2018 NHL Playoffs

We are now a week away from the 2018 NHL playoffs starting.    Figured the playoffs could use their own thread.

For those hoping to get tickets to see the Jets, looks like the secondary market will be out in full force.    http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/winnipeg-jets-playoff-tickets-1.4604783

Winnipeg Jets playoff tickets have not been released to the public, but reseller sites are already posting seats for sale with hefty prices suggesting they are among the hottest tickets in the NHL.

Ticket giant StubHub is posting dozens of playoff home game tickets for upwards of $300 US, which is among the highest entry-level prices. In markets like Toronto, Minnesota and Colorado, tickets start at $100 US.

The best Jets playoff seats on offer, a lower bowl pair at centre ice, are posted for $844 US each. Similar seats in Minnesota and Boston are going for roughly $200 to $500 US, respectively.

I bought tickets to game 2 of the Canucks/Bruins Stanley Cup final.  Paid $500 a pop.  Money well spent.

Colorado playing a nice game...

They seem to get caught flat-footed now and then in their own end, though. That last goal by the Predators was just crummy.

I'm not sure how I feel... Anaheim is losing.... however Kane has scored two goals....

Sportsnet keeps doing that heck I think I heard one of them mispronounce another players name (I can't remember which one though)

I love how SportsNet is basically taking all the pressure OFF the Jets while accidentally playing the role of 'heel'.

Maurice probably makes Sportsnet pre-game speeches instead of even mentioning the Wild ha...

Looks like those leafs aren't getting raked quite yet

"...back in the series..."

Boston looks so much better than Toronto. Can't wait until TO is dumped out of the playoffs (and then Boston in round 2).

The Leafs can go straight to hell.

Along with the Ducks. Piss on that garbage dump of a team.

Here is a great homerism call!

To tell you the truth, I hate most NHL teams. Very few that I would actually cheer for and only because they have particularly special players that I'm fond of.

So, piss on every team not the Jets.

7.5seconds left. Vegas ices.  Face off in Vegas zone. 7.5 seconds away from advancing. Wow.

Edit: Vegas advances. Sweep!

When the Winnipeg Jets play in Game 5 of the NHL playoffs on Friday, the Winnipeg Whiteout Street Party outside Bell MTS Place will be even bigger than before.

Economic Development Winnipeg says the party will now include Graham Avenue, as opposed to only Donald Street.

Any guess how big this grows if the Jets continue to do well?

I suggested in another forum that their future plan (when TNS is open) might include closing Graham and Carlton to allow over flow to utilize Hydro Park or whatever its called.  At this rate, if the Jets did make it to the final they might have to use the Forks.  I had heard the Forks didnt really want to host but would be willing to if asked.

But what will become of the bus traffic?

More parking lots!!!

The buses would be re-routed to another street (likely St. Mary Avenue)  for a few blocks before getting back to usual route. That's what they did when there was construction closing a few blocks of Graham.
