Did I miss some official announcement? Only thing I heard was Doug Brown and Lawless said he was coming back. The Bombers are leaking out the info to the media. Too embarrassed to make it official. And, if true, they ought to be.

I doubt if there is any coach in any sport who has not made calls that have been questionable, but the bottom line is winning. In Montreal, apparently Higgins was sitting out veterans (Bowman in particular) who were pets of Popp in preparation for transitioning the team to younger players. The veterans started bitching and Popp fired Higgins. Considering what he had to work with in Montreal, I think Higgins did pretty well last year.

Taman and Tillman have a lot of baggage, but Higgins might be a better choice for head coach. Higgins' experience as a possible GM is iffy.

I wouldn't rule out the players putting out their best effort of the year against an admittedly disinterested Argo team. Everyone is now auditioning for next year's jobs and I would bet half of this crew isn't going to be here season. At least, I sure hope so.

When you say "Weakerthans", are you referring to the 2014 and 2015 Bombers?

Our season was done by Labour Day, even though some chose to live in denial. We've had brief moments of competence, but the team has stunk for two seasons. Gonna take a lot of Febreeze to clear out this stench. To those who have been calling for "continuity", continuity means more of what we've had for two years. Enough already.

Can't fault Walters for picking Nichols up-he was the only option there was and with a decent OC and O-line, heck- he might even be average. Where Walters, O'Shea, Bellefeuille, and especially McManus fell down was when they collectively looked at the backups to Willy way back in training camp , wrinkled their brows ad thought, " they're good enough". Someone's feet ought to held to the fire for that group brain cramp and the inability to find better backups in the US of A.

The offense ought to chip in for Westerman's fine because he's one of the prime reasons they get onto the field.

The problem with this list is we realistically don't know the answer to a lot of them.... sure we can guess... but it likely won't be accurate... Even though I don't know for sure, I have formed an opinion that is likely to be very accurate. I think he's been exposed as a terrible head coach but there's no need to embarrass the poor guy any further. He's had a very rough year. I am sure he has learned a lot these past two seasons. He's got one year left. Let's see if he can put it all together next year. What do you think? Can he? All the available evidence says "no." Even with a new OC? Even with some new players? Even with 2 years under his belt? Those all exist as possibilities and may or may not come to pass. It is even possible, although horrifying to consider, that Bellefeuille could be here next year, so it could actually get worse. All we have to go on is the track record, and that does not inspire confidence. Consider how bad the DC was last year and how long it took to replace him, and the same situation this year with the STC and OC.

It has to be frustrating for Westerman, being expected to provide 90% of the pass rush all by himself, so if he's cranky, it would be understandable.

com'n Doc...give it a rest! I think he makes a pretty good point. EDM looks like they are set to be a contender for a few years. WPG, not so much. And, according to an unnamed source, the Big Blue are considering a name change to "Ringling Brothers, Bombers, and Bailey".

Nor much for booze myself, but a couple of guys (ok, more than a couple) would get a syringe and shoot a couple of oranges full of vodka for consumption during classes. Seemed to keep them happy.

We'll know next June. No.. Next june we will have cries of "what a bust!"when he isnt starting yet or "what a bust!" If he starts and stuggles.. Followed by, "cut him some slack" and "picks take a while" from the other group.. A better time-frame would be in July August. Even then, might be too soon to attempt to pass judgement as it does take a player who was groomed in American football to come full term with the CFL rules and changes. Year two is good indicator but still shouldn't be make or break imo.. Agreed. Training camp should give Waggoner a chance to begin to push now that he has been in the CFL for a bit. Bass struggled for awhile but has grown into a very good linebacker, so that ought to be a good yardstick to use for Waggoner.

We'll know next June.

With the amount of money in play here, the insurance company or companies will fight like cornered badgers to try to avoid paying out. They try to prove willful negligence on the part of the insured(s) and are probably already prepping their strategies.
