You know... I am good with it if the cons vote him on to the SCOTUS. It will be good for the midterms for dems. Mobilize the vote.

Then later when more of this shot comes to light... there will be an do investigation because... come on, 4 accusers now? Also, he has lied already publicly and on the record. So he will be impeached and removed. It's a lot of unnecessary steps, but it will even out in the end.

I was thinking the same thing.  Clearly the right thing to do is move on to someone else.

But if they confirm him, it’s the narrative and battle cry of the Dems in these midterms.

The opposit might be true for the GOP if they don’t confirm him. They might be wise to sacrifice Kavanaugh to save the senate.

One of the most interesting things that was quickly skipped over was when the female attorney hired by the GOP to grill Ford touched on a note in Kavanaugh's calendar dated July 1st. That date and the notation appeared to line up with the events reported by Ford and named Judge as present. As soon as Mitchell pointed out that date and was apparently going to ask Kavanaugh about it, the Republican members of the committee called a halt and fired Mitchell. Hm.....

Yup. He went drinking with several guys that Dr. Ford said were there. Yet, no questions.

This process is so morally bankrupt just like the administration.

Yup that shouldn’t be overlooked.  No way of knowing of July 1 was the date this Happened without an actual investigation but it lined up with everything said so far.

Kavanaugh’s performance regardless of the allegations should disqualify him.  Period.

Listening to these senators this morning, they continue to lie and twist the evidence.  They are deathly afraid of s real investigation.

Clearly some of them have serious issues with women and believe that “boys will be boys” is perfectly reasonable.

Her problem is she was attacked. And when she reported that attack she was attacked again.  And destroying Kavanaugh’s life actually means he continues working on the second highest court in the US making a lot of money.

There are a lot of pieces at play here. Trump has fully invested himself in Kavanaugh's appointment and, given Trump's abysmal history of having his appointees spectacularly imploding, his ego cannot take yet another disaster wherein his judgement is proven faulty. Moreover, the GOP is still trying to do damage control over the Russia investigation and failing at that as well. Mueller is edging ever closer to proving that Trump has been laundering money for the Russian mob for nearly 20 years. Plus, if Kavanaugh fails at the appointment with three for certain and possibly a fourth woman alleging sexual misconduct on his part, he tenure are a judge will come under examination and trigger a full FBI investigation, so who knows what that will dredge up?

Yesterday afternoon:

Kavanaugh:

Quote

"The American Bar Association has given me their highest rating."

Graham:

Cited a letter from the American Bar Association. The organization had given Kavanaugh its highest rating going into his confirmation process, and Graham held this up as proof of his great character

Quote

"Here’s my understanding, if you lived a good life people would recognize it. Like the American Bar Association has, the gold standard."

Last nite:

The American Bar Association late Thursday urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to delay the vote to confirm Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh pending a full FBI investigation, according to multiple reports.

In a letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein, the organization requested the committee hold off on voting until allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and others can be fully vetted by the FBI.

“We make this request because of the ABA’s respect for the rule of law and due process under law,” the letter read. “The basic principles that underscore the Senate’s constitutional duty of advice and consent on federal judicial nominees require nothing less than a careful examination of the accusations and facts by the FBI.”

Rule of law? Ethical standards? Due process?  This is the Trump spittle licking Senate, we are talking about. Anybody think they are interested in any of that stuff?

It's pretty criminal what these republicans are doing. Morally bankrupt cowards the lot of them are.
