  1. We have LaFrance but when the opposition knows that if you do not have a running game, you have nothing else, its pretty much game over. That's what Ottawa, Calgary and Saskatchewan did and then the Bomber defence wore out.
  2. For this to be a credible prediction, there would have to be some major changes in the Bomber starting lineup and defensive game planning, and O'Shea's record suggests this is not likely.
  3. They did just fine last game, but some teams are able to find good players mid-season.
  4. Agreed, and it will take a really desperate situation for O'Shea to consider replacing Nichols and even then, it will probably be for a couple of plays. Lets face it. O'Shea has bound his fate to both Hall and Nichols and they will all succeed or fall together.
  5. No one has to "show" how bad Nichols has been lately- he is doing a spectacular job of doing that all by himself. Moreover at least 90% of his detractors in this forum would applaud if he happens to get his poop together and plays like last couple of years. By any measure, Nichols currently does not deserve the starter's role. Does Streveler offer us reason to hope? Maybe, but Nichols does not.
  6. It occurs me that whatever Nichols is going through psychologically might be related to the horrific injury he suffered in Edmonton which came close to not only ending his career but crippling him for life. If that injury was really traumatic for him, he might be reliving it in this recent incident. However, in the end, it doesn't matter. Either he can play at a high level or not.
  7. If we don't, we will be officially in freefall. If we get blown out, there will be bodies swinging from lamp posts.
  8. If its Labour Day and we're already hoping that the team is good enough to make a crossover, that says something really sad about the 2018 Bombers/
  9. O'Shea doesn't have to say anything publicly to embarrass Nichols- if Nichols thinks he is doing just fine, he's delusional. All O'Shea need do is spell Nichols off when he is not doing well. That would send a message to the team that this is not good enough and no one's job is guaranteed. That might even take some pressure off Nichols.
  10. I suggest you are missing the larger picture. Nichols has been off all season for reasons we do not know, and the team has just come off two embarrassing losses.
  11. I am not quite ready to give up on Nichols just yet, but I am close to that point. O'Shea keeps trotting him out again and again when it is obvious that he is not doing well instead of putting in the #2 QB to at least break the rhythm of 2 and outs. Just like Willy. Pretty much every QB has off games and sometimes getting him to the sidelines to get a different perspective is the answer. If nothing changes, nothing changes.
  12. Sooooo...you're referring to September 10th?
  13. Now you've given me reason for a week's worth of nightmares.
  14. Stop asking us embarrassing questions that make us uncomfortable and weepy.
  15. We will not know good or bad our receivers are until we have a quarterback who can read, react and deliver the ball. That said why O'Shea is not using our two promising Canuck receivers (Peterman and Simonise) instead of Thompkins and Washington is beyond me. They may not be all-stars yet but they deserve a shot. Another example of poor coaching decisions.
  16. Be honest- if the Bombers had won in that fashion, you would still be celebrating.
  17. It feels like we are reliving the last days of Willy's time here, with O'Shea defending his choice of quarterback right to the edge of the cliff.
  18. And if my aunt had testicles, she would be my uncle. The result is the result and the loss was mostly self-inflicted with little relief in sight.
  19. And they built teams that beat vaunted teams from the west.
  20. I also feel sorry for Nichols. He is not the anal aperture like Casey Printers but this is a results-driven process, and he has lost something and is not the same quarterback of last year.
  21. Probably not. He will ascribe it to just not having been given enough time. Like problem gamblers for whom the gambling is not the problem, its the lack of more money.
  22. I think you overestimate O'Shea's willingness to adapt. I quote Red Green,"Everything can be fixed with duct tape. If that doesn't fix things, you are not using enough duct tape."
  23. Contrast the ducks that Nichols threw for the most part against the dart Streveler threw into the end zone.
