Trouba is a RFA... he can't be claimed, he can be offer sheeted but most teams don't have the space or the requirements outside of 4 first round picks (which trouba isn't worth) to make the offer sheet, Jets match all other equivalent offer sheets. I'd imagine they'd take the 4 firsts but noones gonna offer that cuz Trouba isn't crosby lemieux or gretzky despite what DADDY Trouba might think.

Sometimes, and i think Lawless does this also, you have to read between the lines of what Maurice (and his feeling is basically the entire organizations feeling) is saying... and if you did that, Pavelec being sent down was pretty obvious. Honestly, the second i heard Maurice say 1 pre-season game doesn't matter and we will be basing our decision on the entire body of work, well... It was pretty obvious PAV was being sent down or traded or whatever... his time was done. Because if you do like at the entire body of work, like i said before, well, Pavelec has the worst numbers of all of them, here's the deal, some might say i'm surprised they sent pav down because of how shakey helle looked vs Edmonton? Well, fun fact, Pav has several, more than 10, probably closer to 20 games like that a year in the NHL... more maybe... 1 game does not prove anything. But 5 or 6 years of below average by NHL standards goaltending by Pavelec shows you that, yeah Helle might struggle, yeah Hutch might struggle, yeah they will have some bad games and they will have some good games, but you know what? Pavelec had 5 or 6 years to prove he deserved to be a number 1 goaltender, bottom line? he didn't do it and sending him down and moving on from him now, considering he isn't in their future plans, it's safe to say he's done as a JET for sure now.... it's the right thing to do. It allows the younger goalie the chance to grow with the younger team in front of him. Pavelec wasn't gonna be signed after this contract and that in essence is why he was sent down, he's not part of the future and his past shows you that he's not good enough, Maybe Helle and Hutch might not be good enough either, but Pav has had 5 or 6 years of not being good enough. I know it's hard for some to admit, but the bottom line in all this... Pavelec sucks and has sucked for 5 or 6 years... he had 1 good year where his numbers were inflated by a flukey stretch of games, the year we made the playoffs, that was his only good year and it wasn't even a good year, it was a good couple weeks that inflated his numbers.... he went back to being the below average goalie tho that he has been his entire career and for that matter, the below average goalie he was for most of the season we made the playoffs minus his 2 week stretch where he was just out of this world... but the thing is, if he was just average for most of that season, then he wouldn't have needed to go on a hot streak like that at the end just to make the playoffs. This is the right move and I'd imagine, most people are thrilled with the news. This is 1 less player on their roster that isn't good enough. Now Thorburn and Stuart are the only 2 left. lol But i understand why they didn't waive them, because you know what, for as much as we like to rip on stu or thorburn, they probably would be claimed, so my guess is thor is probably moved in a trade later this year instead of losing him for nothing at the end of the year or for nothing on waivers, yeah maybe we get a 3rd rd pick back... that's better than nothing.. with Pav, if someone claims him (they won't) and if they do, that's awesome actually, but he won't be so you can risk losing him for nothing cuz he's an asset that has very little to absolutely zero value to any team in the league. And honestly, my suspicions about Pavelec became even more clear once maurice after the last game vs Minny, well, he talked about how he liked hutch's positioning, how he basically wasn't flopping around out there, mentioned strong positioning and the positioning argument, well, that's one of Pavelecs major weakness's, his positioning is poor, he has to make the spectacular save because he's out of position so much, where as helle and hutch, they are i guess more boring in net, they don't need to make the spectacular save because... well, because they have better positioning than pavelec does. It's a good day for sure.

Pavelec on waivers... growing antlers
-
But they also had the best view in the house. My guess.... there was no evidence that he fumbled b4 he was down by contact.
-
He's a 18 yr old rookie. He might and probably will be on Scheifs wing one day but not to start his career
-
Just to add ... Winning a game 9 to 8 is the same as winning 2 to 1. It's 2 points. D zone play Is important but just like football and every other sport.... you win because you score more than the other team.
-
Armia isn't a proven player tho. Plus Perreault and Armia had some nice chemistry last year. I like Laine Perreault Armia. It's a Damn good line with 3 skilled players. I also like Connor Little and Stafford tho. It works. Little and Stafford have some chemistry and Connor brings some finishing ability. Our top 9 is pretty good actually. Here's the way I see it... Connor Little Stafford is IS IS our what you'd call 3rd line. Laine Perreault Armia is our 2nd.

Well ... this thread shows me who is here to actually talk football and who is here to I don't want to say complain so let's just call it.... ***** about the bombers regardless of a win or loss. I mean really... we won the Damn game.... because for the most part we were the better team. But I guess that's not important to some people.... some would rather ***** about how we won. Bottom line.. we got 2 points. They got none. All bomber fans should be happy with the win. Just curious what those bitching about the win would say I'd this happened to us instead? Also.... let's stop pretending that the command center was wrong and ppl watching on TV were right.

