Riders try to grab Stampeders’ OL off practice roster As per Justin Dunk: http://3downnation.com/2016/07/30/riders/ Riders try to grab Stampeders’ OL off practice roster Posted on July 30, 2016 by Justin Dunk // 1 Comment Saskatchewan tried to nab Canadian offensive lineman Roman Grozman from Calgary’s practice roster this past week, per CFL sources. The Riders have had a spate of injuries occur among their offensive line group. Those setbacks have landed Chris Best, Brendon LaBatte, Dan Clark, Matt Vonk, Dillon Guy and Xavier Fulton on the six-game injured list. Five of those blockers carry a Canadian passport, which has made national offensive line depth very thin in Riderville. That led to the Riders trying to take Grozman from the Stampeders, but the six-foot-four, 319-pounder declined. “They could have drafted him. They’re trying to build a team by scooping up other teams’ developmental players,” a CFL source says. There are two ways a team can protect a practice roster player. The first is activating him for at least two games. The second would be for the player to decline going to the team who tries to claim them, which is what Grozman did. Back in June, the Riders added two Canadians who declined practice roster spots with the B.C. Lions. And No. 1 overall pick, Josiah St. John went down in Saskatchewan’s 41-3 loss to Montreal on Friday. -
That has been fully debated, if you missed the rebuttal here is the summary.

Bombers better lock up the cabinet and hide their D-backs well, Jones has nothing in that department. -

Anybody else notice that Solly is no longer a force of nature? Looks like the injuries have finally caught up with him and Bighill is now their best LB. -

Oh, they're already restless and the defenders of Jonestown have gone into hiding. -
I hope they keep Kohlert inside and throw Davis, Sheppard or Mayo to the WR position.

Yep.

The name is Bond...Travis Bond

The Bombers need a new crystal ball, this should have been the obvious strategy from day one. -
Especially considering McDuffie might be out for awhile too.

Good point, I don't think we would have seen the likes of Bond if it wasn't for Neufeld's injury. The coaching staff has to give up on some of their preconceived notions and look at the talent they've assembled with the bare eye. Bond played Tackle in the two pre-season games and he looked like he could pass defend while eating a ham sandwich with one hand, it looked effortless.

One was supposed to be out of bounds but he couldn't get enough on it, huge mistake. -
Impressed with Loffler but are they using him the same way they use Macho? If you watch Macho half the time he is playing up close to the line helping out wherever, it seems Loffler is more suited to traditional pass defence from the Safety spot.

I don't recall this guy, was he injured right through TC?

3 rookie mistakes by Jennings and Wally mismanaged by throwing away his timeouts on ridiculous challenges. Good to see the Cgy. fans loud and getting into the game. -

Wow, what a performance by Jennings, mobility and accuracy combined. Lulay isn't getting his job back. -

Coaches have to learn to use these challenges strategically and at least wait for big plays like RTP or long PI calls that move the ball half way to the goal-line. Wasting them on plays that gain 5-10 yards is pretty stupid, especially when the challenge fails. -

BC continues to impress, I thought for sure Cgy. would be putting them in their place and chase Jennings from the game but BC looks to be a real contender. -

Question is, how much better or worse was that Als team compared to the one that beat the Bombers in game #1? -
