  1. Wonder how much the market on Buck Pierce has cooled after the Grey Cup performance?
  2. Two things to give you hope: 1) He has lost a ton in court already, but because it has been civil claims he has bought his way to out of court settlements. So he has paid lots in quasi-fines, just has avoided a formal judgment. And it surely has contributed to his 6 bankruptcies. Now it is criminal probes he can’t buy his way out of, so hopefully his record of losing continues but with different consequences 2) His opponent this time is government at the State and Federal levels. They have unlimited funds to go after him if they want, so he can’t buy them off like most of his lawsuits end up. Honeatly, as much as there is talk of “accountability” for past transgressions, this really is about keeping him from office again, so they need to be certain, and like any criminal organization, you attack it from the low levels and work your way up. Still a bunch of lower guys to bury first and get to flip.
  3. Big upset today as 3rd ranked Argentina has 3 first half goals waived off due to offsides (by a hand or a torso in 2 cases) and loses 2-1 to Saudi Arabia, ranked #51 in the world and the longest odds to win of all the teams at the World Cup.
  4. This is the proper request. Both sides have been beaten into the ground. So lock the thread. If and when Rourke signs, we can re-open it so whichever side is right can come back and gloat Riderfans-style about how wrong the other side was.
  5. 3DownNation reported in 2019 that the TSN deal was extended for 6 years and $50 Million. So $8.3 million per year, and just over $900,000 per team if they get all the money. But the CFL payment to the Bombers in 2021 was over $4 million, and they say the majority of that was from their share of the TV deal, so who knows the actual number? Suffice to say having a $200 million TV contract in the US would create a significant cash windfall.
  6. Lots of chirping about the Sask attendance from Bomber fans who forget that aside from the first one in 1991, we have not sold out a Grey Cup in our home barn. In 1998 we had the lowest crowd in 26 years at just over 34,000 fans with temp seating set for 45,000 - and about 10,000 seats were basically given away to paper the house to get us to 34K. Fans stayed away in droves because of the lousy Bomber team. Did better in 2006 but just under a sellout. And for the first Cup at IG Field, the second section of temp seats was abandoned when ticket sales again lagged, and we still didn’t fill the seats that were available for sale, even with a $100 across the board discount in October to boost sales. So if Sask deserves to not have another Cup for a long time (as some have said) because the stadium sold out in September but disgruntled fans chose not to attend, then maybe Winnipeg should not host either given our track record.
  7. Texas nachos - inspired by Planet Hollywood San Antonio (a one-bite snack): Pan fry bacon and break into an inch long segment Cook chicken breast in oven until done, dice up into one inch long strips Dice up tomato so it will fit over chicken strip Either a Tostitos round or scoop as the base Bacon on the bottom, diced chicken breast and diced tomato on top of it Glob of Bullseye BBQ sauce over top of each chip to keep it all together Sprinkle grated marble cheese over top of each chip individually, broil until the cheese is melted Assembly takes some time, so better if you are making for a group, but 6-8 per person is quite a tasty and filling snack
  8. You’ll do them until Jake Thomas says stop, and you’ll like them! FIFO, all you ******* saying “one”!
  9. Since you always ask if someone sitting on 2 goals feels lucky, maybe “Lucky One” by Loverboy, “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk, “Luck Be a Lady” for the Broadway angle, or “Three Times a Lady” by Lionel Ritchie. Yeah, I’m reaching here.
  10. Have we figured out a video for scoring a hat trick?
  11. Remember in 2019 how the heavy favorite Hamilton was practicing inside all week, Bombers out in the elements, that was when I felt “we are going to win this game”. Then the Ti-Cats ended every practice with the victory formation snap, and I was even more convinced.
  12. Seems like you got your panties in a bunch over nothing. He’s in Regina.
  13. They are one of the 6 team party rooms. Also the East, and every individual Western team except Edmonton.
  14. Me having to relive this debate from 3 weeks ago that still has settled nothing:
  15. Thanks for sharing! This was not on the Grey Cup Festival website.
  16. I would not miss the chance to witness live and in person the Bombers hoisting the Cup in Mosaic and drinking out of it in the Rider locker room. Saw the inaugural win at Mosaic, the inaugural playoff win, the inaugural West Final win, and the inaugural NHL game win, all in person. Need to complete the set!
  17. Asked Bob personally and he said he has spies on the inside. Because of course he does.
  18. Thought practice was closed to all fans and media. How would Irving know? Plus, he isn’t even in Regina yet to see for himself. Unless he is an agent of OSH assisting in the mind games. Hmmmm.
  19. Hey, are you telling other posters to how be a better fan on this site???? Mr. Holier than Thou???????? (my lawyer is hovering over my shoulder telling me this is how I should interpret your words and start a fight, er, I mean “discussion”) And I take no issue with your last 2 points. Carry on. 😁
  20. The Spirit of Edmonton breakfast is $135 per person. They aren’t running a party room. Not sure what you are getting to for $10, could you elaborate? And the party pass is for access to all 6 team party rooms per day, so not a terrible rate overall.
  21. I fall in the same category as @Wanna-B-Fanboy . I don’t have the energy to insult other fanbases. But no need to apologize @Noeller or @17to85, there is no right or wrong way to be a fan, whatever feeds your spirit is right for you. Personally, not sure whether to envy your passion that I cannot muster up, or feel sorry for any of your lingering bitterness and the need to exact revenge. Only speaking for myself, never felt the need to be bothered by or feel inferior to other fans who I don’t know from a hole in the ground who want to trash talk, and never get the need to return fire to feel the karmic payback of superiority. Our time at the bottom will surely come again, sport is cyclical, and for my thinking if I dish it out now I’d better be able to take it without whining when it is someone else’s turn at the top. But again, no fault of those who do engage, nice to have those passionate fans to carry the torch for the team as well and take on the haters. Not sure if anyone else feels this way, but after the 2019 Cup win I felt less elated than I did relieved, and I realized what a mental toll the 29 years of losing took on my psyche. And it disappointed me a bit that I would allow it to eat away at my soul like that, and that finally winning fet less good than the pain of all those losses made me feel bad. Also reminded of the phrase “sports is not there to bring you happiness, it’s there to allow you feel miserable in a large group” and something finally made me decide that this was a lousy way to lead my life following sports. It has brought me more peace and acceptance that if we lose, the sun will rise again and we can take a run at it next year, and that the more important things in my life are still there. And can appreciate what a run we are on now without any bitterness or comeuppance to other fans as part of it. On the other hand, it is disappointing knowing that the truly unbridled, unhinged joy of winning is just not there for me anymore either, so losing that innocence about sport in a way is sad. I know a few other older fans who had the same reaction, wondering if anyone here felt that way?
  22. So did I, but had to commit to purchasing season tickets for 2016 as part of the discount. Then one month before the game with tickets sales lagging below 25,000, the club offered the same discount to all fans, no strings attached to save face before the league. Then downsized the expansion of the stadium to avoid 15,000 empty seats. Made me feel pretty neglected as a season ticket holder. Then the club goes 5-13 and the club calls me up after the game to remind me to re-up, saying “you’ve committed to re-new, right?” I answered “Yes, but I’m starting to feel like a sucker for paying year after year for this lousy football team and a club that doesn’t seem to care about it’s base”. That gripe was met with a smirk and a shrug that basically said “yeah, but we’ve got your money locked in, so what are you going to do?”. Seems a world away now, but although my loyalty did not waver, sure felt like I was being spat upon then.
