Sounds like Weston didn't exactly like the crap thrown his way, on his departure from saskabush....He was treated with genuine praise and was well liked, when he suited up for us and he has said as much....I know the impression of my career I would like going into the hof and it's not the final one he left behind in Regina

His wife is from Regina, in the end he may not get to make this decision. 😄

And then immediately played the next 3 years with an organization that has been in a class of it's own in regards to the treatment and ongoing support of it's players. Dressler is basically saying these were the years he enjoyed the most in his career, and based on where he came from I believe this is more than lip service. The Riders dissed him, the Bombers embraced him and helped him grow not just as a football player but as a relatively young man transitioning to a new chapter in his life. Dressler wants us all to know he respects the hell out of that. I will take his indecision at face value.

seeing as we coud conceivably not even have to field a started at DT being a Canadian would make way more sense, and we would be better served and stronger to have 2 import DT's who are impactful and a Canadian back up to both for rest/ and injury replacement and fill out the canadian component of the roster....now....big question is...what route does the Coach take, and has he learned from past how skimping on the dline via it be with the talent available, or the mumber in rotation has hurt us badly

Unlikely scenario, you know nothing like that will happen as it negates continuity and chemistry, 3 DT's in rotation is adequate, probably Fox, Schmeckle and Jake to start the season with another import on the PR.  Haba and Garbutt taking over from Jeffcoat with an import DE hopefully developing on the PR.

I wonder if those guys had a spotter working with them?  As far as I understand, the spotter is the guy who identifies the players involved in a play.

Still, very low quality commentary, esp compared to the gold standard of Knuckles. Knuckles was a home broadcaster but he was never a homer.

To be fair, there were multiple Bomber players wearing the same number for some reason.

Isn't the active roster built for 3 QBs though? It would be 3 on AR and 1 on PR

Last season they kept 3 on the active roster and 0 on the PR, with Strev. handling 3rd down and Brown's backup job, I don't see any reason to keep another QB on the active roster when he doesn't have a role.  Strev. will be hungry for every rep he can get, he didn't sign a bottom drawer contract to share limited snaps with a rookie.

Fair points on Barriere. I was definitely on the cut-him-train. But I think it's more reasonable to think that we should keep a QB on the PR and potentially not give up on a guy that seems to have a lot of special skills and just takes longer to learn the game.

Can't see them keeping 4 QB's around, 2 on the roster 1 on the PR is more efficient and cost effective, Sask. does it but it always proves rather wishy-washy and pointless as they end up cutting most of them anyway.  If a Bomber QB goes down they can always pick up a temp. like Arbuckle or Cornelius hot off the couch.

The problem with Schmekel last year is he had no business on the AR... that's a failure on management for not bringing in a veteran competent Canadian DL to take some reps... or a failure on the coaching staff to not adjust the ratio or take advantage of the nationalized American rule... either way, Schmekel should've been developing on the PR while continuing to "practice hard"... not playing actual games

Schmekel only dressed for 5 games last season, the rest of the year he was on the PR.  If they try putting him on the PR again this year, he may go home to Sask. With Lawson now out Schmeck has a chance to oust Jake as the 2nd Natl..

I think they'll stick with the 3 DT rotation again this year, 2 Natl's and 1 Import, take your pick which one they keep, one other stashed on the PR learning the ropes.

From what I saw, he is struggling to adapt to the 3 down game. He has the talent, do we have the patience?

It depends I guess, it took Vernon Adams 4-5 years to ascend to starter status, still not sure he was worth the time invested in developing him.  Physical tools are easy to evaluate, it's the mental tools a QB possesses that make the difference between the good and the mediocre.

For sure. having the best ol, and coaching in the league has really cemented the next man up process. Marty is a beast and I bet he’s excited about this crop of guys.
Imagine if manu comes up too lol. Embarrassing for other teams.

