Mace's saving grace, at least for now, is that his predecessor was so bad that Mace looks and sounds better by comparison and has the onerous task of changing the team culture.

kinda failing at that...still get moocho penalties and a lot of the players there still act likeassbags on feild...heck even he does at times on the sidelines....like he still one the boys....exuberance and what not is nice....but you a coach now....

I definitely think the Stamps are better than the Riders... For the simple fact that VA is a better QB than Trevor Harris at this point. Now, having said that, Beggleton is a huge loss for them on offense. 

At any rate, it's the Bombers and then everyone else way down the list.

The Stamps secondary has played well so far. VA is a solid QB. VA has Offensive Interference Rhymes to toss the ball too.

Yeah. Their D is good especially in the front 6. And their ol/run game is really good. They, like us, missed the boat on the next wave of young QBs though. 
 I think it’ll be another coaching change and a younger than dirt qb before they are front runners again. But that, could start to happen in the off season. I don’t think mace will get tons of leash.

Yup... Lots. Going to be interesting tonight. Headed in to Calgary in about 15 minutes. Wade and the team are hosting a Manitoba Ex Pats Tailgate party before hand, which should be fun.

That’s really cool. Nice to know Calgary has put some effort into this promotion, I thought it was gonna be half assed at best. 

Fwiw, some light rain on our way in to the city right now, but supposed to clear off as the evening progresses. Not expecting the monsoon the Stamps has a couple weeks ago...

No, watching the game at home. I have mobility issues. I can go to games at PAS but I stopped going to Stamps games 3 or 4 years ago. Too hard to get around. Steep stairs with no handrails for balance & safety. I have to stay in my seat at halftime as it's too much of  hassle to get to the lower concourse where the concessions & bathrooms are. Too far to walk with a cane where we used to park our car. Just a ******* old barn that should be torn down. Eisenhower was President & Diefenbaker was PM when that place was built. In Winnipeg, we have two elevators, upper & lower concourses & the grandstands don't have 60 rows to climb.

yeah....that place is a lawsuit waiting to happen...hopefully they can rectify things there with a new stadium or some kind of wholesale overhaul...I hear its close to a sell out there??

I would be SHOCKED unless they papered it very heavily, which is a possibility. Nobody goes to Stamps games anymore. They've taken to tarping off some of the upper deck. 

The Bombers gave away 1,000 tix to Bombers fans who donated to Red Cross for wildfire relief. So wouldn't surprise me if this is very heavily papered.

I don't think there'll be more than 18,000 there. Plus thunder clouds are gathering on the horizon as I type this. It's also Sneak A Peek Night at the Stampede which officially starts tomorrow morning with the Stampede Parade. Admission tonite into the Stampede is half price. This was the evening we used to took our kids to the Stampede when they were little to save money. So, the Stamps decided to compete with that. If I had a family, I know where I'd be. 

What’s going on in Alberta with the elks and stamps attendance. Is it all stadium is crap related ???  Would that actually fix the problems. 
 

stamps have lots of new faces. Eventually that will catch up on them. 
 

bombers historically not great in Calgary tho. Especially in potential rainy weather. It’s plus 32 here so maybe they can quickly get on a plane and reschedule;)

Stamps need a new stadium and a winning team... And that would just be to break even. This just isn't a good CFL town. 

The LOLks don't need a stadium as much as they need a winning team again. Edmonton is more of a CFL town than Calgary for sure. They're ready to cheer for something...

They meant how the air tastes.

If they're looking to make the stampede bowl a thing they are probably better off playing it in the afternoon on a weekend. Not sure you're gonna outdraw all the other activities that happen in the evening during stampede.

I think being the night before Stampede was intentional. Anything DURING Stampede (starts tomorrow), day or night, is gonna be a tough sell, like you say, b cause of everything else going on.
