I can't help thinking that Hammy will make it closer than people are betting. Calgary didn't run away with many games this season and their wins over Hamilton (who were without Collaros) were tight games. I don't think Hamilton is going to win, but I certainly don't see it being a blow-out. Hammy's probably my least favourite team over the past 10 or so years, so definitely rooting for a Calgary win. Looking forward to Huffer moving out of the HC chair.

I just heard Walters and O'Shea do an interview with H&L on Friday where Mike was asked if he has finished doing his evaluations of his staff. He said no, and bought himself some time by saying that this is his first time going through the process and that he has to develop a way to evaluate the staff and different components of the team and that is the part that is taking so long. I'm not sure where each of our three-headed monster stands on the state of our coordinators, but hearing O'Shea speak on it made it seem that nothing is set in stone. I personally think we might be waiting to see who is available before deciding to part ways simply to make a change.

Agreed. This whole season has been brutal. I've been thinking this too. Front to back, across the entire league, I can't recall a more boring season.

I love Randle and Leggett but after one season, it's difficult to say how long they'll stick around. Anderson is a safe bet now that's he's re-signed, and he's already put up a couple successful seasons. Denmark would be decent. I wouldn't risk a Willy or Cotton just yet. I'd definitely go with Willy after next season if he stays productive.

Can't find the stats from that game but pretty sure he had more than 1 catch. They were double and triple covering him from what I could see and I remember him making a big catch to extend a drive. That must've been the one. I think Glenn and the Lions should be able to get be the Als. That defence certainly has the ability to turn Kevin into his lesser self though. I hope that Edmonton can find a way to get past the Riders. If they can just stay alive long enough for Reilly to get healthy, they definitely have a shot for the Cup.

Keeping in mind that Demski would not necessarily (and probably wouldn't be) a starter. I would be rotating him in over the course of the year to see where he fits. Talent and developmentally aside, it's usually a terrible plan to start someone coming from the CIS from Day 1 - as their body is not used to a schedule more than twice as long as the CIS calendar.

I've always been iffy about drafting Demski - I can't stand homerism when applied to the draft - but I'm starting to come around. I honestly think that if we fixed our Imports along the line, that our NI talent would suffice, especially with Goosen already in the mix. Take the best available player at number #2 - taking into account NFL interest.

They were set up as well as they could be, it simply takes time for that many new players/coaches coming together in a new system. I don't think being able to take more or "better" players from other teams would have helped much. EDIT: yeah, what Mike said.

For precedents' sake, I would think the Als should be forced to activate him. Our season isn't over, we're on our bye week. The timing of it shouldn't change that fact.

Cornish just missed too many games. Foley might seem like a toad, but it's been a pretty good year for him. Hajrullahu wasn't a unanimous choice for the Canadian award. I wonder who else got considered. Kohlert? I'm wavering back and forth, but I think I disagree with this. Considering the time that he was in, what Cornish was able to do was pretty outstanding. Foley had a good year, but I wouldn't consider it award-winning. I also have a hard time accepting Bowman as MOP. He, Elimimiam, Cornish, Chick and Willy all had great seasons, but Elimimian is the only one whose play didn't tail off midseason. He's my front-runner.

Exactly. Doesn't necessarily mean we start 3 NI receivers at all times either. Could be a set we see to allow Anderson and Turner on the field at the same time or something along those lines. They have to be able to create different packages to get certain guys on and off the field.

I really don't think positional coaches have much bearing, so bring back anyone that the coaches like - change them out if there were issues or if our coordinators change and have other people that they feel more comfortable with. Keep O'Shea, obviously. Not enough time to judge a rookie coach and there was some moderate improvement over past year. MB - I posted on the other site that I like the idea of keeping Willy in the same system. It would be hard on a young QB to change to his third system in three years. However, I have concerns about how many sacks that MB-led QBs have taken. I want MB back if he can make a plausible plan for protecting our QB, regardless of OL personnel. Etch - I think he is missing players and that he was handicapped by ratio. I think if he hadn't been forced to sit Sears, if he was able to start Anderson (and if Anderson didn't get hurt), if we had a pass rushing DE or two, his scheme is not an issue. I think our D kept us in more games than many of us will admit.

I've always secretly rooted for Edmonton. Was a big fan of Ricky Ray and cheered for Edmonton over Montreal in all of the Greys Cups they got matched up in during the 2000s. Now Reilly has won me over as well.

Interesting...sure. Just as interesting as any opinions on this forum though. A lot of opinion...some fact based...some not so much. Nice to get a good idea of who is coming up for FA though so thanks to the blogger for that. Anyone know whose blog that is? Writing and opinion seem familiar. Thought so too. Don't agree with a whole lot of what was said, but it was a good read.

If it truly was the most outstanding player who won these awards, and not the QB or most successful offensive player, LH would easily be the winner. Followed by Randle at DB. Seeing as how this is really the best offensive weapon, I think Denmark deserves the nod.

We hope Willy can push himself ahead of guys like Glenn, Collaros, and the two other guys, but he hasn't this season. You can blame our OL, our injured receiving core, or the beatings he has taken, but Willy hasn't proven he can score in the red zone or elevate those around him. Right now, I have him ahead of the Ottawa-version of Burris, and Crompton, but he hasn't shown more than anyone else yet.

Last month I pulled in the Bomber lot in the morning to go to the store and thought I could get used to doing this every day. Ugh. Retail. Based on all the ranting that is done on the various discussion boards about the Bomber organization, I would hate actually being a part of the team that has to deal with the general public in any way.

There is an expansion team, which has made the talent pool a little thinner (which significantly affects OL and NIs). There are three new starting QBs. Multiple QBs and RBs have been injured throughout the year.

I definitely don't think it's an OC's job to take a FB, line him up at receiver, and then create a scheme for him to be open (other than perhaps once every other few games where he takes off out of no where for a first down, which is exactly what they've been doing).
