  1. Langford in to hopefully replace Washington...replacing Givens would be another head scratcher.. .
  2. When I spoke to Bob a couple of years ago he did say he wanted to work a little less...but Not retiring yet. I hope he calls games till the duration of this new contract. As to CJOB's coverage...they could use a longer post game call in show. I like Doug Brown, but really miss a voice like Mitch Zalnasky (sp?). And also, they do need to make sure they have both guys (Bob & Doug) calling the away games - none of this "we'll pick up a local guy to help Bob with the away games" All in all, good news. I've been listening to Bob since he started (was that '72?).
  3. You are quite right, he hasn't won a championship, he has won championships! 3 in fact! 2 as a coach and 1 as a player.
  4. I hope the Riders win out in the East and then we can beat them in the Grey Cup. That would be the sweetest!
  5. I would expect that if we win at home next Sunday all the coaches are offered their jobs back...but if we lose that game Walters makes the strong recommendation to O Shea that we find another D Coordinator. Just my opinion
  6. Reilly is looking real good right now. In the cold the guy will run a lot...so please send the Smoes east.
  7. Good job although I think you were too kind to LeFevour...but heh, we won so all is good
  8. Eskies have QB depth. The lions? Lulays can't stay healthy. We don' t really know if Calgary has depth. The Riders have 2 Mediocre guys. Bottom line is this...back ups are back ups for a reason.
  9. So how long before LeFevour: bounces a pass off the turf in front of a receiver and throws his 1st pick I say the 1st quarter for both!!
  10. And it's not like I expect us to win if Dom Davis starts, it' just that LeFevour may just set a new CFL record for interceptions in one game. Actually, I take that back. LeFevour won't set an interception record since he bounces too many balls off the turf.
  11. If O Shea actually starts the Fevour over Dom I will be dumbfounded. If O Shea has been one thing he has been consistently stubbornly loyal to his guys. Example 1- last year he continued to play Willy even though every fan and player knew it wasnt working. He played Willy until his job was on the line. Example 2 - he has played Sam Hurl when everyone knows the guy is basically a non-moving object. Loyalty to a FAULT. This year he has always stated that Dom was his 2nd string...and now against all reason it looks like he will start LeFevour. The only stupid reason I can see behind this madness is that O Shea wants to lose as badly as he can to Calgary so we can lull our playoff opposition to sleep!!
  12. Yeah more important to rest our players than to put in nicked up players in an attempt to win. It might even slightly work to our advantage if we come into the playoffs as underdogs having lost a few in a row. Maybe Edmonton or Saskatchewan will take us lightly (heh, I'm trying trying to grasp at straws here).
  13. Wow! That comment triggered me . With apologies to the Milt Stegal era - this group - Poplawski, House, Goodlow, and Holmes were the greatest group of receivers we ever had on the field at one time. Two outstanding Canadians in House and Poplawski and two amazing Americans. Goodlow only played here 2 years but I think his talent level equalled that of Stegall.
  14. I've seen lots of routs both in our favour and against us. We played bad on offense and gave up a lot of yards on defense...but this game was no rout. Just my 2 cents
  15. And please have some plays where Davis can actually roll out.
  16. I've said it before, I'll say it again...one of the major problems with Dom D yesterday was the play calling. Let the guy use his legs. Roll him out. Matt N has to be a pocket passer cause he can't run. Davis can so let him outside. Lefovour is just terrible...cut him ASAP.
  17. 2 things: - Not sure either why they pulled Dom D. Lefovour has looked bad in his limited throws this year and looked dreadful today. - Not sure why they often kept Dom D in the pocket. His strength is his legs. We had a little success when they rolled him out or had him run, but then they went back to pocket passer. Bad play calling.
  18. My first choice to be defensive coordinator next year with us is Mark Nelson...unfortunately he is with Ottawa.
  19. I too would like to have a guy like Thorpe as our D coordinator next year. But unless Walters twists O'Shea's arm in the off-season, it isn't going to happen. O'Shea stated on last coaches show that he (O'Shea) hires the assistants and he wants Hall back
  20. Maybe he will "just" be G.M. next year, again. But even if that happened, we all know Wally would be coaching from upstairs.
  21. By futures contract they just mean he has signed a contract for 2018. Most contracts are signed in the off-season, this one was just signed a little early. I'm looking forward to what Straughan can show next training camp.
  22. Heh guys, last year we made the playoffs. This year we get a home playoff game. That is progress, despite the disappointing loss today.
  23. Unless B.C. defense implodes it looks like a home playoff game for us!
