I’m pretty sure they changed that rule a few years ago… a qb can give himself up any way, not just a feet first slide… that said, I don’t think that play was an intentional target and I agreed with the non-call… he slid late and the defenders were already engaged in making a tackle… I also am happy the injury spotter pulled him for safety (easier to say that after Brown came in and finished off the job 😄)

So I guess Dru Brown is "officially" the back up

Here Dunk, let me do your job for you... here are some of the reason the Bombers could drop off this season: - top players getting older and unlikely to replicate career years from last year: e.g. Bighill, Jefferson, Jeffcoat, Collaros - question marks in the kicking game (Walters did alright figuring that out last year) - three new players in defensive backfield coverage: Glass, Thompson, Ruteledge (though that wasn't a problem last year) - top guard (Desjarlais) gone to the NFL with his best replacement (Eli) not returning - top receiver now in Edmonton - important veterans/leaders now with other teams (Harris, Adams) Now, I don't think all (or any) of these things are gong to be major problems for the Bombers... but if you're going to go on record saying the Bombers will regress... at least get your facts right

I have no problem with Dunk putting the Stamps ahead of the Bombers... I'm good with anything that keeps our boys motivated But his comment about Harris is so amateurish, it's borderline embarrassing... Yes Andrew Harris is/was a very important player on this team... but how you can you say that the Bombers will not be as good because they lost a player who missed half of last season is now gone??

The other problem is money... if you want a backup with experience that can actually play, you're looking at probably 200k.... Mtl got a nice discount on Harris at 175k... So @SpeedFlex27, if this experienced qb were available, which area of the team would you be comfortable downgrading to accommodate the back QBs salary?

I think I lot of people forget or overestimate how big Streveler is/was... he is mighty powerful but he's only 6'1, 215 lbs... People talk about him like he was 6'5, 230... if he was, he would've never come up north...

Not surprised the Bombers are leaving most starters at home... about 80-85% played the first quarter just three nights ago... don't want to over do it in pre-season

Here's a dumb question from someone who has attended almost every game at IGF so far... how does parking work near the stadium? Can I just pay when I get there or do I need a pass? I only don't know bc I have a friend who lives just off University near Pembina and I always park at his house and walk... I'm bringing my 5 year old tonight and he probably won't be up for the long walk.

agreed... and as long as his skate stays on the ice... there's no danger to any other players... thus it should be a good goal if they changed to "skate on ice" rule

I wonder if this will be enough for the NHL to change the rule from the ridiculously vague "distinct kicking motion" to the much more logical "skate on ice"... the whole point of the rule is to protect players from skates being flung around in high danger areas... skates stays on the ice, goal is good... skate is lifted, no goal.

Maybe he's not guilty of a criminal offense... but there's a pretty good chance something happened... and it gives a bad look to the Bombers and the CFL... Bombers management won't stand for that... they released him and moved on... nothing more to see here, in my opinion
