Considering the disaster that the Argos were for most of last year, MBT did surprisingly well. He got up after each clobber he absorbed without glowering at his O-line, and looked competent a lot of the time. With a primo O-line and decent, stable coaching, he ought to look a lot better.

Don't knock the value of child labour.

But does he still have the mojo to be an impact player?

And that is pro sports and a lot of businesses, too.

His interview performance had nothing to do with any speech impediments. The "y'know" thingie shows up in a lot of interviews and doesn't do the interviewee justice.

Mr. Pierce was interviewed on 1290 this afternoon, and, to be charitable, the team should limit such in the future. A third of his statements were "Y'know"s and the rest was peppered with hoary cliches. I hope he does better in communicating with his charges.

I think i could live with Bethel-Thompson and McGuire as quarterbacks this year, and it may come to that.

I should think that someone from the Bomber organization would take the initiative to come onto the fan website and make the announcements like this one. It would make many here feel like their support of the Bombers was of value.

Its like cars- its not the year, its the mileage on the chassis that counts.

I do not think that this "global expansion" was all about finding better players. I see that as a bonus if such can be found, but more likely it has to do with advertising. International companieslike Coca cola, Adidas, and Ford are more likely to advertise and pay well for programming that are watched in Europe, Asia, South /America etc.

Isn't Hecht down in the States for tryouts?

I think that would be the death of the CFL.

The QB position has got to be the most demanding one on the team. Many an athlete has pronounced him/herself recovered and ready to roll, but the team found out that was not so. I would think that a good athlete does not have to lose high percentage of ability to become a so-so performer. This may be so with Nichols- in the past, when he was injured but still able/willing to play, his performance dropped off a lot. And he is a year older now, so his being able to win and keep a starting role is iffy.

Shouldn't be a problem, either. We have dozens of people doing it every day.

We should be okay with Mr. Donahue- we do not have any tunnels. Just a few underpasses.

My beef with this is that there have been a number of Canadian QBs who have shown promise but have never made it in the CFL. As is obvious the grooming of QB in the Canadian university is not as good as in the US of A and need more time to develop, but they rarely get it. Allowing teams to roster NI quarterback and not have it count against the salary cap or roster numbers might give us a chance to see a NI quarterback become a legit starter.
