2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

I could 100% see Osh going home and taking both Zach and Brady with him... Tho Zach is under contract so it'd have to be some kinda trade.

Or he takes JY and dinwiddie goes after brady to reunite with brown in ott.

If he tries that....I'd promote JY immediately and give him full control of the defence...and it would be glorious

Yeah, JY and Costello are the only guys I really don't wanna lose.

To tell you the truth I wouldn’t mind a new OC and DC next year, Hogan gone is a no brainer but I didn’t like the schemes Younger was running

Maybe but this rush 3 delay blitz try and cover isn’t going to work, maybe we do need more talent but they are going to have to shed a lot of deadwood off that D

does need tweaking...and influx of talent

But 3 man rush with some dirty dawgs is effective...especially with a Jack who is on search and destroy

And DB's who dont get lost on a crowd of 9th graders

It all starts with the line we need to get substantially better.

I can see O’Shea going back home, can also see ZC wanting to back out east, but Brady I don’t see it

I have this feeling that he and his agents see him as a major star pro athlete and would like to see him in a bigger spotlight... A major market. They want to try and market him like Connor McDavid, Austin Mathews, Kawhi Leonard, etc....

If Toronto is looking for a replacement I know a real up-and-coming offensive co-ordinator that might fit.

And I know a whole lot of people who will help him pack!

going to T.O would make him invisible

Toronto could not care less about the CFL.

BO basically said he is in it to win it...and with that he wants to be in a place where the cast around him is a supporting cast...players and coaches to get it done....so effectively him being our marquee player without saying it as such "show me you ready to get real and do this right" or I'm taking my ball and going where someone else is

Shot across the bow so to say and rightfully so, and good on him...Someone had to say it...

JY took a defensive unit with no ability to get pressure from the DL, or gap cancel, and gave up the fewest opposition points and tds in the league. Not to mention we ran away with the league lead on offensive give aways, leaving our D in a terrible field position field.  They also played among the most minutes as our off was among the worst in 2nouts. We also gave up the fewest first downs. 2nd lowest passing yards against, lowest completion percentage against. 2nd best in terms of opposition QBR. We had the lowest of TDs per drive given up on D in the league by a large margin.

Worst front 6 in the league by a mile, and he gave us one of the best defenses in the league. Not only that, he did the same thing last year. Both years, he had to wholly rebuild our secondary mid season.

If we had a decent DL, and didn't use all our DIs on special teams, his D the last two years would've been 21 levels of dominant maybe even more so.

We are all hoping and praying you are correct. Maybe we can crowd-fund Hogan's one-way busfare?

yup....arguably the worst defensive front in recent history...2 yrs running when you really look at it...

Hopefully OC Guy just packs up his Volkswagen Beetle and leaves voluntarily...I dont know what he drives...But that's what I see him in

We ran the 30 significantly less this last year than the previous year. Our front play was basically entirely different. The previous year we used a wide alignment hoping ends could win a battle. This year we used a tight alignment to close the middle.

The delay blitz, is a play adjustment based on what the offence does. Lber has HCF zone, if the qb rolls or is flushed he becomes a rusher. The actual delayed blitz was extremely low use from JY, and the Lber blitz package was a tiny fraction of previous years.

2 years ago JY made a D with a new secondary that dominated opposition passing games. But teams eventually adjusted to the drop 9 rush 3. This year, we ran the drop 9 match zone much less that we ran last year. Calgary ran our previous years base D much more than we did. The secondary JY managed to cobble together could not work the switches and split field zones to save their life. So he again had to recreate the entire D, mid season.

Tbh, what JY did the last 2 seasons is the most impressive thing I've ever seen from a DC up here. If we fix the ratio, roster the best players, and give him a DL who can get a farts worth of pressure next year that D will carry us.

When you look at the stretch where wj wasn't able to accomplish any thing, and we ran 2 canadian DTs with korny on the ar playing primary reps its truly astounding how good the D ended up performing. That was the most pitiful DL I've ever seen pound for pound at any level. I've seen junior teams do better with no more than 1 guy over 200 lbs on their dl.

I think the scheme was fine, you just need the right guys up front to make it work. So this goes to who is responsible for that

Could be personnel, I just saw way to many play with no pressure no coverage and poor tackling, especially down the stretch.

that added to it...that also gets don to the coaching and lack there of...and minimal practices when you could have had more per week and not violated PA rules....and lack of actual focus and teachings of thihs in practice...just assuming things would "work out"

Poor all around how this team was ran...and constructed

Had a few seasons of top players...on their prime...on the cheap in some instances....and a better roster than the other teams...and they had a bit of success....let it all erode...got complacent and lazy...slide to the depths we at

Almost 3 yrs ago i said it's coming...seen it before...been thru it....an if certain things continued we would see what has happened and quickly....and all the "yah buts" mean jackshit...and low and behold
