Game 36 : More Snow @ More Rain
Goalie replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
I'll just say this and then won't comment until after 1130 lol Jets have a pretty healthy lineup. I think the time for excuses are over. I hope they win... I don't want to see Maurice fired... I want him to do well here... but if a healthy jets team comes out and lays a giant crap in Vancouver tonight... Maurice is probably gonna have to be dismissed -
It's more about the placement and accuracy than speed. Buff has a hard shot but... misses the net lots also

Game 36 : More Snow @ More Rain

Maurice today said Tanev Is nicked up. Copp is a healthy scratch -
I tend to agree with this. Not sure about the promise to trade him thing... think if Myers proved he could stay healthy trouba might be dealt but not sure he will be anymore. Chevy wanted long term. Trouba wanted out. The compromise was Trouba plays or sits at home

This veteran love affair with struggling players needs to stop otherwise Maurice WILL be fired sooner rather than later. National media talking. It's getting louder -
Game 36 : More Snow @ More Rain
Goalie replied to FrostyWinnipeg's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Tanev is nicked up. Copp has been very good. Stafford hasn't been. Yet another case of a coach refusing to bench a struggling veteran -
Morrissey is LH. In order to have Werenski or Provorov for that matter Jets would have had to miss the playoffs the year they made it and had the 7th or 8th overall pick instead of 17th.
-
You know why? Because they actually play a very good defensive system where the Jets just aren't good at all defensively. They have Keith Seabrook Chalmarson *spelling* 3 pretty good defensively strong d men. Our best d man? A rookie. Our 2nd best? Probably Trouba. Jets have this 1 guy who goes out on the ice and is allowed to basically do what he wants to do in buff... I'm actually amazed at how good Morrissey has been defensively considering that playing with Buff is like playing with 4 forwards on the ice. Chicago plays a very structured system. I'm not convinced the jets play any sort of system at all. Looks like man on man actually and that hasn't worked in a very long time Need a young innovative up and coming coach on this team.

Hardly. I'm just here to bring you back to the reality that is WINNIPEG. we aren't a free agent destination, we never will be, no high profile FA is going to sign here..OK, let's do this, WHO should Chevy have signed this off-season? That's part 1 and part 2, Cuz it's a 2 parter, Which young guy's spot should they have taken? Armia? Dano? Copp? Tanev? These guys have been good when healthy. Which superstar veteran free agent should Chevy have signed.
-
Matthias doesn't count?
-
Someone will overpay Alzner and I guarantee it won't be the Jets, i'd be surprised if he wanted to come here even.
-
Guess signing Matthias and Perreault don't count cuz they have actually been decent? Tanev is a damn good energy player on the 4th line, he's ideal there, he was a good signing. Guessing Hutch wasn't a free agent signing at one point either? This idea that Winnipeg can attract these high profile free agents, GET IT OUT OF YOUR HEAD... it won't happen. They are Draft and Develop and always will be until they consistently win even then high profile FA's won't want to come here... we just aren't at the top of the FA destination list, The quicker you get that, the quicker you let these things go. It's interesting tho, considering our younger players have been the players who have consistently brought it every game this year and our veterans are the ones who have struggled the most. Myers automatically fixes all our issues? LOL, c'mon man, he's not friggin crosby.

I should say not all of them are bad people or lie but a good percentage of them certainly do. They promise you the world but then never really deliver on those promises, i guess instead of saying they are liars or bad people, i should just say they will say what is needed to get elected and then kind of just back off on a few of the things that they said, kind of like Trump and his WALL stance, people actually thought they would build a berlin type wall across the mexico border, that was never gonna happen.

The Change is just that, a non career politician. That's really what it came down to in the end, it was the career politician vs the non career politician... The change the Americans wanted was, a large percentage of them, they didn't want, well, basically, they didn't want OBAMA the Women in charge, yeah i know, but it's the best way to put it at the moment. Hillary was Obama JR and i'm not sure exactly why people got tired of Obama but apparently they did and they didn't want his basically hand picked Hillary in charge. I don't live there, I don't know why people felt that way, I personally thought Obama did good, Apparently to a lot of the population who voted, he didn't do as good as maybe i thought. The Swamp, Lol, It's basically Washington DC, Lobbyists and Career politicians who don't really care about what the average American thinks or feels, The people who voted for Trump thought he'd remove these types of people from his cabinet but looks like it's been filled with those types of people, Nothing says relating to the average american like a cabinet worth many billions and billions of dollars. As a side note here, I see people talking about Hillary won the popular vote, YUP, but since when did the popular vote matter in the US.. A few losers have won the popular vote over the years but, like i said, in the end, they were the losers and the guy that didn't win the popular vote ended up being the man in charge for the next 4 or 8 years.

