  1. I think it's also important to note that some religions have moderated their views in conjunction with changing social mores, and others haven't. The ones that haven't should be the focus of ongoing vitriol in my opinion, especially in places where people are being executed. Yes, the Irish have made amazing strides!
  2. I disagree, Willy's accumulated injuries and poor pass protection may have played a significant role in his inability to connect long with Bryant but there is no denying that Romby was a burner and that was the role he was brought in to play.
  3. Hoping to see an improved coaching performance from O'Shea this year both on and off the field. Listening to the Coach's Show or any interview with him last year was somewhat "Kellyesque" and akin to the torture of watching QP in the House of Commons. A whole shitload of non-answers presented as "none of your business". Hopefully O'Shea takes ownership of the offence, defence and special teams this year and overcomes some of the poor personnel management that was apparent in year one. Richie Hall gets a bye this year but Pat Tracey should be on probation and I hope Marcel is kept on an extremely tight leash such that there is an actual choke chain around his neck leading from the coach's box down to field level.
  4. Even one of last years whipping boys Romby Bryant was not as bad as some make him out to be. In anticipation of the upcoming season I've been re-watching the 2014 games and up until game 9 there are at least 4 times that Willy significantly miscalculated Romby's speed and under-threw the ball nullifying large gains or potential TD's. On many of these throws Romby was in the clear but by the time the ball arrived a defender was there to knock it down. If the two of them could have got their timing down early in the season I believe the mass tide against Bryant may not have swelled to the extent that it did.
  5. That contract seems out of line for an unproven import. It looks like the Als are playing the publicity card for all it's worth.
  6. Very true, unless of course he is an albino. We have to draw the line somewhere.
  7. Walters mentioned that he was giving Lattanzio a shot at playing fullback to push Pontbriand.
  8. We've all suffered, can we please not regurgitate past regimes???....Forward ho!
  9. As I recall Leggett stole the safety job from Sears last year due to his "football intelligence" which ultimately helped the entire D backfield in pass defence. I don't believe he is as heavy a hitter as Sears so I can't see him moving up to LB either. Waggoner will have a steep learning curve to overcome adapting to the CFL so I expect he may remain backup behind Hurl for the first half of the season at least. I'm hoping Sherman isn't the odd man out in this equation as I appreciated his contribution last year and hope he continues to develop his skills in a Bomber uniform.
  10. Sounds like Kyle owes Duane Forde a doughnut. Also - how pissed off is Wally right now? He had this kid in the bag and Forde totally screwed it up for him. It would have been interesting to know if Wally was planning to switch Waggoner's passport after the draft passed by.
  11. So how do they decide the Bombers pick has the most value?
  12. That's what i was thinking, eventually it looks like they will not require a National to play the corner. Being a professional football player must be an insanely stressful job.
  13. I predict that there's going to be some table scraps coming out of this T.C. that never hit the floor. Sherman, Hurl, Newman and now Waggoner all fighting for the same jobs.
  14. Crimony, that's a high price to pay. They pretty much have to start this guy regardless of the competition or they lose face. Don't like how this scenario is shaping up and I think somewhere Sam Hurl just put his fist through a wall.
  15. I'm a bit surprised especially since improving the fan experience seems to to be Wade's mandate on his way to extracting $$ from pockets. If they drew over a thousand last year for opening day, than this sounds like a golden opportunity to expand their business and start their season off with a big publicity bang. Accommodating and involving the fans at this event is probably looked upon by the coaches and players as a PITA but In the end it all works toward paying their wages by creating awareness and excitement for the season to come.
  16. Surprised no other team has picked up Morley yet, may be he is contemplating retirement.
  17. I'd be very surprised if Picard's salary is carried beyond 2016 T.C. They will get what they can out of him this year but I think his days are numbered and he will be replaced by Goosen to start next season.
  18. One other consideration is chopping salary from underachieving receivers, I think this is a make it or break it year for Nick Moore. Paying Import receivers $150+ is unnecessary and has not benefited any CFL team as far as I can tell. Walters is doing a great job so far and there's no shame in swallowing a few rookie mistakes he may have made.
  19. If Walter's has to dump salary, start with Neufeld and get whatever he can for him. In my eyes Neufeld is still listed as potential and there's little proof that he will become a reliable starter. I just re-watched Game 4 of last season against Edm. and on many plays Neufeld was a virtual turnstile for Willis and company. Lining up beside Bryant is going to raise Greaves game to another level and solidify the left side of the line. I suspect Greaves has at least 3-4 years of starter left in him and he will play those years in Wpg. or elsewhere in the CFL, the same can not be predicted for Neufeld.
  20. Simple solution to ridding Alberta of this social menace, sterilization. When these single mothers come in to collect their welfare bounty, have them zapped. Might as well do their rug-rats at the same time to help break the cycle of poverty and despair and further protect Alberta from infestation down the road.
  21. I nominate you as the new O.C. Go tell Marcel he's fired.
  22. Hate to see players cut prior to training camp, makes it difficult to assess whether they are cutting the right players without letting them compete.
  23. I would expect Chungh will have his eyes fixed on another NFL tryout in 2 or 3 years, not a different CFL home if he is as successful as we all hope. These short contracts are turning the CFL into a "rent-a-player" league for the best athletes.
  24. Sorry, can't see a CFL player developing an NHL attitude with the amount of money they are paid and the competition they face keeping a job. Apples to oranges.
  25. Chungh, good. I see Richards as the next Rory Kohlert, do we need another? Morgan looks to be a good athlete who will likely end up as a career special teamer, I think they could have picked him up in a much later round. Surprised the Bombers and so many other teams passed on Durant as he has the talent, size and passport to be a future star in the CFL. As for attitude, I don't trust pre-evaluation of this characteristic for what it's worth. Apparently he is not well-spoken and shy, does that equate to a "bad attitude"? Ever seen a Cory Watson interview??? Durant's college stats. speak volumes, those kind of numbers can't be achieved without strong motivation and dedication. This guy is still young, put him in a good locker room with older wiser football players and coaches and I predict he learns to tow the line pretty solidly.
