  1. My initial reaction when Walters and then O'Shea were hired was that both a rookie GM and a rookie head coach would mean several years of struggle. That guesstimate was based on the hirees being smart and willing to learn, but there have been decisions that O'Shea made which were puzzling and Walters-his scouting crew, really- have failed to recruit well in critical areas. The injuries served to make a team marginally competitive team into a bad one. I cannot see how the Bombers can do well in the playoffs, even with Nichols back, so we are looking at 2018.
  2. Davis in his time on the field gave little reason to believe he could run an offence.
  3. That would be nothing short of humiliating, and I would be very close to turfing the lot of them.
  4. Most coaches and GMs have something to recommend them- personality, football smarts, experience, a sense of humour, etc, but Joe Mack had none of the above.
  5. O'Shea and Walters are good guys but the Bomber record is the Bomber record. I really hope the needed changes and recruitments are made soonest possible to give the fans hope for next year instead of empty cliches.
  6. I agree that O'Shea and Walters will almost certainly get another year, but I expect/hope that there will significant changes in the off-season. And, yes I think the Bomber playoff record will "one and done". We can only hope the Rider suffer the same fate.
  7. You missed the point. In this league, as in many sports, the management and coaches make absolutely baffling, nonsensical decisions in defiance of all logic.
  8. And when we got a FG, they rolled right down the field and got a TD. With the Bomber defence as flaccid as it has been as was, it was obvious that the odd field goal wasn't going to do it.
  9. Who you see in Blue and Gold is who we are going to have right to the end of the line. Nothing is going to change.
  10. Bombers were not as destitute for player talent as the Riders, Hamilton or Toronto, but they went out and got the job done.
  11. i disagree. The Lions were marching up and down the field at will, our running game was almost non-existent and our receivers apart from Dressler were doing squat. Doug Flutie would have had a tough time.
  12. Maybe. The offence under Nichols wasn't exactly on fire before he went down. With him down, the maybe went to zero. .\
  13. That would be beyond weird, if actual. Maybe a lovers' quarrel?
  14. I'm not sure Walters ought to be tarred with that brush. Lets see how things shake out in the next few weeks.
  15. And you will be pilloried for disloyalty and heresy for your speaking thusly.
  16. No to defend LaPolice's decision, BC used Hamilton's palybook to key on Harris and we had no answer for that because our receivers were MIA.
  17. When Davis was benched, my thought was, "Lefevour can't be any worse than Davis", but sadly, he was waaay worse. The thought occurs to me that if LeFevour's only value is short-yardage lunges, why not just put a fullback behind centre on those plays and use that roster spot to develop a decent QB prospect? Mind you, that hasn't done Davis much good.
  18. Are player or personnel moves during the playoffs and before the Grey Cup frowned upon by the league?
  19. Stumbling into the playoffs is almost as bad as not making it at all. Last year, the Bombers went into the playoff on a roll and nearly beat BC. This year, no matter why, the team is on the skids. If they play this poorly during a home playoff game, manure might be imported from Regina the next day to be presented to Walters.
  20. And possibly depth at RB. linebacking and NI content. Outside of that, we're golden.
  21. Are you insinuating that there are problems in the Bombers organization?
