Hey if you get offended being compared to Nasty Nate don't offend O'Shea comparing him to Burke. He is a way better coach than Burke could ever hope to be. I don't see the evidence that O'Shea is better than Burke. They were both good coordinators with bad head coaching records. Other than style, what's the difference?

Last week O'Shea was involved directly in the ST practices and it seemed to reap rewards. This week I hope he sticks his nose deep into the O practices if for no other reason to send a message that he's paying close attention to their preparation and performance.

Week 10 Aug 30 Sask@Ott. (Tor 15 Edm. 38)

Bombers ain't no better. Ow. -
If this is true, why in the hell couldn't the 6-8 highly paid professional "mutton heads" in the war room come to this conclusion in the off-season? The QB lineup they presented at training camp was an absolute sham as they put all of their chips down on the new and improved O-Line being able to protect their golden Willy all the way to the Grey Cup game and left nothing in the basket for "Plan-B" from outer space.

I'd take Khari at this point too. I'd like to see Khari as OC as well, but wouldn't talking to him at this time constitute tampering?

Hopefully Sask. demonstrates this level of ineptitude next week. I keep thinking the Bombers and Riders are twins, they basically have the same problems. -

Best summation so far. -
Mark, either you've had a stroke or you're trying to type these messages on a watch. Which is it?

Marve was better last year usuing his natural abilities, this year he's been enrolled in Marcel's QB kindergarten and is failing miserably.

O'Shea is a terrible head coach. The only difference between he & Burke is he doesn't cry. Results exactly the same. They lose & lose & lose. Iso...what hard facts do you have that proves Mike O'Shea a terrible head coach? Sure you can look at the record but i'm not sure that alone is evidence enough. In my opinion Mike O'Shea is at this time an average head coach who could become a good one. But even the best head coaches in this league have had their lows. Other than that you have no real evidence of his ability to coach. Other than your subjective views. Mike O'Shea is a terrible head coach period. The proof is in the record. Not sure why you would think otherwise. And his record IMHO is evidence enough. BRT...that's the easy answer but what other evidence do you have. Come on prove it too me. Has he made in game mistakes? I haven't seen many if any. Roster decisions? Are we really in the know that we can criticize them? Do we watch practise? Do we break down the game film and focus on a particular players execution? Do we have direct access to the medical staff to know who's healthy enough to play and who's not? It's easy for some to dump on O'Shea just due to the record. True, but ultimately "that record" is O'Shea's responsibility, even if blame can be dumped on his coordinators.

I think that's a bit of an over-reaction, generally other than a few positions like MLB, backup QB and overall O-Line strength I believe the Bombers have the personnel in place to compete with any team. Moving Bass to MLB and allowing a rotation of Hurl, Sherman and Newman at OLB would show an immediate improvement in the D imo. While the other two areas are more difficult to fix I think adding an extra import on the O-line would be a rational move to make at this point.

I don't have the optimism to believe that keeping Willy healthy under Marcel's protection scheme is a sustainable plan for the future. Marve was juking and jiving to avoid being tackled in the "death pocket" and without that mobility he would have been sacked at least 4 more times.

Do or Die Detailed Half Time Report...

Crompton could probably be traded for. -
Yah, I'm pretty much open to any temp. replacement now including Buck. Season is lost after Sask. wipes their ass with the Bombers in the next two games.

Do or Die Detailed Half Time Report...

No spark, no fire. We just witnessed a football exhibition devoid of even one exciting offencive play executed by the home team, and on "Cow Bell Night" to boot! Lucky those damn things didn't come raining down upon the field after that performance. Poor Brian Brohm would be scarred for life. "More cow bells Brian?" Nnoooooooo!!! -
Got to wonder if O'Shea inspires any level of fear in his players, often that is the only thing that works when positive motivation fails. He was a mean-ass player but I don't get the impression that he's a mean-ass coach.

I may have had one too many brown ales last night but I thought I saw shades of Warren Moon in Franklin's performance. Very calm presence and smooth delivery and frankly a little boring to watch him perform. I like QB's with a little bit more frenetic energy that will throw the ball with either hand if need be. -
Because he, and the OL as a whole, aren't playing to our expectations. I was very excited when we signed Picard, but I've changed my mind. For all criticizing the signing of Picard, do you really think Chungh would be playing as well as he has in his first year if he had Morley as a teacher? An O-Line of "gentle giants" has not served the Bombers well in the past. I understand some people need a whipping boy but I think Picard adds value to the O-Line as a whole with his attitude and leadership even if it is only for the remainder of this year.

I believe Gibson is injured.

He doesn't play nearly as much anymore. That's probably an intelligent way to use him, keeps him healthy for the clutch plays and games.