As for Connor. .. I like him and think he will be a star one day but that day probably isn't this year. He needs to work on his D zone for sure... just like ehlers did last year. Laine is much better in the d zone than Connor.... you could argue that Laine right now is probably one of our better overall players... he's certainly better than Connor and I would argue he's better than ehlers defensively. I think ehlers has improved his d zone play big time the last year and I still think he had lots of work to do... Connor? I think he's an offensive machine but I think he's got a ways to go defensively to even catch up to ehlers even.

Yeah. Guys that are proven 20 goal scorers are awful. Laine isn't starting on the Scheif line. Not a chance. Noticed I called it the scheif line instead of the 1st line? Why. Because we are in a day and age where sometimes the 3rd line gets more minutes than the 1st. The days of lines 1 2 and 3 are gone. It's now all about having 3 scoring lines and ideally you have 4. Some nights the Perreault line will get more minutes than the scheif line. Some nights the little line will get more. But staff with little and Connor? Why not. He's a proven 20 goal scorer and at this momen Is our 2nd best RW behind Wheeler. There's no debating thar even. It's fact. Right now Laine is s lw... so is ehlers.... so is Connor. 2 of the 3 are unproven and 1 is a sophomore. Stafford is with little because that's where he deserves to be. And yeah this is probably stafford last year with the Jets... but it doesn't take away from the fact that besides wheeler he is our best RW right now.

Do people honestly believe pavelec will be starting when he's played exactly 1 game in 6 months and it was against an echl equivalent
-
It will be Hutch starting.
-
Maurice said it's time to find the courage to make the tough decisions. To me that means the courage to tell a few vets that they are moving on.
-
I thought that they got suckered in to making a few calls by buono on the sidelines. When you can hear Wally talking most the game... it's pretty obvious that the refs were influenced by what he said a couple times.
-
Leggett. O'shea. Dressler. HH to Jake Thomas. HM to Mike O'shea also for being way more quiet today since he was mic'd up. And to Kohlert for throwing a td pass. Dude is 2 for 2 this year lol. I don't particularly care for the mic'd up aspect
-
Watching at home it was pretty obvious that the whistle blew b4 the ball came out. I even said to my girlfriend that it's bomber ball cuz the whistle blew. Rod black was pretty convinced that Harris fumbled and that kind of put me at ease cuz he's wrong most of the time. Announcing was pathetic. They basically verbally jerked off the Lions and especially buono all game long. Refs were just awful also.

If I'm making the D decisions Buff Enstrom Myers Morrissey Postma Stuart Yup. Stuart has been the best out of Chiarot Strait Melchiori
-
Perreault Scheif Wheeler Laine little ehlers Buff Toby Myers even Connor. .. they have made the team and know it so what I saw tonight we're guys who really didn't care about the result of a game that means nothing. Buff taking a penalty and then laughing about it is a huge reminder that pre season means pretty much **** all.
-
Hutch looked fine. Buff Wheeler Scheif Little etc looked like they didn't care. It's pre season. The goal is to not get hurt.
-
This Is a young team with a bright future. Why not let the younger goalies grow with the team. Helle has nothing more to prove in the AHL.
-
Lol. Hutch has better career nhl numbers than pav does. It's crazy how much some people read in to pre season games. Hutch was fine. It's going to be Hutch and Helle this year. Pav will be traded or waived. It's happening. You know what you take from these games? Nothing really. Dano and Morrissey stood out tho. Solid games from both. Tanev LowryCopp Dano 4th line looks good to me. I think Burmistrov Thorburn and Chiarot really struggled tonight tho and have all preseason. To get back to the goalies tho... Maurice has said From day 1... 1 game doesn't matter... Pav getting a shutout against the echl version of Calgary doesn't matter. Helle letting in 5 vs nhl team pretty much Edmonton doesn't matter. Same thing with Hutch tonight. He's said they will look at their overall body of work... and if you actually do that.... Hutch has better career numbers than pav and so does helle. Pav has no future here. None zilch zero Nadda. He done. Hutch Helle will be the goalies to start the year.

D needs to step up. And Did. Moe is our MVP
-
St Louis Chicago... they are both in the Central division. If Yak finds his game this is a massive steal for St Louis.
-
Dressler is way better than Denmark. It's not close. Dressler Denmark Smith Gurley Kohlert is a good group. Adams probably replaces Denmark when he's healthy
-
Who cares. It's one year plus if they send him down they actually get 950000 dollars of cap relief. Who cares. It's the smart thing to do. You can't develope comrie with helle around also. It's 1 year. Anaheim is more of a budget team than the Jets and they sent Stoner to the A. He makes what? 3.5 million. Pavelec on the Moose makes the most sense moving forward.
