  1. Well that sucks.....was hoping Marcel was in the conversation too Hopefully they've reached a consensus on Marcel's fate so there's no need for a power struggle.
  2. If he does this the potential for a HC position coming open could increase substantially.
  3. Can't imagine the A&W Root Bear in blue and gold, just wouldn't look right. On another front apparently sparks are flyiing in the Bomber's offices over Etch's future. Kirk Penton ‏@PentonKirk 10m10 minutes ago @3lue_n_6old Sounds like there's a power struggle over Etcheverry's future right now.
  4. Randolph Scott retired and became active in the LA gay community. And if you don't believe that he was gay, you would probably also have a hard time accepting that Danny Kaye and Sir Laurence Olivier were a couple. Nooooo....and all these years I thought that old cowpoke was a straight shooter! Not sure if he was a "cow-poke". I guess in reality he was more of a "man-poker".

  6. Whatever happened to Randolph Scott?
  7. Agreed. If amiability was Khari's only asset, we should pass on him. He has shown himself to be smart, personable and a student of the game, so if he is available, he ought to warrant an interview. I'm not sure that the past couple of years in BC are what we ought to judge him by- no durable quarterback and a horrible offensive line. Khari was only in BC this year. Last year he was QB coach with the Riders. He was rumoured to be in the running for the OC position here, but we decided to stay with MB for some crazy reason. Not that BC's offense was any better or more consistent, mind you. At the time Khari said he'd only come to the Bombers to be HC. That's incorrect, Khari interviewed for OC here but O'Shea decided to hire Marcel over him.
  8. What's with the infatuation with 300 yard games? The leaders in this stat. were Ray and Willy, despite the flying pigskins neither managed to secure a playoff spot for their teams. In the end oddly wins seem to count more than passing yards.
  9. Great news! That's half of the equation, have the scat back now Walters needs to go out and find a power back for short yardage. Pretty sure they will be able to find him playing in the CFL for another team so no need to bring in a CFL newbie as there's likely to be a number of proven RB's cut in the off-season due to over stock on a few teams. Doubt Sask. cuts Allen but Miller might be available. Stamps went through about six this year due to injury so doubt they will hold on to all of them, Martell Mallett was a force in the games that he played.
  10. Cauchy Muamba is playing on a Jones D??? What's next Goltz leading them to a G.C. victory!!!
  11. Montreal wins with Crompton, they'll continue to run with him as long as that happens more than not. What exactly makes him the worst QB in the league?
  12. My quote function isn't working but TSN said that Garcia was open to HC offers.
  13. Garcia is interested in an HC job, would like to see him as OC in Wpg. if he doesn't get any HC offers.
  14. I think there will be major changes in BC, good opportunity for Wpg. to pick up some castoffs. Time for Wally to get his ice pick out and clean house.
  15. Bear Woods would be a steal, Walters should start loading up the Brinks truck now to get it done.
  16. Yah, where are all the Crompton haters? He's getting it done again.
  17. Highlights? Anywhere? Searched high and low and could not even find mention of the game on any sports media website.....discouraging.
  18. Etch. Kuale put in good effort but he rarely got his hands on the RB and he's not mobile enough to chase down a RB like Solly can.
  19. Got to agree with this sentiment. Re-watched a few games specifically to see why Kuale was relatively ineffective as a MLB stopping the run. I concluded that for the most part he started plays in a bad lateral position and had to fight his way back through D-linemen to get to the running lanes instead of coming down hill to fill a gap as with most defencive schemes. It was ludicrous to continually have Kuale starting plays up on the line of scrimmage threatening blitz when the only QB he could probably ever catch would be Willy.
  20. wild hurt for a couple games, Anderson lost for the season, vega playing injury all year...can you think of a defence that would be successful with as poor a defensive line as the Bombers had this year?Even before those guys got hurt we couldn't stop the run. That's the thing for me... Even with our personnel at 100% for the games we had them it made no difference. The other thing to consider is every team has injuries. You can't continually use that as an excuse for under performance. If the defense is sound. If every gap is covered from A-D then it should work. We need the right personnel in place. Every time we needed the defense late in games to seal the win for us, they failed. As the game went on, our run defense couldn't get the job done. They were worn out. I saw us out physicalled, if that is even a word... Pushed back 5 yards everytime. Our O struggled, yes. But there were games when it was up to Etch's defense to get the ball back for the O by stopping the other teams running backs & they never did. For me, the first change that needs to be made is who's running the defense & that is Etcheverry.and all those rushing yards led to exactly 1 loss in that Early going. So who cares about rushing yards allowed of it doesn't result in losses? Some of you are just so dead set I your ways and any scheme or design that goes against what you believe HAS to be wrong. Etch wasn't the problem.....But it did result in losses. We could never get the ball back or stop the other teams run games later in the season in the late fourth quarter to seal the deal. That can't be ignored. The defense was terrible. First 6 games when etch had his starters in.. Were we getting ran on like it was going out of style? Honestly, I don't know but I think that when our D-line and LBs started to drop like flies, our run defense went down... As did the pass rush, even the blitzes were ineffective after Labour Day.
  21. I doubt it. I bet he's saving that rant for next week.
  22. Here's a clue, he got injured. He was also injured twice this season in 7 games so his durability is a question in my mind. Hopefully Washington can improve his ball security skills over the off-season because inevitably O'Shea will give him another crack at returning kick-offs.
  23. I think it's time to change a silly trend.
  24. Grigsby over Steele? Obviously talent isn't a requirement to become an Easter All-Star. These awards and being named as the "CFL Greatest Athlete" will look splendid in Grigsby's portfolio when he's looking for work next year. Of course none of this will swell Nic's head.
  25. What, Joey "have football will travel" Elliot isn't available?
