  1. You are the one ignoring evidence, not me.
  2. Because I have a more objective mind than the rest of you. It's not an opinion, it's pretty damn clear. The command centre was too pansy to overturn the call.
  3. Just keeping things as objective as possible on this forum.
  4. It was a hell of an effort by Harris as he kept his legs churning but the elbow definitely hit the ground ahead of the goal line. Hollins didn't even graze Lankford on the play. Just watched the replay a couple times. That really was an awful call.
  5. I wouldn't say that's the only bad call they had go against them. I'd say the PI call on Hollins which led to a touchdown was completely undeserved. The Bombers were so quick to scrimmage after that, Chapdelaine didn't even get the chance to consider a challenge. It's also pretty clear to me Harris went down before reaching the goal line on the last play. His right elbow hit the ground ahead of the goal line while the ball had clearly not broken the plane.
  6. Is Harris not down once his right elbow touches the ground? Seems to me he might have been an inch or two short of a touchdown. Probably not conclusive enough to overturn the call on the field. Genereally speaking however, the refs have been absolutely awful this year and it appears the Bombers have been beneficiaries more often than not. I don't want to complain, but I can't say the wins this year have felt as good as they should have, simply due to the poor officiating.
  7. Agreed. The coaching is what cost us this game.
  8. You could say that the Bombers are the Mike Beliefs of the CFL.
  9. To be fair, Willy has been guilty of this in the past as well. Guys with little mobility run into those problems just as often.
  10. Brandon Lee Gowton ‏@BrandonGowton 2 hil y a 2 heuresVoir la traduction CFL scout for the Blue Bombers here at Eagles practice. Getting a look at Tim Tebow maybe?
  11. A lot of people in Edmonton have the same opinion of Nichols and Franklin as we do of Brohm and Marve.
  12. Speaking of former CFLers.. It appears that Shawn Lemon was cut by the Steelers today. http://dkonpittsburghsports.com/2015/07/29/steelers-waive-shawn-lemon/
  13. Maybe the rational posters to a degree yes.. But there is ample reasons listed as to why this is.. I'll reinerate again tho.. -marve hurt -brohm is more experienced -brohm is more of a pocket passer These are the 3 that stand out to me as why brohm is ahead of marve at this point.. - when Marve was not hurt....Marve was outperforming Brohm. Once again, I'm going to ask the question, when? When has Marve outperformed Brohm? In practice? In preseason? It's comments like this that make me want to lose it on people. Practice and preseason mean almost nothing. Again, I'm not saying Brohm doesn't suck, or that I don't want Marve to play. I want Marve to play, and I hope he succeeds. But we haven't seen anything from him to say he is better then Brohm yet. The rest of your comments I agree with. Last season? BROHM, B 2014 WPG 39 70 55.7 454 54 0 0 1 1.43 69.6 MARVE, R 2014 WPG 11 22 50 140 42 1 4.6 0 85.4 So you're telling me that you can tell by these stats, that Marve outperformed Brohm last season? Really? Looks pretty similar to me, other then Marve running a lot more then Brohm. With this little amount of playing time behind Marve, we can't really judge if he's better then Brohm. Again, I hope he is if he ever gets to play because I'm tired of watching Brohm. But you have no proof yet. Every time I hear people say "WE NEED TO START MARVE, HE'S BETTER THEN BROHM", all I keep hear is the past few years bouncing back..."we need to play Brink, he's better then Buck", "we need to play Elliott, he's better then Brink", "we need to play Goltz, he's better then Buck/Elliott", etc... And when they got to play what did we hear from the same people who were screaming and yelling to have them play? "Get rid of Brink/Elliott/Goltz...he sucks!". Brohm is a one-dimensional quarterback who is weak, inaccurate and immobile. You can look at those stats all you want but they don't tell the whole story. Marve played in very unusual situations last year, which makes it tough to draw conclusions from those numbers. As I've mentioned, Marve was able to move the ball just as effectively, if not more effectively than his peers in both of his regular season appearances, which is ultimately what matters. Marve has also looked much better than Brohm in preseason as well as in practice. Ultimately, Marve has had too few reps to know exactly what he's all about but it is very very very likely that he's a better option than Brohm at this point, who simply does not belong on a professional football field.
