  1. Don't be distracted, fingers are being pointed at the wrong people, they were put in a no-win situation and obviously failed, as would anyone in similar circumstances. Look to the top of the pyramid, not the bottom.
  2. Larry is bereft of solutions, his only plan is to jump aboard the coat-tails of a passing gravy train headed in the right direction, just another executive who cares not whether he sells hamburger or human organs, it's all just meat to him.
  3. Many in the US are pouring out their anger on Uvalde police dept. demanding their pound of flesh, again just a distraction from the real issue at hand....but hey, got to blame someone.
  4. From the desk of the Mighty Tanenbaum. MLSE Chair Larry Tanenbaum speaks about the CFL I do have to ask about the Argos, because the CFL seems constantly in trouble. Is there a solution to the league’s challenges? Yeah, I thought so, and I was working on it, but I’m not sure there’s alignment among [some of] the other ownership groups of the other eight teams. The community-owned teams seem to be satisfied with what’s happening in the CFL, so we’re working to see how the Argos fit into that scenario. I’m not happy with it. I’m not happy with the structure of the league. My concern is, in the major cities of Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, it’s not attracted the younger fan engagement. You look at value creation and, you know, quite unfortunately, these teams are not worth that much money. The hockey, basketball or soccer teams are trading at hundreds of millions of dollars, in some cases billions of dollars. And you see the Argos, you know, a 106-year-old league, and what value creation are these franchises trading at? You’ve got to look at that and say, Is that success?
  5. I've never watched that one, always thought it was just a network cop show. I'm not very interested in anything fictional.
  6. As I miss a lot of the broadcasts during the summer I've had both in the past, the TSN "Games on Demand" is unreliable, unpredictable and frustrating, sometimes they make CFL replays available for a limited time, sometimes they don't even bother, no reason or rhyme. The dedicated CFL subscription services such as Yare TV post all games shortly after they end, and leave them up for the entire season to re-watch on demand. They used to cut out the commercials but they no longer do that, so re-watching a game takes just as long. If you only want to watch Bomber games a single team package can be purchased for $30 USD.
  7. This series isn't as broad as the Wire, it seems to be focussed mostly on the Police perspective, the criminal element are bit players and carry no weight. I can't see it running for more than a season or two as it's telling a very specific story. In some ways I think it's a reaction to the BLM movement, they have the Office of Civil Rights represented in the storyline for show, but in Baltimore, there are no solutions and nobody ever wins, they just keep shuffling the deck.
  8. I think so, Nichols never recovered from his injuries, Strev. couldn't get it done, and McGuire never panned out. If Pinball keeps Collaros the Bombers may have ended up with MBT, Arbuckle, Trevor Harris or maybe renewed their hopes signing Masoli this season.
  9. Not quite. Eric Tillman (born July 24, 1957)[1][2] is an American-born Canadian football executive who is the vice president of football operations for the Atlantic Schooners. I wonder if that is a paying gig, if so, who's paying him?
  10. Maybe not as big as the Ray trade, but Pinball's generosity in trading Collaros to the Bombers on the last day of the 2019 tradeline certainly has had a huge ongoing effect pushing them up over the hump. Without the miraculous delivery of Collaros, is O'Shea still H.C. with no cups in 7 years? Maybe not.
  11. "We Own This City", Baltimore, David Simon, corrupt police and politicians, drugs, money and guns, a few familiar faces from the Wire, well done and well worth watching.
  12. I took the Coquihalla last weekend, and it's amazing how quickly they've repaired the roads and bridges on that route in such a short amount of time. There was plenty of lane reductions and slowdowns but no actual stops or delays. What surprised me was the amount of activity the Trans-Canada pipeline expansion project is adding to the existing chaos. You would think they could delay this project until the infrastructure is fully repaired, but they seem to be working in about 50 different locations along the way, with hundreds of vehicles, and a workforce of thousands going at it 24/7 working in the dark with spotlights. Wonder why the rush?
  13. They are currently in a buying frenzy to purchase every handgun and semi-auto available on store shelves before the ban comes into effect, one is never enough, they're often purchasing 2-3 at a time. The following forum is a glimpse into their deranged world view. https://www.snowandmud.com/threads/gun-control-its-coming.123023/page-57
  14. The main selling point is that we're swiftly moving in the opposite direction of the US gun policy, while we still can. There is a small but loud percentage of our population that will complain and fight these measures, but for the most part it is what the vast majority of Canadians want. I don't mind saying, I want to see this group of regressive nuts squished out like a bug, after the embarrassing "Freedum March" my patience with their stupidity wore out.
  15. Bravo, hopefully they can shut down handgun and semi-auto sales for good, keep pushing until all loopholes are eliminated. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/handguns-liberal-bill-1.6470554
  16. The following video contains everything you need to know about Texas. https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/uzzg5a/a_4_year_old_child_being_praised_for_treating_a/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Another indication that the battle to control firearms is beyond winning. https://blog.chron.com/narcoconfidential/2015/10/texas-request-to-buy-guns-tops-1-million-for-year/
  17. Yare TV has been offering the same package for 3-4 years. https://cfl.yaretv.com/#packages
  18. He's from Hawaii, I bet he's sitting on a beach getting fat. I know I would.
  19. Only 2 QB's available on gameday, I think Brown's lack of size is going to hamper him on 3rd down sneaks if they stick with him as backup, O'Shea may have to exercise a bit more caution in calling them. McGuire, Strev and LeFevour made successful 3rd down sneaks a given, all 3 had good power and size.
  20. Back in the day when bushes grew along the sidelines.
  21. I hope they follow through with this investigation and identify the credit card holders, and don't just drop it now that Kenney has resigned. I think he knew he couldn't win by cheating again this time, as too many eyes were watching him for any sleight of hand.
  22. The problem with doing that is Wilson would be restricted to playing 49.9% of snaps, so no advantage.
  23. No need to count, chips in helmets are coming, within a few years every player will have a chip in their helmet which tracks plays they're involved in, player direction and speed, and whether they're on the field or off. More stats. will create more tie ins for gambling and fantasy football.
  24. If you humour these people and prolong the conversation you will soon discover, racism and homophobia bubbling just beneath the surface. In my line of work I deal with a few like this everyday, and I do my best not to engage. They are not smart, informed or educated, mostly just angry for some reason.
  25. The sad reality is a lot of CFL players that attended US college for 3-4 years never graduate, and many that graduate with "special" degrees, could probably not pass a standard gr. 12 level Canadian high school exam if challenged. Many attend school solely to play football, and the US college system and the NCAA gladly accept and accommodate these "educationally challenged" student athletes to keep billions flowing in from attendance, broadcast and sponsorship deals.
