2025 CFL (Non-Bombers) Season

From 3DN about TSN broadcasts this year....

"The CFL on TSN is taking a renewed approach to its broadcasts for 2025.

The network’s panel will travel to all nine stadiums over the course of the upcoming season, sources told 3DownNation, including visits to Regina and Montreal in Week 1. Kate Beirness is returning to host the panel with Henoc Muamba and Davis Sanchez filling the main roles alongside her.

Paul LaPolice will also frequently appear on the panel, though he will also perform colour commentary for one game per week. As previously reported, longtime panelist and Hall of Fame quarterback Matt Dunigan is no longer with the network.

As for Milt Stegall, who has been with the network since 2009, there is no timeline for his return after the death of his eldest son, Chase. The 20-year-old died unexpectedly at DePaul University on Monday where he was a member of the school’s soccer team.

“Our CFL on TSN family is absolutely devastated over Chase’s passing. If you know Milt, you know that his family is everything to him, and we cannot imagine the pain he is going through right now,” said producer Chris Edwards in a statement to 3DownNation. “Milt is our brother and we are going to give him our love and support him in any way we can, and in whatever way he needs.”

During a broadcast teeing up the 2025 season on Tuesday, TSN dedicated its coverage this year to Chase’s memory.

TSN plans to flesh out the panel by rotating in active players, though it doesn’t appear as though this will happen every week. Players will generally make panel appearances during bye weeks, though there may also be opportunities for in-studio appearances when players are in town to play the Argonauts or Tiger-Cats.

Friday Night Football, a longtime network staple, will have a brand new presentation featuring fresh animations, graphics, and music. One source called the scope of the production “bigger.”

The play-by-play personnel at the network has remained unchanged for 2025, featuring Rod Smith, Dustin Nielson, Marshall Ferguson, and occasionally Farhan Lalji. Colour commentary will be performed by Glen Suitor, Duane Forde, and LaPolice."

Honestly the main selling point of the CFL are the timing rules of the final 3 minutes.  And arguably the most boring part of any NFL game when a team with a one score lead can just bleed the clock un

Really? That’s insane.

CFL website says the same. I guess they will update as changes are filed with the league.

Like Milt Stegall is the best receiver ever in the league and will always be a fan favourite.... but if they tried to put him in the field we'd all lose our ****.

Every player no matter how great has a best before date. Bighill is well past his.

In a related story the Flames have just signed Morris Lukowich.

We might just be that desperate for defensive help.

Nah. We aren’t even desperate enough to dress the ends we do have.

I bet he goes back to mtl if he is reinstated.

Early last season the Als were fighting to have him re-instated, so they might want him back.

Yeah I’m pretty sure they would and that they are still pushing to get him back.

I hope the league is better than that. Big early test for the new commish.

The commish has to play by the rules.

Watching the Als versus Lions, I think I’m watching BP age in real time. Head coaching is a tough gig.

Pretty disheartening watching BC and Montreal's receivers fighting for every millimetre after the catch when most of our guys are putting themselves down on the turf and getting no YAC at all.

No player in the history of pro sports has been found to be betting in his own games, punished, and allowed to return.
Pete rose just got reinstated for eligibility to get in the hof since he died. Jontay porter is facing 4-5 years in jail for better on his games and faking injuries to rig his line.
No commish or bog has allowed a guy back. They have every reason to instantly decline his application.

MTL could literally interchange MBT and Evans to keep BC’s D off balance with their different skill sets. I’m not letting go employing a 2qb system.

I’ll just continue to talk to myself on this one. :)

Hardly anyone is running a 1 QB system well.

What do they get, 3 days of 4 hours team period plus game day?

Wow...clock malfunction in Montreal.

No way that play took less than 3 seconds.

How is the command center not fixing this?

Clock didn't even start until Rourke threw the ball.

What the hell is the point of having something like the Command Centre if you can't fix something that obvious?

What a wild finish. Less than 3 seconds for a play is ballsy and incredible execution

Yea, 2nd down play was  an incomplete pass so clock doesn't start until snap.  I went back and looked again.

Montreal got absolutely ****** by a ridiculous 15 yard penalty on their FG and clock mistake.

TSN runs their own clock that won't match the stadium clock exactly.

Could of Mass challenged that somehow?

Yeah but it didn't start at the snap.  It started when Rourke was in his drop from the replay TSN showed synced up to stadium clock.

There's no way a QB could take his drop, throw that pass, have the guy run 5 yards upfield and dive down in less than 3.8 seconds.

Technically diving head first he needs Montreal to touch him down too to end the play so he's not down right when he hits the turf.

Complete garbage officiating and timekeeping to not fix that.

These are the games the CFL needs more, controversies, fights, close game etc. Except us, I’ll accept blowouts for us all the time.

Probably not.  But Command Centre should have been able to fix it.  Like run a stopwatch from the snap to the end of the play.  There's 3.8 seconds on the stadium clock before the snap.

game turned into a hockey game after it ended
