Depth Chart Etc vs Hamilton
Richards has proven nothing so far, except that he is either brittle or snake-bit. There is a rule that if you cannot make the starting team in three years, you are never going to, so time to move on.

Depth Chart Etc vs Hamilton
We need to keep our expectations for this game reasonable. Adams and Dressler were not only very good last game, they were in sync with Nichols. Not likely that the newbies will have that same familiarity with Nichols, so our passing game is very apt to suffer. Gotta pound the rock and play the possession game.

OK, it IS Willy ...
We have a decent shot against Hamilton and that's all the team can ask. Collaros is still down and it looks like a few of the missing pieces on defence have been found. Bond has glued the O-line together and all Nichols needs to do is manage the offense like he did against the Esks.

Bombers Release Hawkins Hubbard
And yet I do not recall Green overpowering anyone or sprinting past them to nail the QB.

In Case You Missed it
The numbers for Willy do not lie, and simply confirm what most here have been saying for some time. Overall, this forum has fingered many poor players long before they were moved out or replaced, so why has it taken the people who are entrusted to run the team so long? If O'Shea has been choosing who plays and who does not, who stays and who goes, most of this has to be at his feet. Walters and his scouting staff are supposed to find good players, so they are not blameless, either.

Riders Vs. Als "Bottom of the Barrel Edition"
Medlock is certainly no worse than Hajrullahu at his best, but is not a homeboy. Doesn't seem to be an improvement, but whose decision was it to cut Hajrullahu?

Bombers Release Hawkins Hubbard
Another puzzling decision. Hubbard looked like a player and didn't take any stupid penalties. Green has not been effective plus his brain cramps,

I would like to see Bridge here for a tryout. After all, we are River City.

Riders Vs. Als "Bottom of the Barrel Edition"
A non-import starter is valuable enough that he should be given every possible chance, and I would have preferred to have him come to camp and compete for the job. As it is, we got nothing for him, and I would still like to know why the Argos were able to help him correct his game and the Bombers couldn't.

Riders Vs. Als "Bottom of the Barrel Edition"
Re: the Ottawa-Toronto game: The game was rather dull until the second half but was played by the two best-coached teams in the league and worth watching for that reason alone. Hajrullahu has reclaimed his career and his release has to be another black mark against the current regime's ability to assess talent properly. Medlock is as good as advertised, but he is an import, and an expensive one at that. How could Toronto coach Hajrullahu out of his funk and the Bomber coaches could not? Coombs is being wasted in Toronto, and Toronto and Ottawa have to have the two best sets of receivers in the league. And Kilgore has bumped Willy even further down the QB ratings. Burris looked way more rusty than he ought to have.

Return of Denmark?
Denmark will not look bad, but he is not likely to win any games for you, either.
-
OK, it IS Willy ...
Not exactly what I had in mind for "qualifying " the statement.
-
OK, it IS Willy ...
Ummmm...you may want to qualify that statement.

Return of Denmark?
I can, but will he able to beat out the other options?

OK, it IS Willy ...
That is the big question for the 2016 Bombers, and a very real possibility. Nichols may work as a stopgap measure but we have little reason to hope that he can be the starting quarterback of the next few years. It would be great if he could carry the team for the next 2-3 years while a younger pivot is groomed, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it just yet. The next questions are: do either Davis or Bennett fit the description, and if not, can Walters be trusted enough to find the right quarterback?
-
OK, it IS Willy ...
If you read my posts, you will learn that I am far from convinced that Nichols is The Answer. Those you cited had proven themselves beyond 5 wins that they had potential. Willy has not.
-
OK, it IS Willy ...
The QBs you cited were performing reasonably well before their numbers slid and the trade came. One five game winning streak after a lackluster career as a backup. does not put Willy in the same league.

Former Bomber Antonio Armstrong Shot
He didn't make it. (from CBC news 4 hours ago) A former Winnipeg Blue Bomber has been shot to death, allegedly by his own son. Antonio Armstrong and his wife, Dawn, were shot early Friday morning, American media has reported. The couple's 16-year-old son has been charged with murder. The Blue Bombers sent their condolences to the former player's family on Friday night. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of alumni Antonio Armstrong, who passed away today," the Blue Bombers said in a Tweet.

OK, it IS Willy ...
I think it is safe to say that at this point, Willy is not starting QB material. He might get his mojo back, but history says that it is likely he is done as a starter, at least here . Maybe a ex-QB coach like Austin or Hufnagel might help him, but his glory days here are over.

Cue the crashing indifference. He's not going to stick there, either.

Depth Chart against Edm.
At 350 lb, all Bond has to do is stand there.

Riders Vs. Als "Bottom of the Barrel Edition"
From that putrid display from the Riders, if the Bombers cannot finish ahead of them, there has to be something terribly, terribly wrong.
