NFL thread

Surprised there isn't a thread dedicated to NFL discussion...I will start it off:

how about that Myles Garrett helmet swinging from last night??  It's all over social media if you haven't seen it.  Can't see him playing again this season.

Rodgers, 37, had an alternate treatment prior to the start of training camp, sources told ESPN, and he then petitioned the NFL for that treatment to allow him to be considered the same as someone who received one of the approved vaccinations. After a lengthy back-and-forth, the league ruled that Rodgers would not get the same consideration and would be considered unvaccinated.

So has Antonio Brown shifted from “selfish player” and “clown show” to “mentally troubled person we should be concerned for”?

I suspect he has some form of mental illness.

I think he shifted a few years back.

So this dude has a long history of stupidity and this is the one that ppl say he needs help for. Lol.

Do you really put this incident on par with his past stuff? Stupidity is returning a punt touchdown backwards for the last twenty yards because you want to be a hot dog. Refusing to enter a game and tearing off your jersey then gesturing to an entire stadium borders on the irrational. And the irrational stuff has increased since that hit in 2018. But you think it’s just him being stupid and not something anyone should be concerned about?

I remember that hit on Brown by Burfict. No question Brown has CTE.

Okay Mr. Dyce makes sense but what do you do with AB if he doesn’t recognize it? I don’t like the joking about it either but it’s a bit more complicated then preaching empathy and tolerance.

You don't sign him to an NFL contract and the NFL makes a stipulation that he has to get help before he ever steps foot on a field again?

The biggest problem is that those with the most severe mental health and/or MAS problems are the most unaware of how troubled they are and are  the most resistant to intervention.

If in “extreme pain”, then why exit in this fashion?

Unfortunately for Brown, his history of petulant behaviour and lying in the past (fake vaccine card) works against his credibility here.

Try telling an alcoholic or drug addict they can't do something until they get help when they don't want to. You'll be waiting a long time.

In dealing with a severely addicted person, you get more with a kind word and a gun than you get with a kind word.

In the past I've mentioned I have experience with addictions in my immediate family. A drunk or addict will say ANYTHING to fool a person to get exactly what they want. It's sad but true. Addiction is a form of mental illness. AB doesn't want help then all the hope in the world won't be enough. At the same time, we aren't medical professionals. We can't make a diagnosis based on a 10 minute video & a couple of interviews thrown in.
