  1. It also proves that you don’t have stats to show how we were screwed with the “incompetent” kicking we suffered through. Mourtada did get better after his bad start, but his fate was sealed on this board after his first misses in his first game. People need to get past Medlock being gone. Sure our kicking game was weaker, BUT it did not cost us games like you suggest, and when the chips are down, Walters got it sorted out. Liegghio is the future and that has not changed despite his struggles hitting converts. Mourtada improved enough to keep around and deserve to fight it out at camp. And if they both crap the bed, we saw last year that there are options out there can can be airlifted in fairly quickly. Let’s just dial down the “sky is falling” rhetoric a bit, perhaps? It’s March, we are down a kick returner and starting receiver, dropping from 4 kickers to 3 on the roster is not the death blow here.
  2. All of them were our kickers when we won. Our record with Crapigna as our placekicker: 2-1. Games he actually cost us with his misses. Zero Record with Liegghio placekicking: 3-0. Games his kicking points won us the game. One. Record with Mourtada placekicking: 5-0. Games his kicking points won us the game. One. Record with Castillo placekicking: 1-2. (2-0 in playoffs). Games his kicking points won us the game. One. (One in playoffs) Games he actually cost us with his misses. One. (Zero in playoffs)
  3. Medlock was brought in to compete with him, and outperformed him in camp, so he got cut. Plenty of kickers get second chances. With your mindset, Bob Cameron would never have been given a shot with the Bombers, having been cut 8 times previously. As last year showed, there’s always time to try out a new kicker. I don’t think the consternation is warranted just yet.
  4. Can the UN Peacekeeping force step in if civilians are being targeted?
  5. We gave a second chance to Sergio Castillo. Worked out well enough, wouldn’t you say?
  6. Ali Mourtada is ready to step up. He may fail, but let’s give him a chance in camp first. Or bring in Jon Ryan and see if he can kick field goals. Or Liegghio. Or Crapigna.
  7. Such reasonableness and logic will not be tolerated here.

  9. 2019 ones did not get unveiled until August 6, 2020.
  10. Maybe you actually prefer the opportunity to complain about the losses, so it feeds your spirit and gives you a chance to vent your spleen.
  11. Thursday’s entrant, Mr. Bryant Turner Jr. And today’s, Tyrone Rodgers.
  12. And who demands that all voters need a valid license as proof of ID to be eligible to vote. Read his Wikipedia bio. You know, I had never wanted to punch a guy in the face who was confined to a wheelchair before today.
  13. Again, no mention of forcing a father to watch the ultrasound or take any responsibility past conception.
  14. So…..The Roy Green Show.
  15. From the 1930’s-40’s , other than Fritz maybe Reg Threlfall (coached 1938-41, three Grey Cup appearances and 2 wins in 4 years, highest career winning percentage in club history, should have been 4 straight Cup appearances and likely 3 wins in a row but were barred by the league from participating in 1940) but he is not well known despite the success. From the 50’s-60’s teams Rigney is the best not already honoured, maybe Charlie Shepherd but a longer shot. From the 70’s despite some good names Jonas is the only likely contender. 80’s teams Murphy and Pop the two biggies for sustained success, Reaves, Clements, Jones, West all strong for periods, but not as long with the club compared to others, Mikawos has massive tenure but not much else (kind of like Jake Thomas now, very solid for a long time and has championships but not a star ever). Battle and especially Hill with his longer history fit in the early 90’s slots, Roberts likely from the 2000’s and Khari an outside shot (depending on how rarified the honour should be), and then the current crew is the next batch up in my mind. Don’t know if Westwood gets there on longevity and club all-time scoring record.
  16. It is always personal preference In the end, but I’d argue if Jones and Battle deserve to be in yesterday as you say, Clements is no less worthy than either of them. And we shouldn’t cap eligibility just because of position.
  17. Clements is one of only 7 Bombers ever named MOP, and one of only 4 to win MOP and Grey Cup as well. He is arguably the next most deserving QB behind the 3 already honoured. We’ll see where Collaros slots in when it is all said and done, but 2 Cups and an MOP in 2 (abbreviated) seasons is a pretty sweet start to a resume. For receivers, James Murphy was the all-time greatest receiver in club history prior to Milt, and is still #2 on pretty much all the career numbers, also only one of 3 non-QBs to win MOP with the Bombers (Milt and Willard Reaves the other 2). Joe Pop was a Canadian legend and had he not retired at 28 he may well have surpassed Milt’s career totals, I would not be surprised to see him honoured next. For o-line, Bryant and Rigney should be next up, John Bonk has an outside shot due to longevity, Grey Cup win, and Schenley win, but he was never “all-time best” talk like the other 3. There are others throughout the years but all a grade below the big 3. RBs Charlie should be next, then Harris, and Reaves some day since he stayed in Winnipeg after his playing days and won MOP.
  18. Thanks for verbalizing my thoughts on this. He was brilliant and my all-time favorite QB, and deserving of the “ring”, but it does open up the question of why makes one “ring-worthy”?
  19. I respect it enough not to butcher it with my attempt.
  20. Donny O. Not even going to attempt that last name.
  21. Just a gentle tease. No harm done, and as always appreciate the effort with the game day threads.
  22. Does this mean when you see a fight you want “more, more, more”? 🤣 The game is not played that way anymore. And on cue, a bit of a scuffle.
  23. I think he was saying it in the manner of “that’s NOT what I would tell my daughters to do” given the next sentence, but a very badly managed attempt at sarcasm.
