2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

I've been off the football sites mostly since the Bombers season ended.

Can someone tell me about the trap ball controversy in the BC sask game?

No controversy really. Some bc types thought there was a trapped ball on the riders winning td. It wasn't and bc sucks because they firstly had 2 possessions to gain a first down and kill the clock and failed and then failed to stop the riders from marching for a winning score.

Bc truly does suck.

Everyone deserves more respect than is often dishes out around here to various players and coaches. And, again, to be perfectly clear about it, that includes me.... I know I've been guilty of it.

Oh yeah, you've soooooooooo respectful to the Riders & their fans over the years.

Doman was on X saying it wasn't a catch.

Quite the extensive list. I'm sure lots of guys will want to cash in on the championship success.

Good luck keeping the band all together.

basically their whole wr core lol. Im sure meyers will get an NFL look, but he'd be great to have. Aj allen too, that guy is hitting FA at the right time, and off a big year.

Ya Allen is going to get paid.

I've always liked/hated Emilus. He'd be a nice add.

I am absolutely in love with AJ Allen as a player. I'm not sure we ever go after that position in FA but I think he's just super intelligent, which is the key to success in this league.

Wynton, Beverrette, and Judge are all right around 200k. If he is willing to entertain anything under 200k, every team without one of those 3 should be calling him. At 170-185k he would bring incredible value for any team. I mean for us, we could flip two lber spots to NI. Now if he's in the 210+ thats a big much for a one year guy. I do really like his game though.

🤣 Wow, Edmonton is just throwing money away as fast as they can. If Smith and Ford set the market for Canadians, Brady is gonna need about 350k a year from someone.

Me too and he has the right passport.

thats why you pooch Kramdi...Holm...Thomas...and free up over 500k right there on defence,  use entry level studs...or first contract guys already inhouse to man those spots....easily done

That's their whole bloody team. Yeah, good luck O'Day keeping the team together after winning the GC. Everyone will want a raise. Some substantially. They'll be one & done.

Spending like Hervey does really did them well last season. But, is it worse than not spending at all? Then losing our top free agents & signing virtually no one like we did?

Dillon Mitchell and Peyton Logan didn't do much for us, unfortunately, but they were considered decent gets when we picked them up. I suppose Logan is on a 2 yr contract, he may yet pan out. Obviously I'd rather have kept Kenny over the both of them.

I'd get rid of Logan.

Vaval has  good shot at getting an nfl offer in the window though. If vaval is back, i’d dump logan. If he isn’t, id be looking for another proven kr to compete for the spot.

Logan was hurt early and then Vaval took his job & never gave it back- he may have added something if he ever got to see the field.  Mitchell was a bust for sure though.

I’m assuming Mr. Mitchell will be released?

One year deal so no need to release him.

Then I’m thinking our gm is scratching his name off the list in who he’d like to re-sign.

To be fair this is what everyone said about the bombers after 2019 and 2021.

we had a lot of guys tho in prime...and had some yrs ahead of them still

This Sssk squad was a win now or be out of the running for a while....They not in a position roster wise to run it back multiple yrs...so there's a difference there...

If we do a legit re-tool...moreso in the way we go about things roster/player wise....hire a real OC...I can see the west next yr being a B.C/us battle for 1st....with Stamps pushing...

That's a big if tho as first look to me...I don't see a lot of deviation ....but it is early....but we also should have already been on record with who is not being brought back...player and coach's....

Trevor Harris is 40 years old and stayed healthy.... we think that's gonna repeat or that he won't fall off a cliff at some point? Or maybe even retire.

Bombers didn't have 45 free agents all wanting a raise after those years.

Ya Sask greatly benefited from a healthy Harris this year. That isn't the norm for him either.

Emilus is another guy that I'd love to see Winnipeg add. (I know the Riders will make signing him a priority).

I also like Nield from Sask..thought he came up with some clutch catches..would add depth at least.
