

Castillo.....mr. money ...A lot of pressure on that final kick and he came through'''

....Condell for mapping out some sound strategy....

Great to get the win but lots of warts. It is also the CFL where it is not how you start but how you play after labor day!

  1. Jake Ceresna. Pretty quiet on the first few series. Absolute animal the rest of the way. Really opened things up for Willie and I'm sure as they get more comfortable with each other it will open up more as the year goes on.

  2. Trey Vaval. His return helped flip the game and him letting the ball go over his head and out of the back of the endzone before the final drive was a premier example of knowing the rules and great special teams coaching.

  3. Brady. Just rock solid. Also loved the usage by Condell given his pass first tendencies on first down historically.

HH: Offensive line. Pretty underwhelming first half. Second half pass protection was a night and day difference and a TREMENDOUS blitz pick-up on the deep pass to Pokey to start the final drive.

Not anymore when the season starts in May.

James was a beast like Oliveira. Never was fully appreciated by Bud Grant. They didn't get along.

Still true when everyone makes the playoffs!

One of the things I appreciated was that Elsbury played better than initially feared, and even Pat Neufeld played better without having to cover for Kolankowski. Elsbury is not an all-star (yet) and I wonder why Eli was good enough to come in for several plays (and did well) but not good enough to start at center. We do need to upgrade the linebacking, though.

Eli has been here 5 6 seasons. I think he is what he is at this point. Lots of us didn’t think Eli would be starting. In reality they decided kolo was the better center option than Eli. I think ppl need to accept that maybe Eli just isn’t a starting oline. Other than cuz ppl online said so, what makes you think after 5 6 seasons of backing up the worst center in the league that he’d be better than the dude he was backing up. Maybe just maybe, crazy thought, the OL coach Marty, maybe he knows why Eli isn’t starting and really hasn’t in his career. I’ll let ppl pretend they know linebackers or DBs or receivers but fans pretending to be oline gurus? Cmon man gotta draw the line somewhere.

The season starts with four games left? Okay but you realize some teams have two byes in Sptember & October... The playoff change is dumb as a sack of hammers. Winning is too easy??? Johnson should suit up & try it.

I’ll just say this, generally in the sports that do these kinda play in playoffs like basketball and others, the bad teams still lose their games. The better teams win overall. Some teams get help from a pro wrestling vampire like character and don’t lose again. And honestly the idea I think makes sense as if I hear playoff game as a fan I think it’s more important and it likely means there’s a higher chance I pay money to go see the playoff game. Look at Hamilton and Ottawa this past week. They were half empty or half full, maybe if that’s aplayoff game it’s full cuz maybe there is no next week. I don’t think you can say cfl needs more revenue then go no not that way. I dunno. Again, I think you said it in another post, gotta give the changes a chance.

eli has missed a lot of tc, he isnt 100% yet, plus rust and need to get into game shape.

by the time he is where he needs to be, it will likely be too late to get a starting spot imo.

We have the two kids rights in the nfl, with a pretty good chance of atleast one being here mid season.

We’ve already given up on rando, so writing is gonna be on the wall for the likes of eli.

They really like Eli tho and what he does overall....and he likes it here and wont hold them over the coals SMS wise so I doubt they get rid of him for any reason...And I still think he takes over center....Overall team benefit/value it just makes sense and there wont be any major drop off...I liked we ran 2 TE sets with him and Danial's with both running out doing outs into the flats at the same time...Be interesting once we start using that

I curious tho about Practice report/injury report today...if we get any and what we may do at linebacker.....Woodbey for sure is out and I know Smith went out after his big special teams hit and never came back to play, but stayed dresssed...likely precaution as he got his bell rung on the hit.

If he is good to go I wonder if we replace Woodbey with another dline guy, or go the WR route?

Also Hoping Dixon is OK as he was starting to get in a groove/rythm, but that being said if Fletcher can come on in early games...and make it too difficult to pull him then could easily see him and Dixon on roster. We dont need another LB on with Ayers...Wilson...Jones..griffin...Shay...SMith....and I thik the reason we saw so much Kelly is because he is the backup to Smith so was taking Smith's defensive reps
