  1. Well, there is the Simon and Garfunkle 60's song.
  2. In comparing the two, I see Nichols as being more competition in personality- he wants to win and Glenn just doesn't seem to have the damn-the-torpedoes-full-speed-ahead mentality. This might be better for Glenn's longevity but does not endear himself to the fans.
  3. I think the body type makes him closer to Fantuz than any Bomber player of recent years.
  4. Drat. I forgot to go to "L".
  5. We don't know if Jones was given direction by the board, but regardless, for all the scorn we have heaped on Jones and Co., this was heartening. Not only is Cox's pro football career over, his life is probably over. The legal system down there is particularly hard on backs and repeat offenders,
  6. And not just the imaginary kind, like before.
  7. I think the knock on Durant in the last couple of years with the Riders was his brittleness and poor supporting cast. It seemed to me that during that same stretch, Durant got really beaten up, mentally and physically and lost a good deal of his competitive fire. It was probably time for him to move on, but I have my doubts that Glenn or Bennett are going to lead the team to the Promised Land. Glenn needs an extra count or two plus darned good receivers but if he gets hit, he gets rattled. Bennett- who knows?
  8. Apparently you can fool 87% of the people all of the time.
  9. Fast is nice, but if Richards can use his size, run good patterns and hang onto the ball, I will happily settle for that. Fantuz has never been a speed merchant, but he got open and hung onto the ball for a darned good career.
  10. Never got a Chance to go to bat.
  11. In my view, Bass was Ok, but not great. We have had the need for a homicidal middle linebacker for several years, and I sure hope that either Knox (who apparently comes from a hard school) or Temple is it.
  12. If O'Shea cannot recognize a good MLB in the making, no one can. Knox didn't take the job away from Bass last year, so it would seem our best hope may be Temple.
  13. All three have perfect choppers.
  14. Wasn't Logan's death chronicled in that movie not that long ago?
  15. Was listening to 1290 today interviewing Rod Peterson. He was pretty candid in describing the Rider training camp as being close to desperate, but of interest was his anointing of Brian Bennett as clearly no worse than the second best QB in camp. Mr. Young is looking lost and disinterested.
  16. Good to hear that Richards hasn't been injured yet, and might even be a legit receiver. Maybe Feoli-Gudino hasn't had enough pressure to make him jack up his game. I'm hoping that someone will separate himself from the pack of NI receivers.
  17. Reminds me of Al Jolson's song...
  18. I was going to say that he's a dead ringer. Or the sign on the cattle breeder's gate which read, "For Whom the Bull Toils".
  19. Considering the dog's breakfast Nichols had for receivers last season, he did remarkably well. That said, I hope one of the quarterback candidates really pushes him for the starting job.
  20. Probably with his palms and fingertips.
  21. God. This looks like the Manson family on a bad day.
  22. As much as it might grind Jones, his ratio/talent problems ought to make him near-desperate for a serviceable NI O-lineman before too long.
