It's time for the Riders to start sucking ...
Tracker replied to IC Khari's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No question that short of the seven plagues hitting the Stamps all at the same time, first place is theirs to lose. However, conceding second to the Esks is premature- Reilly has been injured again and again and their O-line doesn't look all that much better than the one which allowed all those sacks last year. I'm not sold on Durant, but I see the Riders competing with the Blue Bombers for second. And the Lions are boned. -
TSN broadcasting the Bomber game now?
Tracker replied to kelownabomberfan's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
The flaw with this is that the US networks are starting to put their shows under subscription through their websites. It is only a matter of time before that subscription format turns Netflix into the same monthly cost as getting cable. And the horrible truth begins to dawn..... -
TSN broadcasting the Bomber game now?

So you're telling me that Rod Black spends more than three days prepping for a game? In fairness to Rod, most of that time is spent on the pancake makeup. It was worse in the past when he had lip shrubbery. -
Its players like Neufeld who make coaches (and GMs) crazy. The size and talent are there, but if you can't depend on them, it really messes with the game plan. We've had a lot of good, even great players here in the CFL who just did not have their parts glued together well enough to have a career- Jesse Lumsden comes to mind. At some point, if Neufeld cannot stay healthy enough to earn his paycheque, he becomes a liability and he will be replaced as soon as someone close enough to his level becomes available..

With his demeanor and reputation Picard is going increase the flag count substantially. Won't be surprised if he doesn't become a fan favourite around this neighborhood. He isn't now?

Harper has been almost as good a Prime Minister as Brian Mulroney. Harper`s church believes that a worldwide nuclear holocaust beginning in Jerusalem will bring Jesus back, He tried to deny Canadian servicemen (and women) proper ramp honours when their bodies were returned to Canada, got 157 military killed, and between 600-800 permanently disabled in an American war which was obviously unwinnable from the start, muzzled scientists who dared to say climate change was real, and spent between 5 and 9 billion dollars in Afghanistan in a lost cause with no tangilble benefit, His people tried to block voters, and suppress voting in the last election. Harper tried to illegally appoint a judge to the Supreme Court against advice, and removed inspectors from meat-packing plants leading to two of the biggest tainted-meat recalls in our history .When he tried to blame torture in Afghanistan on the military, the top general contradicted him with proof that Harper`s government knew all along, so four months later, the general was forcibly `retired`. Harper said that he would get rid of the useless Senate by refusing to appoint any more senators when vacancies were created- Harper has appointed more senators (all Conservative toadies like Duffy and Wallin) than any other Prime Minister since confedation. And his government slashed railway inspection regulations because they were unncessary-remember Lac Megantic, anyone

Good to hear Anerson is back in harness. Sounds like the DB and RB positions are still unsettled with a lot of talent in the defensive backfield to be sorted out. I'm a little concerned that the receiver positions are not yet set, but I guess we will know more after Friday. No real surprises among the QBs or O-line, but Neufeld is looking like a big disappointment.

Pretty sure he actually did play OL in his younger days. I believe he played " drawback" as his natural position..

Damn. Too bad about Anderson- a good guy who gave us the push we need up the middle when he was healthy, and I am not sure we have anyone on the roster who can give us an equal presence.

Training Camp / Practice - June 15
Tracker replied to voodoochylde's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Get used to it, folks. O'Shea looks to be one of the most closed-mouth coaches we've had and whether its his idea or Walters, it all shakes out the same- we're going to be fed a steady stream of platitudes, cliches and vague descriptions. So long as the team wins, it will be accepted. -

And with BC releasing Derrick Morgan, it looks like he will be heading back to the FBI's BAU now. Mind you, that would be Criminal. -

The QB Travis can always go back to his family. -
I agree with you. QBs who look to run as their first option usually get beat up pretty badly and quickly and thus have a short career. I am still hoping that Marve's self-preservation instinct will kick in and he will see the light.
-
Marve has not really stepped up, according to reports, and I thought he would do better as camp rolled along. His saving grace is that the guy behind him is doing worse.
-
Which two? Dile and Neufeld.
-
These two have to be at the top of the "what are we going to do with them?" list.

Earlier CFL season gaining traction

Why not consider "telescoping" the season by shortening the time between games by a day or two? -
Anything those gals don't have is not worth wishing for.

Another flame-out of a big-name NFL player. Maybe he just didn't want to leave his buddys behind.

Was the issue with Willy that he is hanging onto the ball too long? There was speculation last year that one of the reasons he was getting pounded was that he refused to throw the ball away when there was no play.

Its amazing how much is lost without the music.

I agree, the coaches show has never been more entertaining. For the most part, yes. I do remember one show with Reinbold after the Bombers had been soundly beaten and the lies were opened to callers. The first couple of callers pitched softballs, but the third one one tore a strip off Reinbold who was competely blindsided and flustred, leading to several minutes of "ums" and "ers".

For the record: no, you may not sneak out onto the field and give him your phone number.

Shocking, but amazing that he managed to get that many free meals out of the Esks.