Eli Dobson and Wallace. Almost 1000lbs of beef.
I think neuf is in the verge of replacement, but his experience and leader ship for the right side is needed now more than in a very long time. He’s gonna be critical in settling our rt.

We are in great shape with the interior line and ni depth.

Two possibilities, Wallace heads back to NFL camps in the off-season for a couple of years, or he hastens the end of Neufeld's playing days as a Bomber.

Some guys especially qbs need time to adjust to the pro game. If that’s all they think he needs, with his upside, it’s well worth keeping him around.

Personally the top of the cut list would include Blackmon, vlaghionos, kornelson and a db or two. If you don’t cut mastro I’d suspend sheahan and let mastro punt next game.
Seems like we have a few spots that’d be easy to free up. Leroux could be sent back to college as well.

The Bombers have placed Castillo on the suspended list for impersonating a fiery Spanish golfer, his green card is being checked for validation and possible deportation by Sask. authorities.

Chris Smith, was unspectacular in the KR/PR but he did field nicely and went downhill every time. I believe that is who you were thinking about. The kick coverage is always lousy in the preseason for all teams that go into the game with the number of rookies that we did. I am not concerned by that, and expected that.

I don't think anyone grabbed the returner spot or can be considered a favorite at this point.

The Riders had a couple of good looking returners yesterday and unless they move on from Mario Alford, they're likely to be cut loose.

sadly...my gut tells me neither of the legit guys we brought in are gonna get a true opprtunity, and we will trot out and do more of the same...hope I am wrong....But I see them either being flat out cut...or asked to take a PR and they decline....for obvious reasons...and end up contributing elswhere while we continue on with same ol same ol and then be really scrambling next yr with zero experince for the 2025 season...or pay thru nose in FA to lock a guy down and sacrifice roster ewlsewhere...Lord help us if the Thomas/Biggie/gauthier trifecta is looked at as key pieces again next yr

U aren't being serious are you about this? People have lives outside of going to camp...and media job is to report actual stuff...not regurgitate meaningless fluff...or stuff that isn't directly related to position battles...especially if they want to.put their lazy stories behind a pay wall...I've been to.practices where 3..4..5 "reporters " are yucking it up with themselves and then practice ends and are like "well who stood out"

They have no clue....also we need reporters with some.onions to ask questions....challenge what the coach is saying...ask for what's and why's...they a bunch of sissies who allow Osh to continue with his smug comments and never question his stubbornness at times about stuff...and his clear biases on some things/players..

That's 80 percent of why a lot of our coverage is sub par...cowardice and laziness

Good example from last yr...Parker was ready to go a good month before they even contemplated it...looked best in practice drills and in skelly...one time in a pinny a couple reporters were even "oohh...who's that guy" then realized oh its Parker...I even asked Parker about a month before his first time back in lineup when he figured he be ready...said he ready for a while now but "it's not his time" and could tell he was frustrated...

It obviously continues, Parker must have suffered a serious injury last week if O'Shea doesn't think he'll return within the first 6 games, and yet no mention of what actually happened to him from anyone.

If only some sort of media existed to report on such events, that could really be a key part of sports.

I'd settle for a few unmonitored streaming cameras fixed on location like they have in the streets.  The Bombers and the CFL in general has to change their attitude about limiting access and encourage open coverage, it's not like they're protecting vital state secrets from CFL spies.

The lack of coverage in training camp is truly so frustrating. The human interest stories are great fluff and I can’t blame Ed Tait because that’s what the club wants but come on …

Bighill out to start the year and not a peep about any of the new linebackers.

Two offensive line spots open and no clue who is out in front of the competiton.

A full draft class and no idea how they’re slotting in yet.

Is Haba/Fox starting just a closed case already? Does anyone want to talk about it?

KJ Hill cut and as per the reporters, he was “a hyped rookie” but absolutely no mention of who may lock that spot down now.

It gets worse every year. @DTonOB explain yourself

This is why pre-season games still hold interest, it remains the only occasion to see many of these players compete, once cut they're gone for good.
