  1. From reading your posts over the past few pages, I can see that you are dead set in your opinion and you wont change it. But here is why I personally disagree with you. A. No, I am not rich. But both me and my wife (one kid on the way) make more than 50k a year and we're hardly rolling in the cash. And our cost of living is a fraction of what his expenses would be. B. To play a professional sport is a full year job, you're simply only paid for half that year. It's certainly not as simply as "get a real job". C. His kids and family are relevant because he is a person. And if he can't afford to live on 50k, then he needs to make a change. D. Football players risk more than tearing an acl or breaking bones. Surely you know that they are not just "playing a game" for a living. The risk of CTE, or early onset arthritis in your joints making in painful to move or cause you to become dependent on pain killers. No, I would absolutely not put on pads for 50k a year. Anyways, just my opinion. I think he should be able to make the decision to sit out if he feels it is best for him.
  2. I don’t know about you, but I sure as hell wouldn’t play football - knowing all we do today - for 50k. last year, he felt he didn’t have any choice and had no other option to sign that contract. If he had more options now, power to him.
  3. We definitely need an alternate for Wild for when/if he gets injured. Assuming that Leggett is re-signed and JSK is filling one of our LB slots, Wild needs to be rotational or have a strong candidate behind him.
  4. Hopefully so.
  5. Because we were in high school and our world was just beginning.
  6. I am not inherently against U.S. expansion. I don't like the idea of it, and it obviously went horribly last time (it is a stain on our history), but there it is not evil for the sake of being evil. There are a very real set of things that would make this incredibly difficult to pull off. If there was a US team in a football market, that had a 110 yard field, used Canadians (or we were somehow able to find a reasonable solution), played on days that would not conflict with local High School/NCAA/NFL games, had committed ownership, etc, etc, etc. I can't see the stars aligning on so many different elements. There would have to be a very rich, very committed US based person who for some reason loves Canadian ball.
  7. So the Grey Cup wouldn’t be the championship game? That’s a non- starter for me. Besides, you haven’t addressed the ratio concern at all. Just ignored it.
  8. It's hilarious that we hold professional athletes to such high standards on the field/court/rink/ etc, but when it comes to their humanity, any common gesture is viewed as over and above.
  9. Yup. After that effort yesterday (with Hutton slamming the door shut on us), we need to come through tonight.
  10. This is exactly it though, NFL teams spend [ungodly amount of ] money on scouting and recruiting players. None of those individuals have anything to do with the team twitter feed. Again, no angst against Randle - I think he’s our best defensive player - just curiosity about the thought process. It doesn’t make sense to me.
  11. Going off topic here, but the twitter account is going to be run by someone hired to be witty and social media savvy. I’m sure the overwhelming majority of these people are on the young side and 0% have any contact with football operations.
  12. You seem to be arguing against yourself. If he knows so many people and he has so many contacts, why is he not using them and instead relying on social media? And if he knows so much about the inner workings, why is he not going that route? I do not begrudge the man an opportunity, I just don’t understand why he’s going about it in this way.
  13. I think we’re mostly just curious because it seems so futile. Does he not have an agent? Did his agent tell him that he wasn’t generating any interest so he took matters into his own hands? Does he think that in a multi-million dollar organization like an NFL team, the twitter kid has any contact with the player personnel people?
  14. He got into coaching after his playing career, didn't he?
  15. NFL doesn’t want a Canadian team. And I don’t think they’re interested/able to drop a billion dollars on an NFL stadium, which is what they’re running these days.
  16. They realized it’s impossible?
  17. It's not a bad idea. Just pointless.
  18. Same thing to every team: Chris Randle‏Verified account @ChrisRandle_Ad 7h7 hours ago More Replying to @Giants Chris Randle-Canadian League All Star.6yr Pro, 90games,16Ints, 4TDs , 300+ Tkls.Very consistent player with GRIT.All he is asking for is an opportunity to showcase what he can do.Thank you.#AchieveDreams https://youtu.be/Al2K2ltOglY
  19. Ha. I hope the intern who updates the twitter feeds is very impressed.
  20. This is just based on what I remember being reported, but I was under the impression that he was cut with the intention of being added to the Packers' PR, but he chose to sign with the Jets (presumably he thought it was a better opportunity).
  21. He has been continuing his education through the engineering department. He actually was in Winnipeg during the Jets bye week to catch up with things that his group was working on during his absence. The University is allowing him to carry on and work around his football career.
  22. He’s not getting cut from these teams though. He chose the Jets PR over the Packers’ and now he’s been upgraded to the Browns’ roster. I can’t see any way he doesn’t use up his PR eligibility at the very least.
  23. Which means more opportunities for him to move up the depth chart. It makes no difference to me if he wins the Super Bowl, my only concern is if he ever comes to the Bombers. This is now less likely than yesterday.
  24. This is a promotion. He’s actually trending the other way.
