  1. Agreed. By the 4th grade, they usually can count to 12 consistently.
  2. This is a tad off topic, but it seems to me that last year Wolitarski was catching the ball and then often dragging defenders several yards. That doesn't seem to be as much in evidence this season.
  3. I think that there is the attitude of wanting to win every game that has to be nurtured, so letting up in the home stretch could encourage the "we will win when we have to" thinking.
  4. How dare you denigrate the brave men and women who serve on the front lines of major retail establishments.
  5. Wal-Mart is always looking for greeters.
  6. Wish I could find a reason to pick Ottawa over the Lions.
  7. No to mention the fumbled kick receptions. You can hang the loss on Bray and despite his obvious talents, he has to be on a short leash.
  8. Ottawa has little to trade for Mitchell if it comes to that, apart from draft picks. Given the state of the RBs NI talent, they would be stupid to do that.
  9. Yup.
  10. I would bet that DesJardins might make a play for Nichols as well. Hell, almost any backup in the CFL would be better than that sad duo Ottawa has. That game was worse than bad- it was boring.
  11. As incompetent as the Lions' o-line and coaching is, at the least they have a credible quarterback, although he has to be hurting from all the pounding he has been taking. IF the RBs can pummel him AND Jennings plays the game of his year, Ottawa has a chance.
  12. Should Streveler be playing well and progressing and O'Shea put Nichols in as soon as Nichols is healthy enough it should pose and interesting scenario. Under this scenario, if Nichols plays well and wins, all is well. But, if Nichols struggles and O'Shea does not field Streveler until all is lost, the wolves will be howling. I think that it is a given that Nichols will start as soon as able regardless of Streveler's performance. Like it or not, this is O'Shea's team and responsibility and he will rise or fall on the strength of his decisions. He is a good guy but that gets him no cup rings.
  13. Exume appears to have the speed, physicality and pugnacity. Does he have the discipline, smarts and spidey sense?
  14. Hecht might be good enough for this year, but if so, just barely. The only things saving his butt are his passport and a darned good set of DBs around him. It would be very good to replace him with an upgraded NI.
  15. And will probably still go unnoticed.
  16. It got him forked up.
  17. There's one thing that Nichols brings to the table that Streveler, for all his assets, cannot- experience. You don't get that in film sessions but Streveler's greatest asset may be in his unpredictability, if he can master the RPO approach. At this point, I do not know which one I would want in a Cup game.
  18. Thought they would blame that on Mike O'Shea.
  19. Pederson is not worth fussing about. Period.
  20. I didn't see you using the sarcasm font and hope it was an oversight on your part.
  21. To inject a note of realism, Calgary seems to be rounding into form and will not go down without a tooth-and-nail fight. In a playoff game, anything can happen.
  22. Agreed to some extent. Whereas reading the blocking is taught at the college level, Augustine is not as familiar with the tendencies of the hogs up front as Harris was and that will cause him to pause on occasion. Think of what happens when a member of the O-line is replaced as happened with Speller and Desjarlais. That appeared to throw Harris off a bit. Augustine may not be an all-star but so far he has exceeded expectations.
  23. Dementia is a sad thing, particularly when it is widespread.
  24. This is not your father's Alouettes any longer. The Als may still be a bit short on talent, but Khari has them believing they can win again. I would pick them to beat the Riders.
  25. And Streveler seems to have command presence as well- AKA charisma.