The National media are starting to talk about the Jets saying they have all these talented pieces yet the PP PK and lack of discipline is killing them, That goes to the coach, Once the National Media starts talking about these things, Well, they will either have to be fixed or a coaching change is coming. It really does come down to the patheticness of the PP and PK... goaltending? Helle has been pretty steady recently, What you are asking him to do it seems is to get a shutout every night, The Jets scored 1 goal last night, You aren't gonna win many games when you only score 1 goal, i don't care who you are. It's all about the PP, PK and lack of discipline, it's been pretty consistent since Maurice has been here, he has yet to discover how to fix it, keeps making up new excuses, doesn't really try anything new, Needs to have Buff on the PP shooting pucks in to shin pads or missing nets, Can go with Petan,Laine,Morrissey, can't try something new and different, has to do the same old same old, real question here is who runs that room? Is it Maurice or is it Buff, cuz if Maurice doesn't have the balls to sit Buff when he is struggling, then he needs to go. I saw Drew Stafford on the PK last night, Chris Thorburn has been used on the PK... This is on the coaching, no way those 2 guys should be on the PK... or the PP and Stafford has been at times, It's coaching, It's a coach who favours vets, Go talk to Carolina fans about Maurice, it's the same story. Nothing changes with the guy, he's a good talker but his actions suggest that what he does best is talk. He needs to fix the PP and PK, it needs to happen, they are both in the bottom 5 of the league, 1 powerplay goal a game, 2 some nights and these loses are wins. It's really that simple. This is the same coach that wanted to or talked about wanting to put Lowry with Little and Wheeler last year as the number 1 line, he wanted so desperately to do that, What do you expect really when a guy with a ceiling of a 3rd line center but really, a good 4th line center, an ideal 4th line center really, what do you expect when the coach wants to make him in to our number 1 center last year, It never happened but Maurice definitely talked about it. It's little things like that, i believe they are called RED FLAGS. This team last night looked so eerily similar to the team that gave up on Claude Noel a few seasons ago. Eerily similar, no real system in place it seems, certainly no defensive system in place or if there is, the players on the ice aren't really following it at all... looks like the Jets are trying to play man to man coverage, doesn't seem to be working does it.

This election was never NEVER as close as the media made it out to be. I don't like Trump... I don't like Hillary but if I'm American and voting that day... I vote Trump because I'm tired of the BS going on in Washington DC. I see a career politician a member of the swamp so to speak and I see a guy who regardless of his issues is not a part of the swamp. I vote for Trump because like lots of Americans I want change. This was about change. Trump = Change and I don't really like him but I get why ppl voted for him. I get why he won. Will that change be better than the last 8 years? It remains to be seen. Trump has issues... hillary had issues but right now Trump actually deserves a chance to see what he can do. All these people have skeletons in their closets... every politician lies... they all are all talk and no action. Will trump be the same? Maybe but just maybe he will actually MAGA.

And now... for a change of pace
-
It wasn't until the juniors and really the Finnish championship series that Laine pulled ahead of Puljujarvi. At this point last year Puljujarvi was the number 2 prospect behind Matthews
-
Ok. So players eliminated. What do you do then? 1 option left. Fire Maurice
-
Trading your captain and guy who busts his ass every game sends the wrong message. I hate to say it but moving Enstrom Buff Little would send more of a message. Excluding little who has played well, moving one of buff or enstrom would send the message that if you aren't busting your ass every game there are consequences. But really sit Stafford for a game or 2... that sends a message that underperforming vets aren't immune to consequences cuz right now there are no consequences for vets on a Maurice coached team

Jets have tons of talent and I'm not sure that they are being put in the best position to succeed. I think a coaching change would wake them up. Look at Columbus. Say what you want about Torts but he will die for that team.. no excuses no bs just straight forward... play this way and win. I see lots of excuses by Maurice. The schedule excuse.. yeah it was rough but you don't say it publicly because it gives your team an excuse to suck. I think coaching HAS to be the problem. .. 2 many times this team has come out and laid an egg in the 2nd period. In football terms the other team adjusts and the Jets do not.
-
Being outplayed out worked and out coached by Vancouver is a yuuuge problem
-
When mostly everyone fails to show up I think you look at the coaches. Jets didn't seem prepared to play after the 1st. Very disorganized and sloppy. Very Claude Noel a few games b4 being fired ish
-
What's the excuse tonight I wonder. Outside of Helle who seriously kept this from being even worse... Jets absolutely sucked crap. Great 1st tho. Went missing in the 2nd and 3rd tho. Happens much to often it seems. Not sure what goes on between the first and 2nd intermission but whatever does needs to change

Every goal Maurice looks at the monitor on the bench. It's actually kind of funny. Why does he do that. Every time
