Tucker Carlson??  Tucker ******* Carlson?!!!! That guy might be the biggest asshat that has ever lived.  Nothing he spouts can be considered ‘information’.

Why was this guy on waivers?

Artificial Intelligence Overview when asking your question:

Clay Stevenson was placed on waivers by the Washington Capitals because he lost the backup training camp battle to veteran Charlie Lindgren, and the team preferred to stick with Logan Thompson and Lindgren while needing to set their opening night roster without carrying three goaltenders.

Same reason as last year?

And he couldn't be sent to the A? Just curious is all .. if his numbers are as good as McIntyre suggests, I can't see why he's not at least a backup or starting in the A ...

wait he's going to play against Boston? luckily it's just game one they'll have time to improve

Thats why he was on waivers. He was sent down to the AHL, but needed to clear waivers before he could be assigned.

Here's hoping he seizes this opportunity to help the team and the Helle situation.

Exerpt taken from another hockey expert Billy Heyen:

'But at some point, as hard as it is to digest, I think you (Winnipeg) have to cut your losses'.

What? I keep hearing from some, of course most from outside of Winnipeg, that the organization is in awkward position the longer this takes, no sweet talking will entice him back and how it may be affecting the lockerroom. Winnipeg gets no respect from hockey writers whether subtley or not no subtle.

Nope, not at all, the organization is in the drivers seat, no sweet talking needed. This is a business, he chose that he no longer wants to be employed at this organization three years in of an eight year contract and has been very specific with what he is wanting so we will accommodate as we see fit.

We have a five year window.

This is true, and I want Chevy to wait for the best possible deal, but he also has to consider the possibility of potential diminishing returns. The longer Helle sits, the more rusty he likely gets. GM’s might be a bit leery of acquiring a goalie that’s been on the shelf for months.

I still think we’re in the drivers seat, but it’s something to consider.

Really fair point. I guess it's all about mindset like most things in life.

Focus on the club and players who want to be here keeping the door open for Helle to return but until the right deal comes across the desk that's it and if this results in my asset diminishing because of the specific demands placed on me by this assett so be it. I'm willing to take that hit while focussing my energies on my current pool of players, depth and potential upgrades throughout the season.

I would expect this to sort itself out by Christmas.

He's a diminishing asset becuase
the Jets are winning without him, so the question becomes- How much was winning in the past because of him, and losing last year was because of him
He's proven nothing in the playoffs- anyone in the market looking to make a push in the playoffs, this is consideration #1
He's coming off as not a team player out for himself . At least Larkin is playing. Not a desirable quality
Rust is going to become an issue
He totally overestimated the goalie market and the trend for cheaper, younger goalies

I don't see a scenario where he comes back to this locker room. He basically told everyone in that room he thinks they're not good enough, and what... you're gonna sit Skinner who's doing a good job (and seems like a great locker guy), send Mud down for this guy and what is personally best for him?

That has to be grinding his gears.