  14. I can't think of another reason why Brohm is given such a long leash. But the cronyism? explain what you mean by that... and how it exactly relates to brohm and the bombers? Cuz i don't see it. Cuz it's a catchy buzzword that someone else made up. It has no relevance to this situation of course but hey, it sounds cool! I get the impression that Brohm gets along with Bellefeuille and co., and that they don't want to throw him under the bus. There is no other explanation for him being given such a long leash.
  15. Hard to disagree. Brohm has not looked good but I also don't believe marve is ready (or healthy enough) to take brohms spot. I truly believe marve needs to prove he can run MB's offense (as crummy as it can be) without needing to run away at first pressure every time, And when do you assume Marve will get that chance exactly? How can he prove anything if he doesn't get playing time? Regarding Bryan Randall... The guy threw 20 career passes and did not start a single game. How do you figure we rushed him?
  16. I was willing to give Brohm a chance at first. But he has stunk up the joint too many times now, not only in regular season action but also in the preseason and in practice. There is no justification for keeping him on the roster. If Marve shows that much incompetence in all of his reps (which he hasn't to this point) then he most assuredly will be run out of town and for good reason. But that is unlikely to happen.
  17. Giving Robert Marve his first career start wouldn't be throwing him to the wolves. Allowing him to step up in relief of an injured Willy for once, wouldn't be throwing him to the wolves. The best way for him to learn would be to throw him in real game situations. Besides, it's a near certainty that he'd give us a better chance to win than Brohm, which should be the Bombers' priority.
  18. I can't think of another reason why Brohm is given such a long leash.
  19. I hope so too. That way we'll have a decent look at what Marve is capable of in ordinary situations. Really, you can't just ignore the fact that Marve played in unusual situations last year. Stats always need context. And again I reiterate... Marve was just as effective, if not more effective than his peers, at moving the ball in both of his appearances. Is the objective in football not to move the ball and score points? Marve was quite good in relief last year, no matter which way you look at it.
  20. Brohm was doing the same. I doubt that there was a significant difference in the level of competition between the two.
  21. Don't bother. I've shown him the stats many times. He keeps acting like they mean nothing. They mean very little, considering the unusual situations that he played in. And despite those stats, Marve has been just as effective, if not more effective than his peers at moving the chains in those games.
  22. First game: It's pointless to draw conclusions from 10 pass attempts because he likely would have completed a higher percentage had he played the entire game. Three of his 10 throws came in his last-minute drive, when they were down by 10 and in a hurry to throw the ball downfield. If you were to include his rushing yards, Marve was just as effective at moving the ball as Brohm (who couldn't put points on the board, largely because he lost a fumble the only time he approached the end zone). Second game: The weather conditions were about as bad as anyone could have imagined, especially during the second half when Marve got all of his reps. The fact that he didn't commit a single turnover in that snowstorm is an impressive feat on its own. Marve was also just as effective at moving the ball as Mitchell, and infinitely more effective than Willy in that same game. Ultimately, Marve has had too few reps (all in very unusual situations) for us to really know what he's all about. But the fact is that his tools are MUCH more impressive than Brohm's, and therefore he should be given a chance, given what Brohm has done to this point.
  23. Look the last 2 games were hard situations for any quarterback to come into. The team lost it's starter and it got them down mentally. There are enough excuses to be found that it is understandable that you don't make a change at qb, especially if you believe that Brohm understands the system better, and why shouldn't he? He's an older more experienced qb, I hope he understands things. That's probably a big comfort to the coaches. But don't fret about it too much, guys don't get unlimited chances to not produce. If he gets a week of prep as the starter and still goes out and poops his pants things will start to change. The job of a quarberback is to be able to step up in relief of the starter, even midway through a game if needed. If Brohm can't do that, what's the use in keeping him around? Especially when Marve has done admirable job in relief. There is not one aspect of Brohm's game that is attractive and he does not belong on a professional football field. When? Twice last year.

  25. If Marve has a bad attitude and somehow is a detriment to the team, why not cut him? Even a guy like Jason Vega feels bad for Marve, and he spent an entire year with the guy. He certainly doesn't seem to be bothered by Marve's attitude, if I'm understanding his tweets correctly.
